The Official Harper's Island thread starts 4/9/09....

Last night's episode was really good. I kind of think the killer could have someone helping with setting traps, kidnapping Madison etc.

As soon as Abby saw JD on the dock, Jimmy took off like a Bat out of heck....and the JD was murdered!!!!!!!:rolleyes1

Did the guy with the burned face set all the ****y traps in the woods? If so, then he killed the priest right?

Is Jimmy the guy who has a crush on Abby? If so, then I think he is the killer. He told her to stay with her injured Dad in the truck but he took the gun. How would he know she would be safe since nobody else seemed to be.

I think his ****y traps were only around his place to keep himself safe. I believe the killer set the Priest killing trap. It seems that the only person hurt by the deputy was the sheriff.

I agree...Harkin set up the traps to keep people away.

I don't think Harkin set up the traps. I think he was using his dog to keep people away.

He said the trap that got the Sheriff was his and was meant to keep the killer out. The killer got in after the Sheriff set off one of the traps.

I think Henry found JD & it's JD's blood on him & he's upset because his brother just died. He didn't kill him.

The original murders, wasn't everyone hanged? Why do people keep saying that every murder now is just like the original ones no matter how they get killed?

A small thing and probably something that doesn't mean anything at all. In the beginning credits when they show the tree with all of the dead bodies, they show Abby's mother, then there's another shot of something else, then a really quick shot again of Abby's mother hanging but this time her eyes are wide open.

I agree that Henry was helping JD and he didnt kill him. They said its all about Abby so I wonder what that means. JD said it has always been about her. Im gonna say Wakefield is alive and maybe protecting his daughter. How many episodes are left????

CBS has said it is only ONE killer, but I'm liking Cal or Chloe for it at this point. I think Henry is too obvious after Saturday's show. Chloe has this obsene fascination with serial killers and she grew up on the island. I think she is sick and tired of everyone focusing on Abby and somehow Chloe knows that Abby is W's love child. She is killing everyone that is taking credit for putting Wakefield away (sheriff's dept) and she killed Kelly because she was getting attention since her mom was one of W's victims. As for the wedding party, I think Chloe feels that she is the odd one out b/c she grew up on the island, whereas Trish's family only vacationed there and they come from big money. So she is tired of being looked down upon by them, another reason she paired up with Cal - he's a doctor, he's english......... And I think Cal would do anything for Chloe, he may be her puppy dog follower, and he is actually committing the murders at her request......

I just looked at CBS.com, registered for pick the victim. Has anyone else joined? or am I wrong picking someone to die? I feel guilty, ugh!

I just hope that when the murderer is revealed we will be able to say that it makes sense. My fear is that in order to make it a shocker, we will end up saying, "what the heck, it makes no sense, there is no motivation, in episode 1 this character was supposedly here and not there, etc."

The thoughts I have had about who it could be.

Abby with multiple personality but seems too obvious

Do we know what happened to Trish & Shea's mother; is she supposed to be dead? They've been broadcasting the possibility that Abby is Wakefield's child so I'm tending to believe that means she isn't, but someone else is? Maybe even Trish? A lot of the deaths have been associated with the Wellington's even though it's supposedly "all about Abby." But in order to make it a shocker, I could see them introducing a character right at the end to reveal them to be the murderer. I've also considered Shea.

The show is inspired by Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None" aka "Ten Little Indians." In that story the murderer turned out to be one of the "victims" that wasn't actually dead. Given the gruesome nature of most of the killings, the only one I could see so far fitting that mold would be Booth. He accidentally shot himself, maybe it was faked. The being buried part would be harder to see happening, but it is TV fiction. And I don't know what the motivation would be.

CBS has said that the killer was in epi 1 so we have def seen him/her. Also, there is a lot of speculation on fan sites that Booth faked his death. And.... wait for it......

came back as the gardener that was outside Malcolm's window when he tossed out the money. Apparently someone was fired way back when when Trish broke her arm on a faulty swing at the park. Maybe Booth is that man's son and back for revenge? Seems weak I know, but just speculating.

And when I saw that gardener, I thought, man he looks familiar......

No they were all hanged AFTER they were killed grusomely--like we've been seeing. Possibly even the traps?

Chloe was ready to leave the island and Cal talked her into coming back. I think it was be great if it was Cal since he seems so far fetched...But I don't think Cal is such a puppy dog...

Darn I deleted the episode!

And as far as JD's it's all about Abby comment..don't you want to slap him!? I mean, say the killer's name you idiot! Not some stupid clue! lol

As for what the comment means, I think it's that either Abby is Wakefield's daughter or he thinks she is, so he's doing the killings because of her...or her unknown half sibling is continuing them after his death...

And that journal that the sheriff sent Abby to rescue must be pretty darn important. The deputy had JUST been shot with the arrows so you send your kid out to fetch the burning sac?

And it's obvious that absolutely no one on the show has ever seen a horror movie! :sad2: They need a character who makes fun of how people in horror movies act--like Scream. :thumbsup2

Last comment--JD deserved to die for being so flipping stupid!!! :headache:

Yup! And Missing Madison called not her Moms phone, not her Aunts phone...not even her dead fathers phone...BUT the Cell Phone # the killer knew. Jimmy knows Abby's Cell phone #, he was not friendlywith anybody else.

A couple episodes ago, the Sheriff told everyone, "Go back to the hotel, stay together, don't be alone." And the rest of the episode people were going off by themselves, wandering around the island, etc. DH kept yelling at the screen.

I wondered a lot about Trish and Shea's mom too. It has been mentioned that she died. But it hasn't been mentioned when or how she died. No backstory has been given for Henry's parents' deaths. I think there is a possibility that Trish could be Wakefield's child and that's why the killer is targeting the wedding.

Good point, but Malcolm buried him. How would he fake being buried alive?

Cal has shown some signs of a temper..... just something about him is rubbing me the wrong way. And yes, JD did deserve to die, just like all these other morons for acting like the typical horror movie victim!!!

Good point, but Malcolm buried him. How would he fake being buried alive?

Malcolm could not have buried him very deep - after all, he returned to the bachelor party pretty quickly. I don't know that I agree with the "Booth is alive" theory or not, just putting it out there.

As for what the "it's all about you Abby" comment, I do think that Wakefield has a love child. Could it be Trish? Sure! Maybe she was put up for adoption by Sarah Mills, and was adopted by Wellington. She grew up in a cold, loveless house and always resented Abby for her idyllic life on the island. After her dad (Wakefield) killed all those people, Trish snapped and began plotting her own revenge..... could be!

As for Madison..... could she be working WITH Trish? After all, Trish seems like the only one in the family who likes to have a little fun. Maybe Madison is "playing a game" with Trish and doesn't realize what she's really doing?

I agree Malcom probably buried Booth in a grave that was only a few feet deep. I like your theory on Trish and does it make sense because it was mentioned that Trish and Henry are about a year older than Abby. Sarah could have had Trish and put her for adoption before she came to Harper's Island and then Sarah married Charlie and had Abby. I could see Trish using Madison in her plots.
