The Official Free Dining Watch 2007 Thread

Pop pref rooms, 2 rooms, yes AA but dont like the hassle of useing them.
Kids are 16, 12, 11 and 7.

Right now we have 2 rooms pref pop, 10 nights (8-22 thru 9-1), 1 day base (need to add more later) and DDP and it is $4775.00.

Well if you went with AAA it would save 20% off the room or $21.15 per room per night for a total of $423.

Ignoring a AAA discount on the room....

The meal plan for your family of 5 adults and 1 child would cost $205.94 per night so 5 free DDP nights would save you $1,029.70.

You would need to purchase 5 adult and 1 child base tickets (which don't expire if you don't use them) would cost you $416.44.

Seems likes it would be worth it for you to make 2 reservations.

I just calculated that it would cost $922.27 to upgrade one set of base tickets to 10 day tickets. Upgrading both sets of base tickets to 5 day tickets would cost $1,721. It would cost even more if you wanted hoppers so it would definately be worth "saving" the 2nd set of base tickets for use some other time.

If I book a 10 day trip, and length of stay passes are required...will I be able to upgrade those to season passes when I get to WDW? Surely I would be able to do that!!!

Thanks so much "lovesdumbo"!!!! Your are definatly right! I hope having 2 ressie won't be too much of a hassle. i.e. let us keep the same room etc

Thank You! Thank You!

:headache: (insert smilie of me pulling out my hair here...) :furious:

There, now that I've had my tantrum....

Thanks so much for your assistance. Looks like I'm an uber-loser no matter which way I go :lmao:

Repeat after me mirthmaiden: :) I am going to Disney World in August with my family. We will have fun. I am not a loser. I am not a loser. I am not........:cheer2:

There is no length of stay pass. For a package you just need to book 1 day tickets.

Last year we had free dining and I know this was the case. Everyone seems to be mentioning that more limitations may be connected to the free dining this year. Dates already seem to be limited, and I think they could easily require length of stay passes. Which really wouldn't matter except it's time for me to get new season passes so I can squeeze in another trip...lol. Surely they won't stop me from upgrading a 10 day base ticket to a season pass. It's only a 7 dollar difference.

Hello Fellow Disers I've been out of the loop for a few months and trying to catch up. There is No free dining out yet is there? Thanks

Not yet, but we're hoping for an announcement today or tomorrow. Most likely tomorrow. Booking is to begin April 12th...but remember this is a somewhat supported RUMOR still...but TA's are seeing it on their Disney site, so we feel it's on it's way. GOOD LUCK!

I don't think they will change the ticket requirement. The whole MYW theme is based on being able to pick the type of ticket that works best for your family.

I believe the limited dates (for the general public) is due to the success of the UK and bounce back programs.

You're welcome...I envy you! You haven't been watching and waiting for weeks!!!! I wish I could have come in a few days before the announcement...lol...would have saved me HOURS.

Yep, the weeks of speculation...finally, possibly coming to an end soon!
My dh thinks I am crazy, sitting infront of this computer:surfweb: all of the time on these boards..:rotfl:

MY DH and I will be going to the BCV for our second DVC trip. We will be staying in a studio and have invited my son (soon home from Iraq) and his wife. She has never been to the world:sad2: We are going September 9-16.:yay: If they stay with us, that would certainly save them money on the room however they have only been married a year and have never taken a honeymoon. My son can stay at Shades of Green for $79 a night. They can get discounted park tickets, and they will have a car because they are driving from Little Rock. I was wondering if they stayed at a value resort and got free dining if that would be cheaper. They are trying to buy a home so we are looking for the best price! Can someone help me out?

Well, it's April 1st and no Free Dining offers today....thought it might come out in a Disney Visa Promotion. No Luck yet :sad2:

Planning a weeks trip August 18 -24 (or so )...so hoping for Free Dining , but knowing that I'm more than likely too early with those dates. DD and I have to start school/work on August 26 :sad1: :sad1: Still hoping and waiting :surfweb:

I think staying at a value like POP for $84/nite would be cheaper in the long run , with Free Dining Included. It would be such a nice treat to have the Free Dining....a late Honeymoon Treat!!!! Hope they enjoy their trip !:woohoo: Happy Planning :thumbsup2

Thats what I was thinking..POP and free dining! :goodvibes Plus it is a late honeymoon..and my son has been away in Iraq since December! They probably don't want to stay with Mom! They have to purchase a "package" to get free dining?
