The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

Chris- TIME OUT! Whats the kiss goodnight at MK? Tell me all about it

ok it's really cool! I will post the link too...but basically after the park closes, the castle changes colors, & then Mickey basically says "bye" thanks for coming, have a magical night. ....it's just cool

I like the way you think, LOL. I can't WAIT to try one of those amazing-looking cupcakes!! Can't believe I never have!

Where were you thinking? I can't remember at all now where you're staying... :headache:

Okay, I keep wanting to do this and then forgetting -- I'm going to do it right now while I'm briefly remembering, lol. If you're staying onsite, and if you're interested at all, PM me with your dates and your resort, and I'm going to compile a list and post it here so we can see who is at what resort. That way people can easily plan a little get-together maybe, or do some resort-hopping to say hi, or whatever. Or if there's some additional info you'd like me to include in the list, let me know. Totally optional thing, just for whomever is interested!

I'm at POP 2/16-2/22 - I was thinking maybe that first night just for a adult beverage while the kids enjoy sugar :)

I went there last trip just to try a butterfinger cupcake and? They were sold out! I swear they better have them this time. I want one for lunch, and one for breakfast the next day!!! :)

Mail came, and

ITS HERE! My mickey mail came! I cannot tell you how happy I am- and how crazy my son thinks I am after jumping up and down, while screaming "OH YEAH, OH YEAH, ITS HERE, ITS HERE" and then dancing lol:cheer2:

YEAH!!

MK KISS GOODNIGHT-

For the "Kiss Goodnight,"they play an audio recording with music and an announcer wishing everyone a good night (then some character voices join in the "good nights.")

During the audio track, they bathe the castle in various colors and patterns of light.

The whole thing lasts only 3 minutes.

This site posts the show times for the current week,
but they will be "similar" for other times as well.
Near the top of the page, click on the colored links
for the show times at the various parks.

the way down to see the "Kiss Goodnight" schedule for

I could totally do that! What time does Petals close, do you know?

I found out today that my husband had planned a special day for me on Tuesday the 8th of Feb. I have no idea what so ever he has done. He said he called Disney yesterday and talked to someone and that I was going to be very happy with what he planned. The only clues are I will be fed and if we get seperated I am to call him. ( I dearly love my husband but he drops the ball on gifts for birthdays and Christmas) I do know that if he talked to a cm I should be ok.
SO HERE IS MY TRIP SO FAR:
Feb 6-arrive at kidani villas:either watch the superbowl or go to MK for EMH
Feb 7-we move over to the Treehouses :yay: I have a SPA DAY from 8 until ?
I made a res. at the Biergarten at 1pm for my DH and kids, I might make it.
Feb 8- THE DAY HAS BEEN PLANNED BUT I AM NOT ALLOWED TO KNOW :confused3
Feb 9-This is date night. My son is going to Sandcastle Club, I have scheduled a couples massage at 5pm and the dinner at 7:30 in Italy. I can't wait for this night.
Feb 10-MY BIRTHDAY :yay::yay::yay: We have res. at Cape May at 745 then I am sneaking out to get my hair cut at Periwigs at 9am. Then whatever happens... It will be my 40th birthday and I am at my favorite place on earth. :cheer2::cheer2:
Feb 11-We leave Disney :guilty: for home with a stop at Ikea. I just love Ikea!
I am so excited!!!

hmmm, that daily spreadsheet is so nice and simple. Mine is all jam packed with info and color coded -- black for park hours, red for ADRs, green for parades/shows.... DH will take one look at mine and his eyes will roll into the back of his head, lol.

I will be back to post my schedule in case anyone has any comments/ suggestions but nobody is going to be there when I am! :sad2:

Gina - I think the Petals Bar is open till midnight...at least it was the last time I was there (2009) We're both going to MK that day & it closes at 8...so I'm guessing we'll be back at POP by 10? - we can talk about it somemore once we get close...& no absolutes...I know if the kids are wiped & just want to go to bed that's what we'll do...but if it happens to be warm, my kids will be wanting to get back in time to swim for at least a little bit.

Thought I would post my itinerary for you all to see as well! Comments or suggestions are always welcome!!

I am heading out to Target in a few to get Tshirts and Bleach Pens - tomorrow we are expecting 10-16 inches of snow, so I am pretty sure it will be a snow day! I thought what better way to spend it than making MICKEY shirts! I also sent a request for A Bug's Life for Netflix, so that should be here tomorrow! It will be a disney day!

Allison - SO HAPPY MICKEY MAIL ARRIVED! It just makes it so real!

Gina - Great spreadsheets!

prittfamily98- we are both sharing our birthdays on Feb 10th in WDW! WAHOO! Happy Birthday

The kiss goodnight looks awesome! I will have to try to catch it!

So I am planning more (shocking)- finally motivated to really plan out which rides in what order (dont worry- I am actually really flexible if the kids want to do something else- just a crazy disney planner) So what land do you recommend in the MK for afternoon time? Which is typically least crowded during that time? Is tomorrowland CRAZY after lunch? How long do you think the line to tomorrowland speedway will be on a saturday afternoon?

Danielle- awesome plans. I swear we JUST miss each other each day- you go to one park one day, then I go to it the next lol- bummer that we wont cross paths!

I cannot wait to see your shirts- are you using the info from the creativedis board? Let me know how it works out

I'm also trying to plan my attractions/shows specifically. MK is the most difficult. I'll be there on the last day of Toontown so I don't know if it will be crazy or not but I'd like to get those rides done because it will be closed on my 2nd MK day. I'm not sure which rides need FP. I'm also trying to fit in some rides that DH or I will go on alone since DD is too small.

I don't think I have to "plan" anything at Epcot, we'll just start walking. Same with HS, we'll go to TSM first thing and perheps get a FP for a later ride.. For AK, we're headed straight for Kilamanjaro safari.

As I was cleaning the kitchen  I had a thought (of course I was thinking about upcoming trip). so here is my thought/question:

Even if you are on the Dining plan do you still bring in light snack (cheese sticks, crackers or do you just use our snack points. We always share a snack the snacks are so big and the little ones can never eat a whole one and I don't throw anything away. I degressed so sorry getting so excited I am beginning to babble.:rotfl:

We always bring snacks too....even for my kids now at 16 & 11 they still sometimes want a little something...but not a whole big giant snack

thanks that's what I was thinking and with medium ones (5 & 3) they are always hungry while waiting in line.

It is a bummer that we will not be in the same park at the same time. Although - nothing is set in stone, just yet!! I have told myself once I laminate the schedule - that is IT no more changing! So if I can get all my "tips" in order I can get it laminated! I have also started packing/gathering which is helping me to be more excited for the trip!

Yes, I am trying the shirts on the creativedis. I will post pics once I do them!

Anyone else nervous for the weather? I will be so bummed if I leave this frozen state to go to florida and it is CHILLY!! The kids LOVE to swim and I just dont see it in their future!!

You Canadian and northern types will get a kick out of this... Amazingly, we are under a hard freeze warning tonight! Here!! Everyone is freaking out, because of course we're not used to serious cold (and yeah, I know, the 20's would be a heat wave to a lot of you :thumbsup2 ) and everyone has wrapped their pipes and their plants like the second ice age is coming. :rolleyes1

Heck, we don't really even own "winter clothes"... Some long sleeves, some hoodies, that's about it. But it's like 8 billion degrees here for 10 months out of the year, so cold weather wear is never at the top of our minds, lol. But tonight, I'm glad I have a fireplace! Usually I have to crank the A/C down to simulate winter so I can get some use out of it. :thumbsup2

My spreadsheet doesn't sound quite as color coded as yours, but it does have a lot of colors and DH found it quite amusing. But get this, I was "ahem" working on my spreadsheet at work and had an Excel question so I called my BFF over to ask her about it, but first made her promise what she was about to see she had to promise to forget and never speak out loud about. LOL.

Sort of OT, but this bunch seems so nice and knowledgeable so thought I'd ask here. Our flight home leaves at 6:30 PM. We will have a rental car. Wondering what time you would leave WDW for the airport. I like to push it as long as possible, but DH is always a nervous nelly and tries to get me to leave way too early. So thought I'd ask here what people do.
