The Official Free Dining Watch 2007 Thread

OK, another "kink in the works" question/idea.

I already have my vacation booked with deposit put down ADR's all made. I am going to call 1st thing Monday and re-book with my Disney Visa.

As I understand it, I will have to cancel and rebook. A PP said that they will refund the amount previously deposited and charge the $200 to my Disney Visa..that's fine. Won't it be just as easy to apply the amount I already put down on my deposit towards the newly booked package rather than refund it??

I paid for this deposit with gift cards (used rewards points too) and I do not want them to put the amount back on the gift cards (even though I kept them so it would just be put right back on our package anyway).

Make sense?? I don't see why there would be an issue with doing it this way, just wanted your .02. WHY OH WHY am I so compulsive???:confused3 :lmao:

That is the same thing a CM told me today. Crazy! I asked if they could charge the deposit to my Disney Visa and keep the $200 I already paid by debit and she said they would have to refund it back. What a hassle! She wouldn't let me switch it today either, she said I would have to do it all Monday. I'm really hoping I don't have to cancel and re-book, that I can just modify my existing reservation. I'll know on Monday if I get through on the phone line!

I always just say I am on the dining plan, so I am not paying upfront. Of course I DO get the plan, so that isn't an issue, but if I have booked CRT before I am officially booked at the resort, I still say I am on the plan.

They wanted a ressie number if I was on the dining plan. Said once I got my ressie number that they'd reverse the charge!!! Ugghh, so now I have to wait until Friday (I'm not a Disney Visa holder) to call and make the ressies and then get it reversed for that charge. I suppose I'll have to mail them a check for my deposit since it takes 1-2 business days to get the money reversed (if not longer???). Really a hassle, but I suppose I should be thankful I got CRT, I've not been able to get in there for the past 12 years :( on our first choice. Now if everything else works out, she just put two 9 year olds in the place of the 'mystery' adopted children LOL I really hope it all works out, it's so hard to plan a vacation without knowing what is going to happen during the next 6 months.

What is CRT? Do you have to put down a credit card number just to make dining reservations? My TA didn't tell me that. I thought you could just make ressies.

Cinderalla Round Table meal... Its an expensive 2TS Ressie, but most Kids love it, most adults certainly dont think its worth it, but most kids (mostly girls) LOVE it

It's Cinderella's Royal Table , And Adults love it too!!!

I just called Disney Visa and the rep told me they do not have any information regarding the plan/package deal. She said I would have to call Disney directly on Monday (but yet she gave me the code).

I told her what I've heard about the package and again she told me to call Disney Monday.... :headache:

I already have tickets from a couple of years ago that I never used. I don't need more tickets. I don't want more tickets. I would however, buy one base ticket per person (which would be $142.72 for tickets which comes out to paying $14.27 per day/per person for dining which is not free but not a bad deal).

So I asked her if the tickets were part of the package... again she said she could not (would not?!) answer that question. "You'll have to call Disney Monday" :sad2:

I know everyone wants anwers to the promotion but it hasn't been officially released. I am sure the CMs are also getting different information from their bosses. I am sure some supervisors don't care since they know the information is out but I'm sure there are other supervisors who want their employees to follow the rules. This means the CMs can't say anything about the free dining until it is officially released. So why do guys want to get CMs in trouble.

Lets say Disney cancels free dining at the last minute. How many would be mad because a CM let out details of an event before it was official.

We need to be easier on the Visa and CM who are doing their jobs. Remember, they don't make the policy.

Notice I said most... Not all, if you enjoy it and thinks its worth the high price, good for you
Well we don't really know the accuracy of "most" since we don't have a running survey of how adults feel about it. I do think it's safe to say, though, that if "most" adults really didn't like it, they probably wouldn't be going...kids or not. And yet they do. :) It's a very popular restaurant.

FWIW, DH and I love CRT just as much as (or maybe even more than) our DDs. We do, however, prefer the breakfast over the lunch and dinner there.

Happy Easter everyone!

So I asked her if the tickets were part of the package... again she said she could not (would not?!) answer that question. "You'll have to call Disney Monday" :sad2:
Tickets are most definitely part of the package, they always are. We're not certain that it's one day base tickets as the minimum since the details haven't been released yet, but that's what we're expecting. There was some speculation that Disney might raise it to a 3 day minimum ticket but preliminary information coming in doesn't support that. We'll know very very soon.

OK, now I know what "CRT" means. I am not used to all the abbreviations yet on these boards. HA! The last time we were in Disney we ate at CRT before the MNSSHP. It was good and the kids liked it but no characters were around during dinner. Cinderella was there at the beginning of dinner when we walked in but that was it. I always thought it would be more than what it was. It is pretty tight up there. I would recommend doing it at least once but we will pass this September and maybe to The Crystal Palace or Liberty Tree.

Thanks to those of you who let me know what CRT means. :wizard:

Happy Easter!

:cloud9: TOMORROW IS THE DAY!:yay: FREE DINING SHOULD BE OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED TO ALL DISNEY VISA CARD HOLDERS:rotfl:  :rotfl:  WHO WILL BE WAKING UP FIRST THING (or staying up past midnight) to see if it gets officially announced?:surfweb: My TA should be switching my reservation tomorrow morning. So excited.......:cheer2: Good luck to all of you who are waiting for free dining. I am just wondering if I will get a value resort or the moderate. I told her either one was fine. The wait will finally be over......:hourglass Let's just hope Disney doesn't decide to wait another week! :scared1: Let do a group hug........:grouphug: :flower3:
have a great day!!!!!!!:dance3:

Sorry me again....question...I am asking this for my nephew who is leaving Thursday for Disney. I had previously found a list of all confirmed snacks on the DDP. He will be using the plan (not free, told him to go in Aug/Sept) anyway, is the list accurate and is any snack or most snacks under $4.00 really considered a snack on the DDP? Just want some more input for him (as well as myself) Thanks......again......

Where is this list you speak of? I would love to see it?

On the Disney Dining Plan board there is a sticky that list all the confirmed snacks on the plan.

I have a question and I've been keeping a close watch on this thread and I don't remeber seeing this being asked yet but if you don't reserve monday with a disney visa for free dining will you still be able to get it when it is revealed to the public or is everyone without a disney visa screwed for this deal? I just want to know so I don't get my hopes up. My TA I went with is waiting to see if she can get me free dining and this information would be helpful to know. (Though she will probably tell me if I can't get it monday if the answer to this question is yes the rest of us non visa holders are screwed)

As long as their still rooms left, you will be able to book it after those couples days, but if you have the visa (which I also do :goodvibes ), you will want to book tomorrow
