I decided to create an official holiday thread. A thread to tell of traditions, pictures, stories, facts and just random holiday talk! (I am sorry if their is already one here.) ​

every christmas eve the kids get new pj's and we wear them all night and christmas day
and we always have coffee cake on christmas morning

on christmas eve, we open one present. But only a small one!

I had a christmas dream last night! lol

We go to my grandmas for christmas eve and we open the presents that our aunt, uncle, grandma and grandpa give us.

And we eat.
And then I go home and sleep.
And then I get up the next morning and go really slow just to annoy my brother because our whole family has to be ready before we open presents.
Then I get my diet coke with crushed ice and then we open presents.

Every year me and my sister wake up mega early on christmas day and look at some of our stuff.
Then we try and wake my parents and brother up so we can open stuff.
And we watch disney specials from the travel channel XD !

We usually just stay up from christmas eve until christmas and open it up when its officially christmas day.

I dont know if that made any sense.

Every year i stay up all night, not to hear sleigh bells but to make sure nobody burgles us(it happend once but we had a beagle and he scared the living hell out of them xD. Now we have a jack russell puppy who's more likely to lick them to death)

Everybody has to get dressed, do their hair, have brekkie and do their teeth before the lounge door is opened.

Dinner is served at 12 sharp or i throw a fit

Nobody goes upstairs unless you need the toilet.

Nobody eats the nuts, sweets or choccies before dinner.
The nuts sweets and choccies are always put out.
There must be a raisin, nut and chocolate drop mix.

mmm i like traditions.
Our lounge always had a silver and gold theme for christmas. Today they went out and bought a new tree with *drum roll* multi colour lights! LE GASP!! So now we have a multi colour theme in the lounge. I refused to decorate it. Call me spoiled and selfish if you want it's nothing i haven't heard before.

Well I'm a little kid at heart,so I usually wake up around 2am or so.
Then I go out and check to make sure Santa came.
And if I don't wake up on my own,usually my sister comes in a wakes me just to say 'Sissy,Santa came!'.
Then we hightail it upstairs to wake the 'rents,they get their coffee,and plop it on the couch.
Then we open presents.
We NEVER open presents after 7am.
It's always 2am-6am.
Whenever we wake up from too much excitement.
Oh,and stockings are always opened first.
And around 10am or so we start preparing dinner.

But this year we may do it different.
We might open our presents on Xmas Eve or at 12am.
And I'm still trying to get my mom set on the idea of Epiphany/Three Kings Day as we're half Spanish.

Only 19 more days until my brother comes home (he's in Ottawa right now for school). I can't wait, it's not so much that I miss him and his personality, it's just the house feels a bit more empty without him, and my parents seem awful lonely without him. They're going to be so happy to see him.

We usually pick a present that my aunt and uncle gave us on Christmas Eve. But we don't even know if we're celebrating with them this year, so it'll probably be a bit different.

On Christmas Eve we drive to my great-aunt's house in Mass and we celebrate with my dad's side of the family. We stay there until about 2 or 3 in the morning (we've never eaten dinner before midnight). We drive to my grandmother's and spend the rest of the night there (usually only about 2 hours) before my mom's side of the family shows up. We open our gifts from aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents there. Then we go to my great-grandmother's for Christmas lunch and we open gifts from great-aunts and uncles, and our super extended family there. Then finally, we go home (usually around 5 or 6 at night) and open our family presents.

I also give gifts to my friends at school. Being as I celebrate Christmas purely as a time to give and receive gifts, this year I'm exchanging Hannukah gifts with Isaac. Everybody else is getting Christmas presents. Or "holiday" presents in the case of my atheist friends. Erica gets a Solistice present (and so do I. I much prefer celebrating the Solstice which is actually observed as a holiday in my religion than receive a gift on Christmas).

On Christmas Eve we open a preasent that my aunt gave us. && we go to a christmas party at my dad's Aunts house. On Christmas im always the first one to wake up then i go down stairs BEFORE i wake up everyone, then i go back up stairs and get my sister and then we wake up my mom, dad and brother :] Then we eat dinner w/ the rest of my family- aunts uncles cousins..
