I don't know why he was freaking out. I called to book a room for the 4 nights before free dining.

For some reason he decided to read my profile. He made a comment about the December trip (which I may end up canceling). Then the August trip I canceled since the date wouldn't work with free dining.

The poor thing just lost his mind when he saw that canceled trip.

Did you all listen to the podcast on wdwradio.com? At the end, the woman hints very strongly that free dining will be this fall. I now feel VERY confident that it will be offered, although probably not on my dates.

I'm in the same boat as you....hopefully they bring in another special package for early - mid August....it's the waiting that hurts...

I think some of the CMs are just cranky. I had one yesterday.

He went on and on about why I should book my complete trip NOW. He kept saying that IF free dining came out I'd be all set. (I know that's wrong)

He said none of the TAs knew anything about the possible free dining (wrong again) because the CMs hadn't heard anything yet.

He said Disney made AAA pull the info they were posting.(Have no idea if that is true or not).

After I told him the name of the program and the rumored dates, he asked if I was a TA.

Again he tried to get me to book the full 14 days instead of the 4 I called about.(August 22-26). For some reason he didn't want to call back book free dining later.

When I refused, he said "Oh well, it's your money you're wasting on phone calls." I responded, "Nope it's Disney's."

Then he wanted to know if I was calling in on a TA line. Nope

When he found out I was using an 800 number, he said as soon as he hung up with me he was going to talk to a supervisor about getting all the 800 numbers shut down.

Wow!!!!! That is awful. I think I may have just asked his name and called and reported that rude behavior. That is definitely not a magical experience that they are wanting guests to associate with Disney.

There has been a couple of dates going around April 7 % 12. Maybe the 4/7 is the date for the Visa Card Holders and the 4/12 is for the general public..

I just called them again....and asked them if Free Dining was going to be offered soon......as expected the CM said "there is no Free Dining".....

I haven't. I guess I just don't see the advantage of booking now. If they don't offer free dining, we'll probably do a 7 night cruise rather than a 4 night cruise/4 nights at DW.


BTW, in the past with free dining, have they required a minimum 4 night stay?

What do you guys think? We're aking our dd who is 2 to Disney during free dining. Do you think I should say she is 3 and buy her a one day pass just to get her the dining. We probably won't use many of the credits but it would be nice for milk and what not...

We were thinking the same thing. We wouldn't use most of her meals just b/c its already so much food. But even if we used it for counterservice meals and snacks we'd more than break even.

Would Disney do it?

ETA : Oh boy, I don't mind paying for one day ticket, but for a 10 day ticket? That would only work if we could have them put it on a different card so we didn't have to use the tickets. Would it work out if we saved the tickets until she was three. Would they expire if we didn't use them or would we have to upgrade to the no expir option for her? That price diff. would make it way cheaper to pay oop for her.

Are there any more suggestions on this?

Yes it was definately around now that the Free Dining came out. I seen it on Mousesavers on the Sunday and I told my friend about it and she booked immediatealy as that was the icing on the cake!! I do believe it was March 31 on Mousesavers as someone else posted. Of course it started 10 after I left Disney and my dh won't go in Aug....scared of the bad weather!!!

My DH doesn't want me to put the deposit down until it's announced! The suspense is killing me!

If the free dining announcement is not made by the 12th though, I will probably just book it! We are going with or without free dining, but free dining will make my checkbook a little happier!

We haven't made our ressies yet either. We are waiting till the 12th or maybe the 14th (have heard rumors of both dates) to see if we hear anything before we book. If we haven't heard anything by then, I will probably just go ahead and book.
I am going whether or not they offer it, but that extra $1200 would sure be nice to have in MY pocket.

I've booked my ADR's but nothing else. We are only going if it is free dining so there was no point in booking the package if/until it comes out. If not we'll be going in Jan so I'll cancel my ADR's when I make them for Jan.

Can you make ADRs without a package reservation? And this far in advanced?
