The Official Gilmore Girls Thread

I liked last night's episode. Sooki and Jackson crack me up!

I have a question, though. Lorelai asked Taylor how many "Lorelai Gilmores" he knew, and he said "2, you and your daughter". Rori's real name is also Lorelai? Can someone please explain that one to me? Thanks!

Yes, Lorelai's daughter Rory is another Lorelai - in one episode she said that she was young and on pain medication when she had Rory do she named her Lorelai too. And, her grandmother is named Lorelai too. (Her father's mother)

So is Rory her middle name or something?

I don't think so. I'm kinda confused on that whole thing too. They just shortened Lorelai to Rory. Don't exactly know where they got that from?!?

Yep-"Rory" is her nickname. I'm not sure how that one works either. Thanks for not 'spoiling' anything this morning. I still need to watch last night's episode. Thank goodness for Tivo.

I believe Rory is a nickname.

I couldn't believe Lorelai left Luke up at his apartment. He looked so adorable, I'd have just ditched the party and gone to bed with him!

Me too:p

My sis thinks that Jess is going to come back as a Yale student! That would be cool...I liked Jess.

In case you don't know, I don't think Jess will be back anytime soon, if at all. He has a big role on American Dreams as the new rebel neighbor (a similar character to Jess) and it looks like he will be there awhile since he is in the opening credits.

I can't stand Dean. I am excited to see a storyline with that boy from Yale. And, I too thought last nights episode was a little bland. Hopefully something exciting happens soon.

BTW, I don't think most of the spoilers are spoilers. They are pretty common knowledge to anyone who reads the entertainment magazines. Rory's father is coming back on the show, because his sitcom on ABC got cancelled. Who knows what that will do with Luke and Lorelai. And, after last nights episode, it is pretty clear who the pregnant person will be.

Did every one watch Gilmore Girls yet.

Jackson and Sooki had the lines this week

Rory & Dean-:( , please just end it already-boring.

I wish they didn't have Lorelai and Luke sleep together already.

I can't stand Dean either. I guess I just can't stand his character. I liked Jess better.

Luke is just too adorable. Sookie is too funny - I think she's one of the best characters on there.

I agree on both counts. Now, it's just uncomfortable to watch Rory/Dean.

but I was NEVER a Jess fan. didn't like the character (or the actor actually) at all. Didn't find him attractive at all either.

I wish they had built the Luke/Lorelai sexual tension up a bit more. but I'd be interested to see if the town was right - and Lorelai screws this up, and Luke has to "leave town" as he promised at that town meeting.

I, too, agree that they threw Luke and Lorelai in bed together but it has been 8 years. I would have liked to see their chemistry working up to that but I do like them together and am looking forward to see how they play this out.

I also love Richard and Emily - how cute are they?

And I am so angry about this! I really don't want Christopher back on the show! And what will they do about Sherry & the baby?

And I agree with the others - it's time to end the Rory/Dean relationship. It's uncomfortable to watch and the actors have NO chemistry together IMHO.

I like that Lane still has a story line, did anyone else think she sounded like Mrs. Kim during the scene in the kitchen?

I read in Entertainment Weekly that Dean was only signed on for something like 8-10 episodes this year to tie up his storyline. So, this little "affair" should soon be over. I am anxious to see how they wrap it up though.

:rotfl:

Yes, she did. "I like you. I like you more than a friend and more than a bandmate."

She was SO Mrs. Kim! I love Lane.

I can't even say this..........I missed part of the show. How do we (well, not me, but everybody else) know for sure who the pregnant person it???

I did see Lane channeling Mrs. Kim. :) Very funny!!!

And sleepy Luke (rumpled hair...NO hat).

Thanks!!!

One of our TV channels is re-running the entire series. In one of the first shows, Lorelei is talking about Rory's birth. She named her "Lorelei" after herself. Her reasoning was that fathers always get to name their sons after themselves, so she did that with her daughter.

And Luke in bed -- WOW!! :earseek:

Okay...could life get any better than this??! A Gilmore Girls official thread on the disboards...?? Ahhh! Now I really won't EVER get off of here!

I really love this show. It's such a smart show-what great writers, huh? The wit is fantastic! It's amazing that more people don't know or watch it (or, at least, admit to it!) ;) The characters are great...so funny how they relate to each other. My favorite is Lorelei and Rory-man, if you blink, you miss something. Even DH is slowly becoming addicted-last week he was watching something else and when I realized what we were missing (still haven't gotten used to the fall line-ups yet), he immediately changed it without a word of protest! That's what I call improvement! Dare I say it...I even heard him laugh out loud a few times! :p

I'd love a run-down of this past week's show as I missed it!
:p IVY :p

I had to laugh at this. I am a self-proclaimed TV addict with a whole line up of shows I watch religiously. Gilmore Girls is one of my favorites! I am always trying to get DH to watch my shows with me and he usually refuses. I will yell into him, "Come out here, Gilmore Girls is starting" and he will yell back something about not watching my "stupid shows" yet a few minutes later he will wander out on the pretense of stopping by the kitchen for a snack. Then, he will just happen to wander in and sit down, usually pretending to be doing something else, and stay for the whole show. I too have even caught him laughing a few times.

Then, when the show is over, the complaints start. I don't like Dean, where's Jess, they talk too fast, what a stupid show, blah blah blah. Yet, the next week, the whole process starts all over again. BTW, we were in hysterics at the episode last year when they were doing the test run of the Dragonfly Inn and Kirk was telling Luke about his night terrors. That was hilarious! My DH even came out and watched that part again when it reaired a few weeks ago.
