The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

Did you just go to Southwest on line to find these deals? I'm helping my mom book her trip as well and we always fly out of Detroit and really would love a deal. Are those direct flights or do you have stops? Please let me know cause that is a great deal there :)

Yep, I just checked southwest online everyday. I had originally booked them for $75 each way when they opened the dates but I saw they were down $5 each way a couple days ago and changed to get the travel funds back. The flight there is direct where it stops but we don't leave the plane. The flight back we do stop. They didn't have any direct flights to choose from that day for some reason. About 8 different choices, all with stops. We don't mind it though, especially when we can actually find a good deal amongst all of this crazy high airfare! A couple years ago we barely paid $100 a person roundtrip. This is getting out of hand. I agree, Gina, it's not helping the tourism sector at all when people can't afford to fly. I love southwest for no bag fees because that saved us a couple hundred dollars too! Good luck on the search. It helps to fly during the week I've noticed. We were flexible.

About flights, we're flying southwest out of Detroit and I think we were pretty lucky to snag $69 each way especially since there aren't bag fees. I'm thinking we're gonna need all 8 bags with so many different possible layers of clothing! Yikes! I'm pretty happy with the price though!

I think I would pass out if I found airfare to MCO for $69 each way. :rotfl:

As we are the completely other side of the country, I was excited to find out tickets for $250 each round trip. Yes there are layovers, however, its WAY cheaper than when we went in July. Plus, I dont have to fly out of LAX which is a HUGE relief for me, as I am not a happy airport person.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. :dance3:

DD3 will not be 40" for sure but there is a chance she'll be 38" (which will iclude a couple extra rides, but not much). She's 36.5 now, without shoes. She has grown an inch since August, so it'll be a close one!

Hi guys! Hope y'all had a good weekend!

I spent yesterday getting older... lol... Although my sweet DS made me a card that said "Happy 23rd Birthday!" Am I training him right, ladies, or what?? :thumbsup2

And my dear friends met DS and I for dinner last night, and they brought me PINK Disney princess cupcakes. They know me well!! :goodvibes

Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Hi Shunasee, one way from Calgary to Orlando direct $660.00/ea

We are going Feb 17-21 staying at POFQ. I keep hearing different things about the crowd levels, and I'm a little worried. We went the week after Easter last year. How would it compare to that?
It will be my kids second visit, and our first time staying on site. We got the free dining deal, and can't wait to use it!

Happy late birthday Gina!!:flower3:

Welcome DLB!

I scored a super cute Aurora dress (genuine Disney) for $10 at a local 2nd hand store, it has a small tear on the bodice that I can fix, but otherwise it is in great condition! It's a little bit big for DD, but at least she's not tripping over it :) A penny saved is a penny earned to help pay for our trip!!

Gina - Happy Belated Birthday!!

Ron - oh my goodness thats a whole other trip just for airfare!

Thanks for the birthday wishes!! :grouphug:

I was listening to my "Four Parks One World" cd's on the drive in to work this morning, and had a huge grin on my face by the time I got here. Now I'm listening to park music on Live365, and the grin just keeps going... Right now I'm riding the monorail around the resort loop. Por favor mantengase alejado de las puertas! :cloud9:

Interesting update!! Saw this thread on the Resort board... according to this new pin email some people are getting, the dessert party is definitely being extended! I just called Disney (of course, you know I had to ) and a really nice CM looked and looked in her system for any news. She couldn't find any, and neither could her supervisor, but she said they have been having the party every night since it was extended because it is so wildly popular, and she was pretty sure they would be extending it and that the new promotion was pretty good proof of that. She said it's probably just not loaded in their systems yet, but to keep trying. Maybe we won't have to wait until December to find out, after all!

That would be fabulous! I call once a week, I am sure they are getting sick of me. :rotfl:

I will just keep calling and let you guys know if I find anything out.

Yup, our flights from Regina are pretty much $277 each way (plus fees, taxes, etc) and those are the CHEAP flights! AND they're not direct - have to go through Toronto. Don't get me wrong, I fly through Toronto all the time on the way to meetings etc, but TO airport in January/February makes me nervous, because it doesn't take much weather to make things a madhouse there! But I prefer to fly Air Canada than any of the american airlines (baggage charges, are you kidding me?? and no tvs??) so I think I'm stuck with that one. I thought about Calgary but I would have to go WestJet and couldn't use my aeroplan miles...

Now, does anyone know what the weather is like in Florida in Feb?:confused3

I hear it can be as low as 50 or as high as 86, from one day to the next. Average highs around 70-ish. The general concensus: be prepared for anything and lots of layers :)

I'm bringing a couple tanks, couple t-shirts, couple capris, couple jeans, one fitted hoodie, one loose fleece to fit over that and one light jacket. Also a couple dollar store rain ponchos. One pair of sandals, one pair of closed toe shoes and one pair of pool flip flops. I'm Canadian and I will go swimming no matter what! :rotfl: I will be leaving below 0 temps so bring on the sunny weather!
