The Official Gilmore Girls Thread

I have to ask this question. I watch the show every so often. What I have noticed since the day the show aired is the bad acting. I like the show it's just when Rory and Lorelai talk it sounds so rehearsed. The other actors are fine. An example was last night when they talked about going to Atlantic City for Rory's 21st. birthday.Lorelai said they would play blackjack at midnight ect.. Then when Rory said it it sounded like she was reading the same words her mother just said. Maybe it is me. Something about their acting bothers me. Also why don't they have Lorelai and Luke show more affection towards each other? They act like they are afraid to touch each other. I like the both of them together but they need to show they love each other more. Anyone else feel this way?? I do like the show. I just can't put my finger on what bothers me about it.

See, to me the whole point of that was to show just how much like Lorelai Rory is. :confused3 They did the same thing 2-3 eps ago when Lorelai asked Luke, then Rory asked Logan "which dress goes better with a baby?".

Many people are bugged by the lack of affection shown by L and L ....we've heard they really don't get along in real life so we don't know if that is carried over into the writing of the show or if it is just written that way. The other night...he actually touched her hair!....I for one have never seen that girl give him one good reason why she deserves him! She's never done one nice thing for him.

the Lorelei and Rory thing ....well sometimes it bugs...but other times it is cute that they have that type of relationship....I just can't believe that she would be telling her kid that she would be taking her to At. C play cards drink and have men...when she was in Kindergarten for petes sake! (I'm a mom of 4) some kids would have taken it literally! Believe me! lol

Enjoy the show! It's better than another reality show that's for sure!

For the lack of L & L affection, I think it's because of Lukes character. He's a very no nonsense type of guy. He's not the mushy type, so they write the relationship that way.

L & Rory saying the same thing about her birthday, it was their plan and they showed how much they both wanted it, but were too stubborn to give into each other.

Woo-Hoo...next week Jess is back! Can't wait to see what happens. Hopefully, he will knock some sense into our little Rory!

Wasn't able to catch the show last night. Due to lack of any comments here, am I to think it was hopefully a repeat?

I was not prepared for a rerun this week. I am glad that next week will be a new episode. We are a Nielsen family starting on Thursday. I told my husband that we must watch all of our favorite shows. ;)

Only 2 days until a new episode -- And I think its finally time for JESS!!!

Okay - I am sorry but... A SECRET FROM LUKE'S PAST???

(previews for next week - that was about all I got to see this week)

I loved tonight's episode :) It was great to see Rory finally realize what she has let her life become. I loved how Lorelei was so upset talking about Paul Anka..........she could have easily replace the dog's name with Rory's.

It was great seeing Jess again. I wish he would come back more. He has family in town with Luke and his mother there.

The one thing I didn't like was how they made Logan such a bad guy tonight. He's not the best but he was never this bad. It seemed kind of forced to get Rory to a resolution about herself.

Are you asking? Highlight here if you really want to know ----> Luke discovers he has a 10 yr old daughter. I don't want the show to take this direction but since nobody asked.....

Next week looks good with Lorelai and Rory - FINALLY!!!! Tonight was somewhat shocking hearing Rory talk so sternly and disrespectfully to her grandmother. I'm not a fan of Jess' but if that is what it takes to get Rory to wake-up and smell the coffee, then I hope he keeps coming around.

Jess's appearance was a once and done thing. Unless he or the producers sign him up for any more episodes, he probably won't be back. I think they accomplished what they wanted to with him though, to get Rory to realize what her life had become.

Poor Paul Anka. I hope he gets better and doesn't get forgotten when Rory comes back. Also, the secret about Luke is a real doozy (I too heard the spoiler from the previous post).

Sternly I'll buy, but not disrespectful. If anything, Emily has been disrespectful of Rory, violating her privacy, running her life, not offering her any say so. This is mostly Rory's fault for allowing it, and TG she's finally had enough of this insane woman.

I LOVE JESS!!! He so rocked last night.

And I don't think Logan was out of character...I think we just finally got to see the whole unadulterated version of his character. And WHAT is with guys? I hate the whole "physical possession" thing they do...arm around her, steering her where he wants her, making her ride in his car? I guess since he can't actually pee on her to mark his territory it's the next best thing.

Loved the soccer girls, though.

Thank god. I'm not a Jess fan at all...but I am glad Rory got a wakeup call finally.

I loved last night's episode. I happen to think that Emily needed the strong talking to. Did anyone miss when she told Rory just wait till your father gets home? I think all along Emily has tried to use Rory as a subsitute for Lorelei, we messed up with the daughter we can make it right with the granddaughter. Rory needs to be herself, whoever that may be. It is good to see that she will be making changes to her life.

Does anyone know about the secret from Luke's past. Who could he have fathered a child with? princess:
