Okay, I'm going in August and I have a very bad feeling that the rumors will be true and I will not get free dining. I got the 40% off code, but the dates were not valid for summer months. I am going August 5-12th.

Come and Join, Losers like me!:woohoo:

Let's face it. Disney does not wait until the last minute to see if resorts are booking. The Contemporary is completely sold out!

So, here's to us that have no luck or are paying rack rate!:cool2:

I know what you mean, but I'm trying to be postive as we are using AAA (better than nothing) and it is value season rates. I'm also hoping the crowds will move on over to free dining dates. We went last August during free dining and I thought it was really crowded (we were told that POR was at 100% occupancy).

put us on the looser list also!! We could not go last summer when they offered the free dining but booked this year ( 8/14 -23) hoping for the same discount...looks like we are going to be out of luck:mad:

I was hoping part of our trip would be part of dining as part of it comes under the wonderful weeks. I guess not..

If we go we will have to dig deeper into our pockets. WE got the 40 % post card but couldn't use it because of the dates. WE were hoping for free dining but the rumored dates for that won't help us either. I could save $350 using AAA but would have to compromise on hotel choice and flights.:confused3  Don't know what to do!!!

I agee, this is why I choose the dates I did too....Disney told me that this was part of the quiet weeks of WDW....boy did I get set up.

Yes, I'm part of the loser club along with the rest of you. I am still/but not for long/booked at Pop--3 rooms--packages. I will cancel the 3 reservations as soon as it is offcial. I didn't need the packages because most of us are AP holders. I have lots of DVC points, but wanted to save them and take advantage of the free ddp promotion as I've done in September 2005 and August 2006. THose two trips were spur of the moment, and this one was planned. So you see the planning got me no where. So I'll use my DVC points and have ALREADY booked my back up reservation at OKW and will pay for the ddp. We won't have to buy tickets as most of us have them already. This way actually saves everyone money in our group because it's cheaper, but it costs me 189 of my precious points. Next year I won't be get caught up in this mess again. If its offered in 2008, I'll book a last minute trip and go, but that is the only way I'll do it in the future. BTW: our dates are August 15-24 and also got offered the 40% discount, but it did not work for our dates.

Add me to the collection of folks who wish and pray and for free dining or any discount and end up with nothing! I am booked 8/5-8/14 with Disney for a package with no discount. I am so reluctant to switch and book my package with AAA for the discount, since I prefer doing my own ressies with WDTC, and I hear such mixed reviews about AAA travel. I keep crossing all my fingers and toes hoping for some kind of deal! Every day my husband asks, "How about a code, what discounts do you have for our trip?" :headache: He thinks that since I spend so much time checking out dis, I must have the answers! Rack rate is too much!!! We really love dining, and the luxury of having everything on our KTTW. What to do????

With all us booking ahead looking for the free dining Disney has NO REASON to offer it as the parks are going to be booked at a higher level. Maybe we fell for thier marketing ploy and they are smart :rolleyes1

Joining the loser club. I just told DH that it looks like we won't be getting free dining this year. We will be there 8/17 - 8/21. But I am really considering going elsewhere if there is no free dining for my dates. Or just bag the trip all together. I will only lose $230 from the airfare.

I will join this club too. Got the 40% off post card and couldn't use it. Our dates are from 8/17 to 8/25. We are leaving the day before the rumor dates. We got the AAA rate so at least that is something.

Here is hoping for less crowds

Going July 27th or so. No 40% code here. Going too early to hope for free dining or a bounceback. BUT I am using the Tikifest discount at the Poly so that's something! Right?

Add me to the list too. I gave up on free dining, and just booked WL Aug 12 - 19....and paid for the dining pkg.:headache: I asked the CM about discounts in early August, and she thought there may be some, but they would come out in June. So, maybe we'll get our park hoppers & water park option for free, or maybe a discount off a room. We don't belong to AAA, nor do I like handing over my vacation to someone else, so we don't even have that discount! Regardless, I've gotten over the fact that free dining won't be an option. Oh well. Hoping for less crowds as well! And I got all the ADR's I wanted (except had to switch Le Cellier to a different day than I originally planned) but other than that, everything was wide open.:yay: Plus we have the P & P party. pirate: Maybe to make it up to all of us, they'll give out extra dreams during this time! Think positive.:thumbsup2

I too hope for the free dinning but looks like from what I have read, even if it does come out it will only be last week of Aug ( when My kids have the 1st week of school) till sometime in Sept. which is a bad time for my DH to take off and to pull the kids out of school:(
I think the last couple of years when they had it it was at least hafe of Aug though the 1st few days of Oct? Big difference! for this year if they do end up having it like some have heard. Or sad if they don't have it at all:(

But Hey everyone!!! Please do not call yourselves Losers-- Your not!!! ( don't even joke about it)LOL
Just say if no free dining like in past -- We all are just very SAD Disney Fans!!!-- NOT LOSERS!!!!!!!:wizard: And we all just might have to go save a few extra $$$'s and go for a trip like to Hawaii!!! :cloud9:

Not sad because I was going anyway and didn't know anything about free dining till I came here. But I'll stick to my ressies at the Swan without free dining and cancel my WDW resort backup package. But I was not even sure if I would keep my back up package as it is not at a mod or deluxe anyway.

Hi All. Had a great conversation with Bronson this morning as I proceded to pay full Rack for the Poly and Coronado Springs. We go every August for 2 weeks and were really hoping for a postcard. I'm sorry to say Bronson was also under the impression that there would be no FREE dining this year. :sad2: I realize that anything is possible where Disney is concerned but I'm not going to hold my breath. So I think my Family qualifies in the loser category and will continue dreaming of 999,999 Dreams that do get fulfilled this August.
Oh well, at least Cinderella's Royal table was still available. :)
Have a great day and ......

Hmmm….losers? I don’t think so….I much prefer the term have not yet been blessed by the Disney Gods. There will be something for us.

I am optimistic to the point of being delusional. I have on my ruby slippers and am clicking my heels three times saying there’s no place like Disney with a discount in early August, there’s no place like Disney in early August with a discount, there’s no place…

My world is a happy place, indeed :goodvibes

August free dining was nothing compared to spring break crowds...but it sure was way more crowded than our end of Sept trip in 2005

so we are going back at the end of Sept this next time...FWF! But no free dining huh?
maybe they have the dates a BIT off?? I hope???!?!?!!!?!:surfweb:

They have already listed a September Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining on the Disney TA site according to another site and a copy of the page was included. I also was able to get a peak at it too. The default check in date is 8/26/07.

You can't book anything as of now but they are getting ready to launch the special. You can try any dates but it says that they are outside of the range of the package.

having this show up so early on the TA site would be really early for a start date for bookings on 4/12 or for even 04/07. This would be way in advance if it started on 04/07 so I bet it will be sooner.

This won't help me and I am still keeping my fingers crossed for some type of discount for a little earlier in August, specifically starting on the 15th.

I don't know how smart they will feel when the cancellations start rolling in. US/IOA are offering deals for EVERYONE during this time period. We may be moving our loyalty. I am guessing that quite a few WDW vacationers will move their dates to the free dining time period and there will be others who will just cancel. Moving our dates isn't an option for us due to the school start date here. :confused3
