The Official Gilmore Girls Thread

The best part of Tuesdays episode was the scene between Lane and Rory. Loved it.

I like Lane's character, its a shame they have the lame band scenes all the time. I like Jess, he's a "smart" bad-boy and they were good together. Maybe Paris will play a role in getting Rory back..... I hope it gets better soon, cuz I'm gonna start making plans on tuesdays..... :confused3

I feel like we should send this thread to the producer...she is alienating her fanbase!!

Tuesday nights used to be events here...now not so much. I'm giving it until the end of the month. If something drastic doesn't happen, I'm gonna move on.

Yeah, I talk big, don't I? ;) :teeth: You know I'll still be watching in the spring.

Mal, you are a big talker. You know your butt is on that couch every Tuesday just like mine is - whether it gets any better or not ;)

Wish the producers could see this though

'bout damn time. *grumble, mumble*

I hope she really tortures him first before she helps.

I taped last weeks show and finally watched it this morning, so I could be ready for tonights!
I was equally unimpressed as the rest of you!
I also usually love Sookie, but she was putting her nose in where it didn't belong.
Jackson-funny
Band scenes-lame

Lorelei-why is she sitting around alone all the time! Now she has Luke, why isn't he with her!!??

Glad to see PJ and Liz weren't on though.

Rory and the old lady coffee party thing--that to me would be worse then community service!!

And now her and Logan are off to New York?? What is up with that? I used to like Logan, but he is a bad influence. Too rich, too lazy, too spoiled. Bad.
I like Jess better.

Just my vent!!

what did everyone think??

I haven't been posting any opinions so far this season, but I've agreed with everyone about how the show is definitely missing something without the Lorelai-Rory interaction. I do, however, think it's a good storyline, good for the characters, for the show, to FINALLY have a rift between the characters. It's interesting to see how they're dealing with it and it really shows us that those two really need each other (and we need them too!).

That being said, I personally think this episode was a big step in the right direction! Probably my favorite so far this season. I was so excited for the Gilmores and the Huntzbergers to finally have their confrontation! Plus, now that Richard and Emily realize that Lorelai was right and that they've been making a huge mistake with Rory, we can look forward to the first steps back to "normal" - Lorelai and Rory being reunited! (Even though I'm sure they'll drag it out til sweeps!).

Another good sign is that upon seeing Logan's dad again for the first time since the incident, Rory seems to at least somewhat realized that it was his fault she dropped out of Yale...and maybe not just what was "right for her" at the time (I so wanted her to finish confessing to Paris that it was his fault!!).

Speaking of which, I was really happy to have gotten more Paris in this episode, she's definitely my favorite secondary character. Always hilarious!

I really liked Emily's conversation with Rory's boyfriends mom. It was nice to see her in that role. I also liked when Luke was talking about how he likes doing things with Lorelei. I thought it was a good episode.

Help, we had to tape tonight due to a volleyball game and somehow we missed the final scene. What happens after Richard comes back in and Rory is speaking? Thanks

Jen

Thread Newbie here... but I'm a confirmed "Gilmore" addict.

I thought this was the best episode this season... if only because they gave us hope that the rift won't last all season. And it was great to see Rory succeed at something besides good grades! But the Luke - Loreli story line made me HOPE they don't turn her back into 'the flakey chick that can't commit'... it would be SOOOooo sad it they broke up.

As for the end of tonight's episode. What you missed was Emily at her finest! After talking briefly with her husband, we watched as her faced dawned understanding of the whole issue... & how it had effected her family, especially Rory. She looked over at Mrs. H & for a moment you wondered if she would make a scene... but she's too controled for that. She calmly walked over to Mrs. Huntsburger, bent down and quietly but firmly put her in her place. Basiclly she said "Honey, I know your history and unless you want it ALL out in the open you better back off my granddaughter, and let those two kids have thier relationship the way they want it, for as long as they want it". (Apparently Mrs. H didn't 'come from money', as she'd like us all to believe... in fact Emily implied an improper pre-marital fling with Mr H as her 'ticket in'. There was also implication that Mr H still enjoyed various 'flings'.) I have NEVER like Emily more than in that moment! What style! Then she just walked calmly away and Mrs. Huntsburger sat there dumbfounded. Should make for interesting follow up!

Anyway... so glad to find the thread... thanks for letting me visit! :flower:

Thought tonight was good.
It was good to see Lor and Luke finally communicating about their relationship. I was a little worried at first, but turned out good.

Loved Emily!! She was so great to Shea Huntsburger!! And Richard was great to Mitchum too. The way they told them off was fabulous! I think Richard will now be ready to convince Rory to go back to school.

Was nice to see Paris too, she is too funny. I think she will be moving in with Rory now, because she is broke. That will be good.

Kirks little skit--too freaky!

I thought Rorys fundraiser might turn out horribly, for a good storyline about her failing and all that, but it was a big success. Was a good idea, fun theme, nice to see her succeed, especially in front of the Huntsburgers.

Thought it was a good show tonight.

OMG--this was definately the best episode thus far!! I didn't want it to end--Emily was fantastic whenshe let Mrs. Huntsberger have it--and she did it still with some class not ranting and raving like a lunatic! This is the beginning of hopefully getting the "old" strongwilled Rory back. I too hope they don't ruin the Lorelei+Luke romance by her getting all non-commital (is that even a real word!) like she usually does! Paris drives me insane, someone should let her have a "go" at Logan's family, she'd rip them to shreds!
After seeing the preview for next week , I just can't wait, it's going to drive me nuts!!

oooooh.... we don't get the previews of next weeks show on the channel I watch. Anything really good coming up??

It says something about being in love and too young for marriage with Rory opening a gift as Logan looks on and then it shows Richard and Emily going into what looks like maybe Rory's bedroom and says something about a shock or surprise--my husband was talking as I was trying to listen so I may be slightly confused :chat:---at the end it showed Richard at Lorelei's door saying he had something he has to tell her and the look on his face is like it was at the end of the show tonight--very solemn!!
I can't wait until next week

We filmed next weeks episode a few weeks ago. My son has a small non-speaking part in a scene in Luke's diner. The kids had a blast filming it as they got to 'play' and throw paper at another child in the 'urn' You will find our more about that next week. The case was great and we had a blast.
I am trying to catch up on this show as I used to watch it but haven't for several years.

Absolutely LOVED Em this week. When Rich told her all about what happened and she just got that grin on her face...priceless!

Still like Logan's mother best as Ms. Jacobs ;)

Hopefully they won't put Luke & Lorelai on the back burner...she needs to actually commit to something.

About the wedding...well, I heard or read somewhere that there was going to be a wedding but not who we though. Maybe Rory & Logan do get married :scared1: I can't imagine that but stranger things have happened this season.

The previews for next week were very confusing to me...I HIGHLY doubt Logan is proposing. I'm guessing maybe Em and Rich finally figure out that Rory and Logan are sleeping together.

I did like Emily's little speech, but she hasn't completely redeemed herself to me yet. Same with Richard.

Sookie and Jackson bugged the crap out of me last night. Paris was hysterical, especially the scene where she's analyzing Rory's panic attack.
