Since I know for a fact that I'm far from the only college football nut here on the boards, I thought maybe we could get a little healthy trash talk goin' from all the fans out there. :teeth:

So...Who's your favorite team...Who's your worst enemy....How badly are you going to beat them this weekend.....That sort of thing.

As for me...obviously, I'm a Mountaineer fan...Our worst enemies are Virginia Tech, Pitt, and Marshall (even though we don't play them 'till next year). As for how ugly it's going to be for Virginia Tech this weekend...well, this will be the 2nd out of three years that we've ruined their overblown national championship hopes, and I am REALLY looking forward to it!!!

I'm a Miami Hurricane fan and our worst enemies are the Florida Gators. We already were beat by our other in-state rivals the Florida State Seminoles :(
I also root for the Florida International Golden Panthers. That is my daughters' team.

Tennessee Vols and our worst Enemy appears to be Florida. Althought my personal is which ever team is being coached by Steve Spurrier... (I personally think he is just sleazy!)

Funny thing is I have been a USC fan since OJ played. I got to see them play in a kickoff classic once in the Meadowlands (Giants Stadium). Anyway I am loving the last few years of USC football and I love Pete Carroll.

I also like Penn State and Maryland. DS got to see the Terps play in 2 bowl games while he went to school there.

The one team I totally cannot stand is Notre Dame and I hope USC kicks their butt again this year.

UConn fan here though we're not that great in football. Don't think we have any official enemies for football yet. (We're too busy beating up on all our basketball enemies!) I don't think we play you guys until much later in the season and I'm sure you'll win! So congrats in advance :earboy2:

1 - Miami better look out for the South Florida Bulls this week. I couldn't believe what they did to Louisville last weekend.

2 - I always thought UT's natural rivalry would be Georgia. My opinion, but I really think the SEC comes down to UGA and Meyer's Gators this year, though UT could still figure into it. I just don't trust Fullmer in big games. :)

I always figured you guys and BC would be perfect rivals...too bad the traitors had to run and hide. :teeth: That's ok, though...they're getting theirs in the ACC these days. Personally, I plan to thoroughly enjoy watching them get beatdown every week. :rotfl:

And nobody is beating USC this year. That team ought to be playing on Sundays instead of Saturdays. They could probably give a handfull of NFL teams all they could handle. Just scary good.

Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. Watching them climb out of the depths of mediocrity at the moment. :worried:

Our worst enemy - depends which Nebraska fan you ask. The usual answers are Colorado, Kansas State, Oklahoma and Texas. Texas Tech putting a "whippin" on us last year, so they're probably in this category too.

This weekend - playing Iowa State. They beat us last year, so we're really motivated to return that favor this year. Hope that the defense stays strong and the offense shows up!! Go Big Red!!

Texas Longhorns! Hook-em! DW & I have season tickets. Most Longhorn fans would disagree with me, but I'd rather beat A&M than OU. Actually, I'd RATHER beat both!

Tough game at Missouri this weekend...

I do have to agree it would be nice to watch all those traitors get their butts kicked in the ACC. But hey works out for UConn because VTech and BC were def better than us.
We were flying home from DL on Sat and when I saw the score for Louisville-S Florida I thought they switched the scores!! :confused3

Jimmie - I think you guys MAY just get past the Sooners this year. :teeth: Although, with Mack Brown as your coach, that's certainly not a given. ;) Just givin' ya' a hard time...Actually, after OU in the Big 12, I usually pull for the Horns.

Princess - I'd agree that UCONN has a ways to go to get where the Chokies are, but I'd say you're already pretty close to BC. They probably still have the lead, but I don't think it will last long with them finishing in the cellar of the ACC every year...lol

Penn State fan by birth, Ohio State fan by residence. :teeth:

I figure I should get all my :cool1: :cool1: done now about PSU's 4 and 0 record, since the rest of the season could be REALLY ugly!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Auburn fan checking in....but most likely won't be able to trash talk after this weekend...got a bad feeling about it!

that was a great game monday night--I can't believe UT won!

Ehh I don't know about that... they beat us up pretty well last time we played. We're hoping that Pitt keeps going on their downward spiral so we can take the #3 spot in the Big East.

Huge Huge Huge CLEMSON fan! :cheer2: :cheer2: Go Tigers!!! (and please WIN a game, they keep losing in heartbreakers!)

Also LOVE Notre Dame.... I guess it's a Catholic thing... :cheer2: :cheer2:

Biggest Clemson enemy---there are two.... Univ. of South Carolina! (I'd put USC, but then ya'll would think Southern Cal!) Nasty ole Gamecocks! Enormous Rivalry!

But I hate most of all.... Florida State and Bobby Bowden pirate: and their stupid "chop" song, and everything about Florida State!!!!!!!!!!

Notre Dame enemies....I don't know..... pick a team!

I'm SOOOO glad it's college football season!

Well, it's a well-kept secret :rotfl: but I guess I can tell all of you... I'm an Iowa Hawkeye fan and I bleed black and gold. Since we live in Minnesota I love it when we beat the Gophers. I hope we beat the Illini this weekend because I'll be there! :cheer2:

Just take a look at my username and you'll know!

GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

As for rivals, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia Tech.

I'll reserve my trash talking until a little later in the season! :rolleyes1

You just might get your wish this year. Have you seen any of the Sooners preseason games? Let's just say bwah hah ha ha (that's my evil laugh). The only thing better around here than when Oklahoma State wins is when the Sooners lose, and that's happening a lot this year. It's always entertaining to watch their "loyal fans" cut tail and hide. :rotfl:

Saturday should be a good one (VT fan)... :)

Oddsmakers disagree with you, but do know a hostile stadium....

Going to VT/Miami later in year with good friend Mark, who is big Miami fan.

I’m a rarity, a U of MN Golden Gophers fan!

The Gophers have been down so long we don’t have real heated rivals, however, it’s always fun to beat our neighbors from Wisconsin and Iowa because so many natives of those states have fled their homeland (hard to blame them!) to live our Midwestern oasis, and they get a little feisty when they beat us!

And, like everyone else in the Big 10, the rare victories over Michigan and OSU are fantastic! I might deny saying this at the end of the season, but I believe we’ll beat at least one of the two this year.

Can I go off on a brief BCS-related rant? We haven’t been to the Rose Bowl in over 40 years, and my great fear is that when (not if!) we finally win a Big 10 championship, it will be in a year when the Rose Bowl hosts the national championship game, and we’ll end up stuck in a 2nd tier bowl game!
