*The OFFICIAL February 2012 Thread!*

We're not doing anything particularly special for Valentine's Day. We're just planning on going to Animal Kingdom during the day, and then doing some shopping/browsing at Downtown Disney before our dinner reservation at Raglan Road.

Have fun on your trip!! :) This is going to be our first too! Well, our first together, and my first ever. My BF has been 3 times before when he was younger.

Ha, well maybe we'll see you at AK< we'll be there on Tuesday too! :cool1: Wed Epcot and Thurs DHS. Where are you staying?

we're also going to spend Valentine's day at AK and we have ADR at 'Ohanas for diner during the fireworks/ electric pageant :)

We leave on the 12th for our first ever trip! None of us (husband, self and 2 kids) have been so it's going to be magic for us all! SOOOO excited!

What are you guys going to do for Valentine's Day down there?

V-Day will be our 2nd full MK day and we won't be doing anything special, really. We will be eating dinner at Kona Cafe...I have heard the food is delicious there and wanted to make sure we had a great meal on the 14th versus something that may be iffy!

Okay, why did I have to mention that the Michigan winter was not too bad so far? :rolleyes1

A snowy and cold weekend . . . WDW, hurry up please! :woohoo:

I was at WDW lat Valentine's Day. I didn't see anything especially romantic or Valentine-themed going on. :confused3 Kinda weird.

There were some special boxed candies with heart-Minnie-Mickey packaging in World of Disney, but really that's all I remember.

I'll be there on Valentine's Day this year, which also happens to be my SIL's birthday. Neither of our DH's are with us on this trip, so we're planning to focus on the "birthday" part of February 14th more. ;)

We are staying off-property at a villa so we're going to make pink pancakes with strawberries for the kids for breakfast.

Awww man, I hope there is! Even if there isn't I'll just go to the Boardwalk Bakery and pick up some super yummy desserts and say that they are for Valentine's! LOL

Cool! Maybe we will see each other! We're staying at All-Star Music. We're both musicians so it suits us well.

There's a big gymnastics meet starting Feb 17th, and the Barbados Team will be staying at All-Star Music from the afternoon of the 16th - you may run into them (and other gymnasts)! My DD is part of the team, but we are not staying with the others - my parents have gotten a timeshare exchange off-site and we're staying with them.

THIS WEEK. We leave THIS WEEK!!!! Feels good to say that. :cheer2:

Both me and my daughter are sick though so we are praying we get better and no one else going gets it!

We leave Friday after work to start the drive. Arriving at the disney hotel on Saturday.

I got to watch from inside! And the roads aren't bad today. I don't mind the kind of snow we've had this year...snow at night, melt in the sun. Still not looking forward to "real" winter. Y'all can have real winter while I'm in WDW! I will do my best to bring warm temps back with me when I return to A2....or else I'll head south to Arkansas for mid-winter break!

:sad2: uh oh!!! DH threw his back out on Sat, 5 days before our trip! He knows how much planning has gone into this trip, so he's determined to go on it. He's getting better each day, and today, I didn't have to help him at ALL to get ready for work. I think that's a good sign, right? Especially when I think that it took over an hour to move him from one couch to the other (4 steps away) on Sat.

So... I guess this changes a couple of things for our trip... I apparently will be in charge of wrangling all of our luggage. Thank goodness for Magical Express luggage pickup!!! I think this also means that we'll be riding less "thrill" rides during our first few days there and we'll save them for later in the trip when we know DH's back will be better.

Any other advice? Anyone had something like this happen to them before? How seriously should I be thinking about changing our dates? Right now, I'm not really thinking about it because we've been planning on these dates since October. DH and I both had to schedule our projects at work around it, and if we reschedule, we won't be able to get free dining again. AND we didn't get trip insurance.

Thoughts?

Oh man, what a bummer... Has your DH had this happen in the past? Is he usually quick to recover? I too have an iffy back, luckly (knock on wood) its not given me any trouble for a while... I say he needs lots of ibuprofen, heat and rest... Maybe even visit the doctor for some muscle relaxers to help speed things up, and keep him loosened up for the trip... I hope he gets better!

Well Twinie,, I did some rearranging last week, and we too are now eating at the Kona Cafe on Valentines Day :lovestruc our resi is at 6:55. When I sat down and really looked at my schedule I realized that my “flow” was off,, so we changed Tuesday, Thursday & Fridays ADR’s around.

Does anyone know how to find out what recreation activities the resorts are offering (including outdoor movies)? We are only doing two park days on this trip, so lots of time to explore the resorts.

That falls on about half of our stay. Is this one of those things that can be particularly loud that I've seen people talking about? :worried:

This is our first time going to such a large meet, so I have no idea how large groups of gymnasts usually behave. I've never personally seen them rowdy, but we've never been together at Disney! Our team has parents with all the girls except for 3 teens - it's not a group of unsupervised kids.

Anyway, the All-Star resorts are very popular for sports teams, so it's pretty common to have them around. Hopefully they will assign the teams to various sections together so they don't disturb the other guests too much.

Ah, okay... I'm sure it won't be that bad. I tend to worry about things easily. But it's okay... even if they do get a little loud, we'll survive. :thumbsup2

Have fun! :)

Well we will be bumping into you at Kona then! Our ADR is at 7pm...I am really looking forward to trying the Teriyaki Strip Steak that I've heard so much about!

Just paid off Pop for 12 days, bought my annual pass and DS 10 day park hopper, and put money for food on a gift card. Sooooooo ready to go. 22 days!:dance3::dance3::cheer2:

I was really bummed that I couldn't get ADR for California Grill on Valentine's Day during the fireworks, but we did manage to get Narcoosee's, which I hope will be good too. I haven't been there in a while but my parents love it, any thoughts?

I hope to find some cute little romantic things to do that day. Maybe I'll check out the Boardwalk, as I've never done that before. One of my DBF and I's best memories when we started dating was going to the shore on Memorial Day weekend and walking around on the boardwalk so I think he'll appreciate it. He's very emotional (in a good way!) and loves all that cute, sappy stuff. In that way I guess I'm the "guy" in our relationship because I'm typically clueless when it comes to romance! :confused3
