The Official GLEE thread

"Scream" was a single MJ released in 1995, it's a duet with Janet and the music video (which was what Artie and Mike Chang performed) is listed at the most expensive music video ever. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scream/Childhood)

I'm not an MJ fan but I still loved the music in the episode. I didn't see the Blaine storyline coming at all, I haven't liked Sebatian from the beginning but now....oh I so would have had Santana's back on going all "Lima Heights" on his butt. I think my favorite was Smooth Criminal, if you guys aren't familiar the guys playing the cellos are on Youtube, they do some amazing covers on cello and piano. http://youtu.be/rR94NDIfGmA

You beat me to it I was going to explain Scream, DH didn't know that one either.
We both loved that Artie got to dance!
I really like Santana so much more since she came out :thumbsup2
She's becoming one of my favorite characters.
Also totally agreed with Quinn's advice to Rachael regarding getting married
at this stage in her life. Loved the 'dragging the anchor of your old life into
your new one' comparison.

To me the episode was 'eh'. For the first time, I skipped song performances... two I think. They just didn't do anything for me.

That's not to say there weren't good parts of this episode to me... Smooth Criminal was great! Also, there were more songs than normal, weren't there? I think I counted 7 or 8 at one point.

I agree with you. Smooth Criminal & Human Nature were my favorites, the others were ok. But this wasn't my favorite episode. Not even close.

love it either, and I was really looking forward to it. I think they had to explain Blaine's absence for the next few weeks. He was in, "How to Succeed in Business" on Broadway. :)

Oh yeah, I forgot about Darren's stint on Broadway, that would make sense to explain why he's gone.

2Cellos is the BEST! They are the ones who created the rendition of the song a while ago. Check out their website. I bought the album off of iTunes eons ago and it is fabulous. They are so talented. So glad more people will discover them because of Glee.

ETA: Their MP3 album is the deal of the day on Amazon. Only $3.99 http://www.amazon.com/2cellos-digital-booklet/dp/B005BUZJ6O/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1328126993&sr=8-2

Thanks for that. I didn't realize that there was a storyline behind the two cellists. I'll definitely have to check them out.

This episode didn't wow me either. I thought there'd be more, I dunno...Ooomph?

And the whole slushy eye thing. This show repeatedly pushes my ability to suspend disbelief. Even without proof that there was rock salt or anything in the drink, Sebastian would be charged with assault for throwing the slushy and wounding the kid. He'd be thrown off his choir just for that.

Anyhoo...the show requires me to suspend a LOT of disbelief when it comes to their portrayal of villains, and it's getting redonkulous.

As for the music, I don't care for when they recreate music videos. I like when they put their own spin on it.

Then you have the New Directions THREE TIMES inviting the evil choir over to try to lecture them. First for the "Bad" throw down, Second for the "Smooth Criminal" off, and third for the "Black or White" nah-nah-nah-boo-boo. Those Glee kids are gluttons for punishment.

It was a not a favorite episode of mine either. Although I am not a huge Michael Jackson fan, so that might have played a part.

I did however love "Smooth Criminal".

Who watched last night?

I am loving Ricky Martin as an addition to the cast.

I was laughing watching the girls reactions to him. That's probably not too far from what actually happened when they first saw him.

I was not thrilled with last night, this was my least favorite musical episode since the funk episode of season 1. I laughed a few times, but didn't love it.
I did love a couple of things though, Sue was fantastic!
And Kurt finally telling Finn he is capable of so much more!!! I have been waiting for weeks for someone to tell Finn he can do more than be a mechanic, something his mom and Burt should have been telling him all along! Yay Kurt!!!

I enjoyed the Ricky Martin addition as well, but what really had me grinning was watching Mary J Blige (?) giving the what-for to Sue! I am disappointed that none of the songs were really all that memorable, but that may just be because I'm not a big fan of Latin music. I'm hoping things are going to pick up here in the next episode or two.

That isn't Mary J. Blige. It's NeNe Leakes...from Real Housewives of Atlanta. :)

I thought for sure Mr. Schu was going to do a Ricky Martin or Menudo song. I was waiting for that all night. Letdown!

NeNe was awesome! Love that Sue's got someone after her.

I thought La Isla Bonita was great. I love Ricky Martin.

I enjoyed last night's episode, not a favorite but enjoyable.

I did however LOVE Ricky Martin. I felt like a teenager again watching him sing. I loved "I'm Sexy and I Know It", will be downloading that one for sure.

I loved the episode last night! But, I remember Ricky Martin when he was with Menudo and he actually went to the same school that one of my cousins went. My Mom is from PR and I worked there after college at the law firm that represented Menudo for a couple of years then I got homesick for the States.

I was disappointed that Schuster picked the song that he did but it was funny to see him try to speak Spanish :rotfl: even my DD14 said that she speaks better than him and shes just learned it from school.

Not crazy about last night's episode. While I did enjoy some of the story lines; Sue's desire to have a baby, the pursuit of the tenure position and Kurt's discussion with Finn, I did not enjoy the musical numbers at all.

How the heck does somebody become a language teacher without knowing the language. I loved Santana this episode. She dealt with an issue in an adult manner for a change and she was right on about Shue's stereotyping Latinos.

Question for the teachers here. Is a guidance counselor considered a teaching position and is it eligible for tenure in the real world?
