The Official GLEE thread

I think Brittany and Artie is a little weird, but I like it for some reason.

Great episode!

Good to see Mr. Shue ripping into Rachel when she showed up with that duct tape. Her diva attitude was getting SO annoying. She deserved that!

Poor Puck - locked in the Porta Potty, when he was only trying to help out the glee club. "Are you an angel?" :rotfl: And interesting new addition to the Glee Club. Wonder if we will find out more of her story in the upcoming episodes? :confused3

The comb story was hilarious. "It's a MAGIC comb!" :lmao:

As for the music, I LOVED the "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" duet with Kurt and Rachel, and the numbers from Sectionals: Dalton Academy's "Hey Soul Sister", and New Directions "Time of My Life" and "Valerie". LOVED Brittney and Mike Chang's dancing on the latter!

So, here's an example of the generation gap: When Quinn and Sam started "Time of My Life", I told DD that it was from the movie "Dirty Dancing". She said, "No, its from the Black Eyed Peas."

I missed Sue in this week, but I heard she has a Grinch-like role in next week's Christmas episode!

I don't think Kurt will stay at Dalton. He is not fitting in as well as he thought. And I think Pavoratti the bird will die while in Kurt's care, and he will have to leave. I think they will do something with the whole Kurt-Karovsky issue, but I don't think it will be suicide - that's just too dark for Glee.

I think New Directions will run into Vocal Adrenaline at Regionals, and hopefully, we will see Sunshine (Charice) and the new coach (Cheyenne Jackson) again!

That was my favorite part!!

5 of us that watch Glee, love, love, love the show. Last night, BAD, total snooze fest.

I don't see the suicide angle as being realistic. While Glee has managed to deal with certain issues with grace, I don't see them getting that heavy handed. I see either the bully dropping out/being forced to leave school or coming to finally deal with his homosexuality.
I'm not entirely sure about that... something that stuck out in my mind was Rachel talking about fantasizing about her own funeral and about Finn completely losing it and not being able to go on... that, coupled with all her selfish rants yesterday... I really hope they don't take that anywhere.

I didn't like how The Warblers and New Directions tied at sectionals. But you could tell that was going to happen to keep that story line going stronger. I personally think New Directions always due a better job, but I might be a little bias. Can't wait till next weeks show.

I agree the he's not going to stay but not because he's NOT fitting in...I think the problem is he fits in too well. They are all the same, he doesn't stand out at all anymore and I think he kind of liked that he was unique.

I really loved the songs at sectionals. LAME that they tied but I guess they had to...

Oh and the new guy? Forgot his name...the blonde? Love him!!

Sam? I love him too.

I was also kind of glad when Mr. Schue yelled at Rachel. I liked Sam and Quinn doing the duet at sectionals.

My cousin is at Disney today, and this is what she just posted on Facebook:

"at Disney bout to watch Amber Riley perform!! She plays Mercades on Glee!!!!!"

 I am so jealous!!! :upsidedow

I really liked the sectionals episode. It was refreshing to see an episode with more signing and less story b/c the past few episodes have been a bit story heavy for me. Next week's looks awesome. Can't wait.

So next week's is the Chrismas episode.

Does anyone remember the rumor that Susan Boyle was going to be the lunch lady on that show?

I remember hearing the rumor, but I haven't found anything showing her part of the episode (Wikipedia, IMDB, etc.)

Oh no I agree, I love her voice :goodvibes It's just her character is really annoying and for the reasons you said as well...why did the creators have to make her so annoying lol?

She's meant to be over the top, just as Jane Lynch's Sue is over the top. Rachel is the high school diva and she plays it well. I also think the facial expressions are still applicable to her character, Broadway or Glee Club, she still needs to emote the lyrics. Remember, when they are performing, they're performing in front of an audience and expressions needs to be exaggerated to be seen.

Speaking of Sue, as much as her character is a hoot, I was sort of glad to have a break from her for one episode. Sometimes, too much Sue Sylvester is 'C'ing too much. And it looks like we'll have more of our fill of her tomorrow night.

I think the thing with Rachel's facial expressions is that she wants to be a star on Broadway, not TV or movies. In the theatre you have to exaggerate so that your facial expressions can be seen by everyone in the theatre, from the front row all the way to the back. So in a way Rachel is doing exactly what one would do in the theatre, even if it isn't entirely appropriate for a HS classroom setting. However we know that she thinks she is already a star and is acting as such, regardless of whether it is appropriate or not.

She's meant to be over the top, just as Jane Lynch's Sue is over the top.
Yes, definitely. There is no intention, I believe, for Glee to be a docu-drama or any-kind-of realistic representation. It is useful to look at many television dramas as, simply, live-action cartoons. They're intended and designed to be entertaining rather than actual.

Oh my gosh...I am sooooooo loving this episode! It's just what I needed to bring some fun back to Christmas! And...Darren Criss and Chris Colfer's "Baby It's Cold Outside" is my favorite version of the song EVER! :santa:
