The Official DIS Oscars LIVE PARTY Thread!!! TONITE: Red Carpet 5pm ET / 2pm PT

A little heads up on the latest scandal, in case you guys haven't heard:

I was really happy to find that Ryan Seacrest is still doing E!'s Red Carpet. I was worried that when he signed with ABC for Live With Kelly & Ryan and for American Idol, that they may have made him leave E! and do their Red Carpet. Nope, he's still on E!

However, a few days ago, his former stylist came out with MeToo allegations that he was sexually harassing her and being very inappropriate.

E! said they've investigated and can not find any evidence to back her accusations. That's kind of normal though. A lot of work sexual harassment & abuse happen when there are no witnesses around.

Ryan says she's made these allegations before, saying her claims will go away if he gives her millions of dollars to go away.

Kelly Ripa has publicly announced her support to Ryan on Live.

On the one hand, I'd like to believe her and support all the MeToo victims who courageously come forth. . . . However, I think most of us know there may be some people may use this movement to lie and hurt people, or to garner attention for themselves - and get money.

I find this stylist's timing a bit suspect. :scratchin The MeToo movement has been going on for about 5(?) months now. She waits till the week before Ryan's 2 biggest events (the Oscars and the premiere if AI,) to come out with the allegations? While I get she may want revenge & retribution against Ryan if he really did do what she accuses him of, she is also potentially ruining things for two networks too, at the last minute: ABC & E!, as they have to scramble to figure out what to do with this Ryan situation.

As for tonight on the Red Carpet, a lot of female stars who've supported the MeToo movement may skip talking to Ryan, (preferring to speak to Guiliana instead.) There is worries by the producers that some may confront Ryan about the situation, on live TV. And so, last I heard - few days ago, the producers are limiting his interviews and possibly PRE-recording some with some stars ahead of time, so they know what is said and there will be no live surprises.

Wow! I HAVE been hiding under a rock. Haven't heard or caught up about this at all. Thanks for the head's up.

Are capes 'in' at the moment?

Between G and Sofia carson, I'm feeling underdressed.

Maybe it's a secret superheroes thing. :scratchin I've read superheroes that fly really need a cape to be able to steer & fly correctly.

I'd love to say......Me Too.......but I don't have a cape.

:duck:

It always amazes me that the producer of LaLa Land knew to hold up the card for the real winner, Moonlighting, for the camera to zoom in for a close-up. That must be an instinctive movie producer thing to do. :thumbsup2

I'm here having my pre-show dinner. Tuna melts. LOL

I am wearing a lovely blue ensemble with minimal jewelry since my top is blinged out.

I heard they were putting Ryan on a 30 second tape delay. I like G's dress tonight. She has a nice tan going on and the dress color looks good with it.

LOL. I'm in pink.

We must have missed the 'skin tone colour' memo.

I like her dress, but there is a bulge in her midsection that's bugging me. It looks like she's wearing high - waisted underwear that are rolled down a bit.

She is soooo thin I think that they have added bulk to the middle of her dress so it's not so apparent how thin she is

I like to watch the red carpet, but that's about it. I haven't seen any of the movies.

This event has turned to political for me. Seems tonight there will be a lot of MeToo conversation.

Wolfgang Puck sounds like he's losing his voice.

Diane Warren looks like she has a case of bed head.

I saw “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.” That's about it for nominees. While Frances McDormand was great in it, she was kind of one-note to me. But, she might win, because the "strong woman protesting for change," is the movement going on now, and her character reflects that.
