The Official Dec. 2010 Code Watch

Bluechic I just want to say that I had that same baby ticker on my screen and loved it...now my little guy's going to be a year old on the 25th and I get soooo sad every time I see one of those tickers :sad1:. Congrats on your new addition though! My little man's about to meet Mickey for the first time this year...can't wait! The monorail will be nice with a stroller and all...

I have no desite to stray at the Contemporary, so I would go with WL....but if you want to stay there and your DH is all for it, I would go with thempark view!

Yes We have stayed at WL before, Ive stayed at the Contemporary back in the 80s so I really wanted to try it again. DH says hes OK with it because he likes the idea of the monorail with the little one. I just worry about a high balcony with the baby, am I crazy? :scared1:

Awww Happy B-day to your little one! Im having a boy as well :) I think the monorail will be great with the baby, and thats DH's selling point for the Contemporary!

YAY!!!:cool1: Go with the Theme Park View -- that's what I booked. I figured I'd never have a good deal like this again.

Keep up posted on the arrival of your little one. Congratulations!:lovestruc

Looks like we are going to be there at the same time, see ya at the pool! You are right about never having this good of a deal again....Plus you only live once! I think I am convinced :cool1:

I am soo bummed! I called and there was no pin code on my name or my fiances name :sad1: . We are planning on going for our honeymoon and really dont want to stay at an all star resort, so I really want a pin code!!! Oh and we both really want to do MVMCP!! I have heard from some that it is worth it to go, but some say its not so I dont know...

i have a job where i work overnight, and there really is nothing to do, so i spend all my time planning vacations, so yes, i think about this trip every day as well. i finally caved and started my PTR too. i figured my family was getting tired of me telling them all the thoughts i was having, so i'd post them instead! :rotfl2:

we are planning on doing mvmcp as well, i'm waiting to hear the dates!

here's the link to my PTR- is that how i link it? hmmm doesn't look right, but oh well!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! I GOT THE CODEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I'm so EXCITED!!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

I just called Disney to check on AAA rates....we are booked at the Dolphin right now but DH really wanted WL so I called to compare...and I said hey any chance there is a PIN code for me? And the lady said Yes but I dont think the dates are for when you want to go...oh wait YES THEY ARE...WHAAAAATTT??????? I cannot believe it!!!!! :cool1::cool1:

We are holding a Contemporary Garden View King room at 222/night right now but there is also a WL Woodsview at 165/night I cant decide! There is also a Contemporary Theme Park view at 264/night What do you guys think????? Is the theme park view worth it???????

My husband thinks I'm nuts for how excited I am...Especially being overdue with our baby, he said "you are more excited about Disney World than the baby at this point" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: not true, but close :rotfl2::rotfl2:

For that difference, I'd be all over the Contemporary Theme Park view. Everyone should do that at least once. It is so awesome to watch the fireworks from the balcony in your jammies. It's alwo awesome to wake up and see the castle in the early morning light in the distance.... LOVE that golden early morning light....

This was telephoto, but from our balcony....

It didn't open for me. Anybody else?

Very odd. The link worked when I opened it from the message I get sent to my inbox saying someone has posted to the thread.

However if I try it from the thread it doesn't work.

:confused3

Go to your PTR thread and copy and paste the URL at the top of the page

We're planning on going Nov. 28-Dec. 5. Has anyone ever been the week after Thanksgiving? What's it like that time of year? weather? crowds? We did get a good pin and are booked at Ft. Wilderness cabins right now, but I may switch the ressie to 2 rooms at CB if I get a free dining pin later on.

This is my official first post, hope I'm going about it correctly!:confused3

We are planning a trip 12/10 - 18 to both Universal and WDW as an early high school graduation celebration from my son and his friend. I would love to join the official code watch!

Our last trip was in December 2006 for a friend's Disney Wedding, we stayed at POR. Everything was beautiful. We can't wait to return! Prior to that we stayed onsite in 1999 at All Star Music.

Trying to weigh the benefits of the dining plan - never done that before. And would love to get a lodging discount to try out a new resort at a resonable rate. Seems there are more questions than answers at this point!

Love reading about everyone's experiences, so thanks for your posts!:goodvibes

Welcome!
I would say look into the dining plan. If you are taking 2 teenage boys...they eat alot, and the dining plan may be a great benefit for that reason. You can do buffets and they can get what they want at restuarants without you going totally broke. Plus they will get a CS and snack each day. You could bring along a few items for breakfast too. We usually bring granola bars (my dd loves those) and some muffin type things. But many bring along poptarts and cereal too.
I know if I brought along my son who is 21, I would do the plan and tell him, he can he what he wants from the plan but after you use your credits up, you are on your own. LOL!

hey guys, i am just updating. we did get a 30%pin for room at pop:)but we are still hoping for dining pin. we would like to stay in a mod, but we are in 2 trains of thoughts, we have an oppurtunity of going to stay offsite in a condo... for free :scared1:so we have a room reserved and are waiting for dining codes to see ,,, do we stay on prop or off, not sure yet will keep planning though

Last time we did not qualify for a dining plan because of the room discounts for the wedding. We packed a suitcase of breakfast items and snacks, watched every penny, and only ate one "meal" each day. I kept my receipts and we did not save anything over the cost of the dining plan.

We are renting a car this time. With the slower time of year and knowing we were finished in the parks by mid afternoon - I'm wondering if I can do better on the cost of dining by leaving WDW property and trying to use area coupon books. Not sure if that will be too much hassle, though.

Trying to remember everything I've read about discounts. If I happen to get a room discount, that can't be combined with free dining (is that right?)

I'd really like to try the Polynesian or Contemporary - but without breaking the bank to do it!!! I just keep reading and hoping to learn a thing or two!
