Rumor is the Oscars are back to "normal" finally! (Except all the guests & presenters had to get TWO Covid tests as well as be vaccinated to attend.)

We only have two award shows this year. This one is longest, hopefully the best, live award show of the season. This is when they put on the best dresses.

THREE hosts this year: Amy Schumer, Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes popcorn::

Danny Glover will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.

Everyone is invited. Newbies welcome! :welcome:
You know the drill if you've attended before. Load up on munchies & drinks, wine & booze are welcome. :drinking1 Including the Red Carpet, it's 6-1/2 hours depending on when you tune in and how long you stay. Drop in and out at any time.

We have two Red Carpet channels this year. (ABC usually has exclusive coverage when they start airing their Red Carpet. Then E! will then show rerun footage of the dresses and the hosts just start talking amongst themselves.)

Start times:
East Coast (ET):

The Red Carpet starts at 5:00PM - 7:00 (ET) on E!
The Red Carpet starts at 5:30PM (ET) on ABC.
The Award Show starts at 8:00PM (ET) on ABC.

West Coast (PT):

The Red Carpet starts at 2:00PM - 4:00 (PT) on E!
The Red Carpet starts at 2:30PM (PT) on ABC.
The Award Show starts at 5:00PM (PT) on ABC.

This will be a NO SPELLING & GRAMMAR POLICE THREAD!

The Spelling Police will be off duty and possibly slurring their own typing by the end of the evening. Typos allowed! :woohoo: :drinking: :drinking1 And if your posts are still making sense by hour 3, you aren't sloshed enough. Or, we are as toasted as you are! :lmao:

Let's have another fun evening! party: :jumping1: :rainbow:

A little heads up for newbies: The Red Carpet segment goes really quickly on this thread. People are typing like crazy all at the same time, seeing different dresses.

If you post something or ask a question and it seems to get ignored, :( you are NOT being ignored. Everyone is just watching, typing & posting so quickly before the dress goes off the screen. We do most of the reading, scrolling back & posting back to each others' comments during the COMMERCIALS! :surfweb: Your posts will get a response then. :hyper2:

Once the show starts, it slows down to a more comfortable pace. Just hang in with us! It's going to be a great evening. :hyper2: :lmao:  :sad2: :thumbsup2

I don't even recognize 90% of the nominated. Most years I at least recognize the names!

I saw a news clip yesterday that said there are more nominated Netflix movies this year than in other years. Along with many other movies that people watched streamed, even when they were able to go back to the movie theatres to watch.

Still, I haven't watched a single one even streamed. Just wasn't feeling it. I'm definitely here for the dresses this year. :ssst: And of course, to get a list of what to watch later on.

Imzadi, I'm with you. I don't feel interested in most of these movies but maybe I can go back and watch a few. :bored:

I’ll be in & out tonight. I’ve seen quite a bit of these, so am excited to see who wins. Hoping we see some fabulous dresses tonight.

Okay, here we go!

I like the gown on the girl who was in King Richard playing Venus Williams. (I don't know her name.) She's 15 and she looks so pretty in all the colors.
