I guess the problem I have is that fans of both schools are so vitriolic towards each other. I mean, I don't like OSU, and I really couldn't stand Miles when he was there, but in the end, they are just a bunch of kids who are working hard and playing a game. Name calling and sarcasm is so unnecessary. We should be proud of our own teams, and not try so hard to tear down everybody else.

If it makes you feel any better, I didn't like Miles either. He really showed his true colors towards the end of last season. Gundy's got more class in his pinkie finger than Miles had in his entire body.

My apologies for whatever happened to you in Stillwater. It's a shame both schools' supporters can't have a little more class and keep things on the field.

Well, I tell you what then, let's agree to disagree on the whole OU/OSU issue, but we can agree to both love Disney and maybe to root for whomever plays against Miles and LSU! (kidding! Well, sort of!) :earboy2: :wave2:

:rotfl2: Agreed. As long as you don't force me to wear crimson and cream, I can be your friend. :earboy2:

Funny story...DH and I were in the Orlando airport coming home on January 2nd. We were sharing a flight with a ton of LSU fans, and they'd just gotten the word that LSU had hired Miles. They couldn't quite figure out why DH and I weren't upset at losing such a classy guy. :confused3 Guess maybe they'll figure it out eventually. I'll continue rooting for Miles to be successful as he deserves to be...that ought to be enough of a hex to drop them in the polls. :teeth:

I am home alone watching Alabama beat the crap out of Florida!! The first Saturday that DH has had to work in about three months, and he's missing this game!!

I have worn a hole in the floor pacing, screaming at the top of my lungs, my neighbors think I'm crazy! I keep calling my dad and yelling ROLL TIDE!!!

I might take my Alabama flag and run up and down the street singing the Alabama fight song. Then you all can visit me in the padded cell!

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLL TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brody Croyle is the real deal, and that was a FABULOUS game! A gator loss is always reason to celebrate. :cheer2:

HAIL TO THE VICTORS!!!!!

I'm a Wolverine fan trapped in Wisconsin with all these Badger supporters.

Sounds great to me, 'cuz I won't be wearing any orange, either!! :crazy2:
I loved your Miles story; did you see his face after they lost to Tenn. in overtime? Priceless!

BTW, have a great time on your Dec/Jan trip! We just booked for Jan 14-21 last night and I am so excited! :Pinkbounc

I did see his face...would love to see more of that expression throughout the season. :rolleyes1

Have a great time on your trip, too! Looks like we'll be overlapping a bit. We're flying out of DFW on January 7th and heading back home on the 17th. We had originally booked at Wilderness Lodge, but after back surgery and everything in the house falling apart over the past 3 months, we're scaling back a bit and going to DD's favorite, All Star Movies. DD6 has no clue about the trip, but we've told DS2 :earboy2: . First plane trip for the kids, so I feel sorry for the poor souls who are seated next to us. :)

Nebraska fan all the way!!! 4-0 so far. Got the surprise of my life 2 weeks ago when I answered the phone at work and was talking to Irving Fryar who used to play for Nebraska!!! Nearly fell out of my chair!

So who's got a good matchup coming this weekend?
I will be at a wedding so will miss our Big East opener - Uconn vs Syracuse

What, no trash talk this week ? Where are all the UGA / UT fans ? The Nebraska and Texas Tech folks ? The State Penn..er...Penn State and Bucknuts ?

Can I get a Rutgers fan ? :teeth:

I'm cautiously optomistic about PSU in Happy Valley this weekend -- I don't want to get too jacked up about it, since PSU's still really not played anybody this season to prove that they can hang with OSU.

Where are the UGA Fans????

We are preparing the tailgating feast! Well at least we are here! And the Vols are trying to tune their banjos so they can play Rocky Top. If it is trash talking you are looking for no way not gonna jinx this win. :rotfl:

GO DAWGS! SIC'EM!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Bob - Hey, don't sell the New JoePa short :teeth: Granted, Minniesoda isn't OSU, but they're a pretty solid team, and the Nitwits..er..Nittany Lions just dismantled the Gophers last week. I'm not sure you're quite "there" yet to be able to really give the Bucknuts a run for their money, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was a closer game than I'd ever have suspected in the preseason.

Tigger - My best friend is an HUGE UGA fan, and he's driving me nuts talking about the game this weekend...lol...Earlier this year, I thought that the Cocktail Party would be for all the marbles in the SEC East, but after Florida got trounced last weekend (and how much fun was that, by the way ;) ), it looks like it may just be this game. I'll tell you the same thing I told my Dawg friend: If Shockley can keep from making stupid mistakes, I think you're in good shape. The Dawgs will go as far - and only as far - as Shockley can carry them.

They've definitely got a shot -- there's a lot of things working in their favor. OSU has a history of playing badly A. after a bye week, B. in night games and C. in Beaver Stadium. A nice trifecta for Nittany Lion fans. It should (hopefully) be a really good game Sat. night.

That's all I can hope for...Back in the day, I used to hate PSU with a passion. But since we haven't played in so long (which I hate, by the way), I've lost some of that hatred towards the Nits....and I have never been a fan of worthless nuts (Q: What is a Buckeye ? A: A worthless nut.), so I won't be rooting for them, either. I'm anxious to see if PSU is actually for real, and this should answer that question definitively.

I hate that PSU and WVU don't play anymore too -- but then again, back in the days they played, it was because I knew it was one game in the win column every year for PSU. ;) :teeth:

I actually root for OSU all games but one each year -- it's hard not to root for them when you live in Ohio (then again, there's my buddy, born and raised in Columbus, who's a Michigan fan :confused3 :confused3 ).

Now Notre Dame, that's a different story. :teeth:

It was, at one time. 'Course, then we caught you and started beating you...and suddenly, the series ended. Wonder if there was a connection there ?

See...I usually root for Michigan in the Big Can't Count Conference. The last few years, I've started watching - and liking - Michigan State quite a bit too, just 'cause of the style of football they play.

Should be a fun weekend, though. After our game, the ones I'm most looking forward to are the two we've been talking about - OSU @ PSU & UGA & UT (and ain't it a shame that the other UT isn't going to get even a little bit of a test out of Oklahoma this weekend ? Oh how the Mighty Sooners have fallen. :teeth: )

Now, don't be too sure of that! Yes, Texas is awesome this year, and OU's performances have been less than stellar, but that all goes out the window when it comes to this rivalry. There is so much emotion involved and even though we probably won't win this game (although I've been saying that for the past five years :teeth: ), I wouldn't bet too quickly that OU won't try to make a game of it. And, I'm pretty sure the "Mighty Sooners" will rise again next year; our guys are just young and inexperienced right now. We have too much talent to stay down for long.

I'm off to pack! We leave for Dallas at 2:00!
