The *OFFICIAL* CVS Thread - Post your CVS deals/questions here. *UPDATED OP*

Hi there...I'm a tad confused :confused3
I went onto the CVC site...put in my Extra Care # and up popped my info.
It says I have quite a bit of $$ in in my point balance. Question....is that $$ there for my use? and how do I redeem it? It also says it expires on 3/16. Could use some help! thanks!

Your point balance is how much you have spent in one quarter. The quarter ends March 16, a few days later you will get ECB that will be 2% of what you have spent for the quarter. The previous quarter I spent about $1100 and my ECB's came to $24 plus some change.

Do you know that for every 2 prescriptions you get $1 in ECB? Always use your card even if you are only buying some gum, it all adds up.

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this one but still a question...When you get points each quarter it is for total sale amounts before using ECB's to pay for it right? So if my bill is $25 and I use $20 in ECB's and only pay OOP $5 I get point credits for the $25 right :confused3

Another question...If I have a CVS coupon (I have a couple for 1.00 off Lady Speed Stick)- Can I combine that with a mfg coupon to save more on 1 item?

just wanted to post 2 deals I came across..

I went to 2 different CVS stores and they both had these deals.. Not sure if its something just by me, but worth it to check out..

I found Soft & Dry deodorant for $1.65 on clearance with the recent $1 off coupons it makes this .65!! There are some normal priced ones that are a tiny bit bigger, but the one for 1.65 is a little smaller.. Not trial size, just not as large as the ones .. its like a normal size whereas the other one is just larger I think..

also Nice n easy hair color #120A- Natural Dark Golden Brown- $1.65! There were $2 off coupons a few weeks ago off 1 box and another coupon for $5 off 2!.. so either way its a money maker.. Last week I believe they also had the $2 ECB so I made money on it last week both ways.. I went back yesterday and got a few more.. I didnt get the ECBs but I still made money on this one! There were a few other shades in blonde, but this one is my natural color..

Yes the total credits are for what you spend before you use any coupons.

You can combine a mfg coupon with a store coupon, you just can't use 2 mfg coupons on one item.

I got this coupon for emailing the Scrubbing bubbles website asking why my automatic shower cleaner did not come with a rack like I saw on the commercials (apparently I bought an older model??). And they sent me the free coupon for my "trouble".
E-mailing now. ;)

I like CVS.

My daughter is still on nutramigen formula and it is EXPENSIVE. They have been putting it on sale- plus using the $4 off a $20 coupon makes it a pretty good deal.

I try and be very good and only buy what I need and will use. I won't buy things I normally wouldn't buy. For example, Irish Springs was a good deal, but I use Dove, so even though it is a very good deal, I won't buy it.

I combine manufactures coupons with my purchases, and that helps even more.

This week I bought Oil of Olay Lotion (had manu. coupon), dawn dish soap (had manu coupon), dora bandaids and diapers (had manu coupon).
I also had a $3.00 off coupon if you spent $15- so I got the above for $12.76.

While I definitely agree with this statement, depending on the item, if it is "free" or I come out a little ahead with coupons and/or ECB's, I will pick up an item that my sons class will use (think purell, clorox wipes, etc.) or things that I can donate to family services, food banks, etc. (like the soap). My sons school has several collections throughout the year for less fortunate families in our town. So sometimes I will buy an item not normally on my grocery list because it is free.

Okay, Just got back from CVS. But I think I have to go back , either I bought the wrong alavert or was over charged...

2 Quattro Razer Blades at $10.29 each
2 Pantene trial sizes at $.99 each
2 Alevert should have been $6.99 were 11.99

Minus a $ 4 off 20 coupon
2 $6.00 coupons for the alevert
and a $2.00 coupon for....oh wait, they didn't ring up my Oust....
And a $20 dollar ECB

Total out of pocket $1.11

I couldn't find the Listerine Tooth Defense so I asked when I got ready to check out. The guy went to get it for me and apparently I wasn't paying close enough attention because he got two bottles - it's a limit one ECB so I ended up returning the 2nd bottle later in the day.

Also I tried to get the BOGO 50% off BIC shavers. They both rang up full price and no discount. It wasn't an ECB offer, either. So I returned the 2nd pack. DH needed shavers so he kept one pack.

I couldn't find the toothpaste either, but eventually found it on an endcap. I haven't been shopping CVS for very long - I can tell it will take me a while to learn the store and what the specials REALLY are, etc. And how to read the receipts and make sure I don't panic when I think I'm supposed to get instant $ off (for using my card) vs what is coming as ECB's.

FWIW, I asked about using multiple ECB's on a single order (when I printed them off my PC, they said "limit one offer per order") and I had to split my order as I had two ECB's.

Thanks to this thread I knew about the trial size Pantene's working - so I am stocked with 3 trial bottles of shampoo and 7 of conditioner. I'm ok using whatever shampoo as long as I have good conditioner :)

I did get the Garnier Fructis conditioner that was on sale for $2.99 (and had a coupon) but when I was in Target later, I found the same conditioner for $2.89 (unadvertised sale) that came with a bonus. I guess like everywhere it helps to know your prices. FWIW, I'd not ever tried this brand before and I really liked it :)

Are you sure you can only get 1 bottle of the listerine in your area? In my flyer it was listed as a monthly deal...limit one deal per customer. HOWEVER the deal is you can get up to 9.98 in ECB's so you should be able to get 3 bottles. Does anyone know for sure how this works???

I have a question about the Colgate ECB offer....Last week I bought two Colgates. I know the offer was limited to one per customer, but I had a $2.50 off coupon so, after ECB I basically was only paying .50 for the two tubes, so I figured it was a good deal. After a couple of days I checked online and they gave me $5.98 for the Colgate instead of only $2.99 (:goodvibes )

Now this week, I see the Colgate offer again. Is it still only limited to one per customer for the entire month, or is one per week??

WOW!! Lucky you! I may try to get two things of the Colgate this week. I only got 1 last week because they said there was a limit. Hmmm...I don't know....:confused3

Some people have reported getting credit for up to 5 tubes (in the 1 week) of the toothpaste - not sure if that is a regional thing. I have purchased & received credit for only 1 tube (in MA). I would think that as it is listed again this week that they would allow you 1 tube last week, 1 tube this week for a total of 2.

Ive read this thread today and have never worked this program the way I should. I do get our prescriptions filled at CVS however. I have a couple of questions.
1. can you use ecv's to pay for gift cards?
2. how do they convert the point balance into ecv's what percentage I mean?
Thanks in advance for help.

2% return in ECB of total money amount spent *Excludes alcohol, tobacco, lottery, gift cards, money orders, postage stamps, pre-paid cards, prescriptions, and special order Home Health Care items, including footwear. Prescriptions you earn $1 for every 2 prescriptions and again some eclusions -*Excludes pharmacy items paid for in whole or in part by state and/or federal health care programs and prescriptions purchased in-store in NJ and NY, and controlled substances in Louisiana.

Honestly I never pay attention to points but the dollar amount of the ECB because I never really understood the whole "point" balance thing. It appears that the point balance is the amount of times you have used that offer - like the viactiv where you had a limit of 5 - my card shows a point balance of 4 (I purchased 4) not the limit of 5 as I could only find 4 on the shelf. I think the points are your way of knowing how many increments of that offer your have completed. So I don't think their is a percentage conversion.

I contact CVS extra care dept. via phone and they said that NO you cannot purchase gift cards with ECB's

I saw that today when I printed off my ECB's - so you can only use one ECB per order now, is this new?? I used 4 last week and I have 5 this week for a total of $35.00.

I just got back from CVS. I bought the Kotex panty liners that were on sale buy 2 for $9 get $1 ecb back. The boxes had a $1 off coupon on them. They are for $1 off 1 box. So I got to use two $1 off coupons for $2 off plus getting back a buck. Also I wasn't planning on buying the Aleve, but when I checked out there was a coupon on my reciept for $2.50 off any Pain Reliever, so guess what I'm buying before weeks end?
