The Official GLEE thread

So who payed for Artie's Re-Walk?? It couldn't be Beist. Not on a teacher's salary.

I actually thought this episode was only OK. The music was fabulous (loved Baby It's Cold Outside and both songs from The Grinch), and Bieste - who is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters - was great, but I thought it was all a little... heavy handed. And we know Sue is evil, but would she really steal from orphaned and/or homeless (I think both adjectives were used) children? Rigging Secret Santa? Sure. Destroying the Glee Club's tree? Definitely. But stealing the presents (even if they were sort of hers)? I don't think even Sue would stoop that low :confused3

I also thought the Brittany/Santa stuff was sort of ridiculous, but Artie was sweet going to all of that trouble to keep the story alive for her. I'm also surprised that Puck was celebrating Christmas without mentioning he's Jewish like Rachel did...? He mentions it in every other episode, but not the Christmas one? :confused3

I agree. I also have a problem with the way she is using Becky.

I thought it was obvious that it was Beist, based on the way she gave a knowing look at the end. Forget salaries. You have to suspend believability with Glee.

It was Beist. She must be a good saver! She doesn't seem the social type, so she must save a lot of her salary. Bless her, that was so sweet and made me cry.

Yes, the Grinch and The Most Wonderful Day of the Year, were both different than on the CD, but still great!

I loved that they did Welcome Christmas, it was a great surprise since it's not on the CD!! And my dd is starring in the Grinch right now, so that made it even better.

In most TV shows, you need to suspend belief a bit. ;)

They burst into song at the drop of a hat with perfectly choreographed dance moves and no practice...I think I suspend disbelief just fine. :lmao:

But getting me to believe that some one can afford a device like that in cash on a PE teacher's salary? That just goes into absurd territory. :lmao:

BUT, it makes me love Beist all the more.

:lmao::rotfl::lmao: True!

I think they said somewhere that Beist used to be a wrestler or something. Maybe she had money from that? I'm curious though, Im going to go look it up

Not sure about Beiste, but Dot-Marie Jones, the actress who plays her, was a professional arm wrestler!

Loved this episode. Yeah, perhaps Sue was a bit over-the-top, but Brittney believing in Santa Claus was sweet, and I teared up too when Artie was "walking".

Having gotten jumper cables for Christmas, I appreciate Will getting shopping help from Kurt. Wish Kurt could help out my DH!!

Rachel is just more and more annoying. Her desperation is so unattractive, no wonder Finn keeps saying no.

I'm ready for Rachel and Finn to graduate.

I love Beist. Between Brittney's belief in Santa and Beist playing Santa, it almost made up for the annoying Rachel.

I'm really starting to love Beist! Her speech to Britney about patience... ooo made me misty... and I'm not a crier!

I'm ready for them to tone Rachel down. Her desperation is really going overboard.

As for the Sue/Becky as Grinch/Max - I thought it fit perfectly. And frankly yes, I think she would steal from the less fortunate... that's her "character" - despicable that it is...

Anyone else hear that Ed O'Neil thought that Lynch didn't deserve her Emmy??

Awesome episode! At first I was a bit leery of how Bieste would fit into the show, but I am really beginning to like her. Sue as the Grinch was hillarious (and so fitting for her character). What I love is that no matter how terrible Sue gets, they always find a way to show that she really is human and has a heart (even if it is 3 sizes too small ;) ) Jane really did deserve that Emmy :thumbsup2

I thought the show was just okay. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Although, I am loving Bieste and the way she is fitting into the storyline. I miss Brittany's one liners, like "I'm pretty sure my cat's been reading my diary." And I hope Kurt returns soon. But even their "OK" episodes are better than most other shows.

Maybe there's more to Bieste than meets the eye. We don't know an awful lot about her background. Could be she's really wealthy and teaches for the love of it.

Whatever the reasons I love Bieste!

The Artie/Brittney pairing is just so sweet! I adore them together.

I'm hoping Blaine and Kurt make it official, they are a cute two-some!

As for Finchel... well, I don't want to see them back together for a good time yet. I hope the writers take it slow with that. At least keep them apart until Rachel gets over herself just a little more. I mean, puh-lease "It's Christmas, you have to forgive me?!" Yeesh, even in apologizing she makes it all about her. *sigh*

The music was good this ep...I just wish the Xmas album had the Who's Christmas song on it. It was so good when they sang it on the show!

I like Artie with Brittney better than him with Tina. And I like Tina better with Mike Chang...mostly cause I think Mike is a cutie and wish they'd give him some more air-time and a back story.

Brittney all giddy over Artie walking was adorable.

My DD also a Mike fan! I did enjoy the episode but not quite as much as some other recent ones. Bring back Gwyneth Paltrow! ;)

We are big Mike Chang fans too, we get so excited every time they let him speak! And how we love to watch him dance, he is amazing!

Does anyone else think they stopped short of having Sue Grinch say something about carving the roast "Biest"?
