I'm not going until October but I just wanted to pop in and say HAPPY DISNEY MONTH EVERYONE!

Our first trip to Disney, I had pretty much never traveled out of my home state for more than a day at a time, so we drove from NY to Florida. First afternoon in Downtown Disney (now Disney Springs) and my credit card got turned down when I tried to pay for lunch. Thankfully, I wasn't absolutely relying on it, and was able to pay with my debit card . . . called the bank, and that is when I learned about notifying them that we would be travelling out of state . . next up was my debit card, which also got locked, then once I got that one fixed, I was smart enough to call the bank my other credit card was with and tell them I was in Florida before that one got locked too lol.

I have learned, I put in travel notices for all of my accounts, even if I don't plan on using the card while I am away. I also have a combination of money in my checking account, two credit cards, some cash that I carry with me, and numerous Disney gift cards.

Yeah we have to notify our banks that we are going to be out of town as well. It was just weird that it happened at home.

Late to the August party, plans are finally all coming together!
DS7 and I are coming for SWGE previews, 17-21.
Staying at WL for our first time as I just got a great AP price yesterday.
We are going to previews the 19th, 5-9, and MNSSHP 20th. (Our FAVORITE event so glad to be back!)

Reminded me of the summer before my 1st child went off to college and I was looking for a footlocker to keep at the end of his bed for storage. At work, I went to google and typed in "Large Chest". OMG...couldnt X out of it fast enough!!!!

Make sure you type Dicks Sporting Goods in full when searching as well. Made that mistake at work once.

MNSSHP on the 16th, yup, we'll be there. DW will likely be wearing the Parasol girl dress (from the Haunted Mansion) and carrying the matching parasol. I will very likely be wearing my Passholder Haunted Mansion shirt, have no idea what DS will be wearing.

Oh wow that sounds like my DD and me-I am busting out the HM wallpaper ears and skirt again this year and DD will likely be in her HM cast member T-shirt (She got me one too and I LOVE it-but got my HM ears from Etsy a couple years ago and wear them every chance I get )

As its storming outside, I was thinking about when (IF ) it rains in FL. I have pochos, but Im sure my sneakers would get soaked...so thought about bringing 2 pairs, but then I remembered the "shoe covers" my mother used to give us when we walked to school in the rain. Havent seen them in years, but they must still be sold somewhere, right?

Went straight to google and typed what we called them 40 years ago. Lets just say bad idea typing "rubbers" into google I guess Im old !!

I feel like carrying an extra pair of shoes could be cumbersome so maybe a pair of flip flops to switch into would work? Definitely a second pair of socks though. Does not take up much space and will probably help almost as much.

Ok, I got a little crazy this morning stressing over our plans for the first two days. I feel like I didn’t leave enough down time in the afternoon for rest/pool breaks for my kiddos (DD 9 and DS 7) in between parks and dinner reservations. Plus I realized I have 2 dining credits floating out there without reservations ( nothing was really appealing to me and I wanted to make last minute reservations as we got closer). Needless to say, I’ve spent the morning trying to rework plans (with not a lot of success) and now have reservation finders out to change O’hana dinner to a later time on our first day and Beaches and Cream to a completely different day.

I am a day behind but in 3 weeks we will also be recovering from MNSSHP and have FP+ at HS! My 7 year old is telling everyone he sees, "We are going to Walt Disney World in 19 days!"

If anyone is there now and could call the bounceback number from your room (x8844, I believe) and get the details on the free dining bounceback offer it would be greatly appreciated! We especially are wanting to know the dates of the offer and to verify that it's still quick service for value and moderate resorts and regular dining plan for deluxe. Also what the minimum night stay is and ticket requirement, but those are lower priorities imo.

My daughter and I have been playing "One week from right now...." all day!

One week from right now, we will be at our hotel, probably sleeping!

First Wednesday of our trip, 3 weeks from now, we'll be finishing up BOG breakfast and heading to LM FP+ at 10:50. And 3 weeks from today, at this moment, we'll be using TSMM FP+ (unless I get lucky and am able to change it to SDD). So excited it's August, but as I said earlier in this thread, I wish time would slow down now!

Playing the game by @DISNEY1975 ... one week from today DD's will be sleeping in (promised my girls they could sleep in and do late nights at parks). My dad and I will boat from PORS to Disney Springs, have lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express (my favourite QS), possible swim at resort, then to DHS for evening- FP's for ToT, RnR, TSM and supper at 50's Prime Time (PB&J milkshake yum!!!)
