Well according to that article IT'S NOT Derek or Meredith. My guess is April or maybe chief wife. I would be okay with Jackson or Christina going, Christina I have grown to HATE her.

But the Chief's wife is not a major character, so I doubt it's her.
I'm thinking that the lack of info on Callie and Arizona may be a red herring. I hope so!

If I remember correctly Shonda Rhimes said in an interview that it would be a fan favorite that would die.

It's not April because she spilled the beans in an interview about how she would be on the show next year.

I didnt really see many spoilers. I have been reading a lot of message boards a lot of people are saying Bailey. I know that would make be BAWL I love her

If it's Callie, it would be interesting to see if Mark lets Arizona help raise the baby or if he keeps her away. Bet his new GF would leave and that would help Mark and Lexie get back together.

Mer must be pregnant. It seemed like she stopped throwing up for several hours and started up again in the morning. I still think she and Derek will move to Boston as both their contracts on Grey's are up.
I would like to see Avery's mom more. I always liked her on "Fame" when I was a kid.

I dont know who dies but Ive read who doesn't. Apparently Cristina, Meredith, Alex, Bailey and Jackson are safe.

It so funny to read through a thread like this and see how differently people view the characters. I see Christina's problems as being on Christine, not him.

I think Derek dies. That would explain why Christina was with her husband in the previews.

I don't think it will be Derek b/c 1) Rhonda Shimes (I think that is her name) said you have to be careful who you get rid of b/c if how fans react and she mentions something about killing off George ( I guess she now thinks it was wrong)? 2) They just killed off Teddy's husband so that would be too similar 3) We've already seen 2 shows of Derek being either dead from a car accident( Meredith's dream) or almost dying from the hospital shooter.

I'm very defensive about them getting rid of Derek that way! I don't even think I could watch the show if that happened.

I think you are referring to Valerie's Family/The Hogan Family. Valerie left he show after the 2nd season. The show went one for another 4 seasons after that with Sandy Duncan.

That being said I dont think they would get rid of Meradeth but I do think they brought in Lexie originally partly in case they did get rid of her. They would still have the Grey name

Is that confirmed? Last I heard they had not confirmed which stars renewed and which ones didn't.

Just because Patrick Dempsey's contract is not currently renewed doesn't mean anything. They could still be in negotiation.

Thomas Gibson, of Criminal Minds, didn't get his contract renewed until the end of July, almost exactly one month before they started shooting for the new season. They even stopped talking to his agent and stopped negotiating completely for about a whole month, thinking he'd chicken out and back down from the money he was asking for.

Meanwhile, Shemar Moore, also on the show, his contract was signed in MAY, (the same year.) His salary more than doubled. He bought his mom, who has Multiple Sclerosis, a house on the beach from his new money.

Since the writers didn't really know whether Thomas would be coming back, they had written alternate scripts without him.

The stars of Grey's Anatomy have reportedly signed up for a ninth season.

The future of cast members Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Grey-Shepherd), Patrick Dempsey (Derek Shepherd) and Sandra Oh (Cristina Yang) was previously in doubt.

However, all three have now signed new deals, according to Deadline.

Justin Chambers (Alex Karev), James Pickens, Jr. (Richard Webber) and Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey) have also agreed to return to the medical drama.
