I have never been to WDW in Feb, does anyone know how the weather is?

Only been twice before in Feb. It's a coin toss. Being from the North, you'll most likely have a higher tolerance for the potential chilliness. We've had warm weather, and chilly weather. Come prepared for it all. Have found that even if the day was warm enough for capris/shorts and a lightweight shirt, we'd need to change to jeans and a sweatshirt/hoodie type arrangement for the night. (at this point, you'll see some folks in winter coats and mittens, lol). As our trip gets closer, I'll be following one of those weather sites for predicted weather patterns. My suitcase is always heavier for those Jan/Feb trips, cuz you just don't know...

I have to agree. We were there Feb 19-24 last year and it was warm during the day (high 70's, low 80's) and would get chilly at night (low 50's, high 40's). It's really enjoyable weather if you live in the northern states where there is snow and ice in February!! :)

Hello Liza from Michigan, I'm from Ohio, so the weather sounds PERFECT to me, as I'm sure it does you too. ;) May I just add, off topic, that I visited Holland for a few days back in June, and I am now in love with Michigan! If only I could talk the DH into it. It was beautiful, I can't wait to go a little farther north next time! I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to see the painted rocks! Let me know if you ever need a house sitter :rotfl: ;)

Not such enjoyable weather if you live even further south than Florida, where February highs are always in the 80s and lows are always in the 70s! I have a feeling my group is going to be freezing our tails off!

I live in the Metro Detroit area, nothing beautiful in my area unfortunately.
Northern Michigan is absolutely beautiful and so is western Michigan. If it were warm all year round, there would be no reason to ever travel anywhere!! :)

Another Michigan girl here!

Hi Beth, where in MI?

I'm here, I'm here! Ok we are in the midst of finalizing everything. But the dates are set for Feb 8th-11th. Jurys still out on hotel though. Leaning towards BWI right now.

In regards to the weather questions, we went last year and had fantastic weather! 80's during the day, 60's at night and no humidity. However, the CM's were telling me that the week before they had to crack out the mittens and gloves, so obviously it varies.

Hi, I am another Michigander! I grew up in eastern PA but have lived in MI since getting married almost 47 years ago. It wasn't until our daughter went to Hope College (in Holland) that I considered MI my home. Our son then followed to Calvin College (in Grand Rapids.) Like Lisa said, Western MI and Northern MI are beautiful. It's pretty nice in Ann Arbor where we are also.

I'm looking forward to our first February WDW visit beginning in 90 days. I expect it will be a bit warmer than our 2010 December trip when Orlando recorded record cold days during our week, but you never know.

I'm planning on bringing lots of clothes to layer. We were there last December and FROZE! Luckily we had brought lots of cold weather gear with us, but there were lots of people who were unprepared and the cost of gloves, hats etc in WDW is out of sight!

I don't really own warm clothes. I have a couple of jackets, a hoodie and some old sweaters. The only closed in shoes I have are my running sneakers and an old pair of ankle boots (must check if the sole is still on securely). It's going to be interesting figuring out this layering thing - I'm not accustomed to it. I live in short sleeves all year.

Since the weather is so questionable, when do you all feel comfortable trusting the weather report? (When would you check weather.com for the forecast and feel confident enough in that info to pack?) 10 days before, 1 week before, the night before???

I'm also from the midwest (Indiana - it's pretty flat and boring here) but I agree - Michigan is gorgeous. I LOVE to visit Mackinac Island, and Door County in Wisconsin is a family favorite as well. A completely different kind of vacation from a WDW vacation, but also a great one!

So, being from the midwest, I'm also used to the crazy cold temps. We went to WDW during record low temps in Jan 2010, (during the freezing marathon weekend!), and layers were KEY! I brought tshirts that I could wear by themselves or with long sleeved shirts underneath. We brought our Columbia 3-in-1 parkas - LOVED them for touring - along with hats, scarves & gloves! As the week went on, highs climbed each day and we shed a layer. By the end of the week, we started the morning with just the liners of our jackets, and had them tied around our waists by 10:30.

I hope that this Feb trip is a smidge warmer than that jan 10 trip. By that time though, I'll just be glad to escape the Superbowl crazyness!

10 days before! And checking every day to see if it changes.

I would just pack layers, layers, layers. Be set for every kind of weather! We went last Feb, and we were wearing sundresses, shorts, and tshirts during the day. But at night we would wear pants and sweatshirts.
