Yes, we are doing the Poly on the 16th (first party night) and our first ever party! Thanks for the tip on the boat back to the Poly. I only ever think about the monorail when I think of the monorail resorts, but I think that the boat sounds great - coming back in the dark after we close the park down! You definitely need to stop. I love the apple loaf. I might be making my kids apply to Queens in a few years just as an excuse to stop at the big Apple.
I think you’re going to the first Halloween party from the Poly. Is that right?
It’s always nice to take the boat back to the Poly at the end of the night.
I was thinking about driving down to the Cape this weekend, thinking it would be cooler at the coast, but when I saw the weather forecast for there too, I decided to stay home in the AC.

Ferry is much better option. Everyone and their mother takes the resort monorail to go to the TTC because the line is slightly shorter than the express. Its about a 45+ minute wait at the end of the night.
Ferry holds 600 and will bring you to the TTC. You can walk to the Poly in 5 minutes (or less) from there. This option is about 20 - 30 minutes.
I would not go on the resort ferry. It only holds about 50 and stops at the GF before the Poly. It runs in about 15 - 20 minute intervals. It could take over an hour before you get back to the resort, but if the line is short enough (less than 50) its probably your best option.
We’ve never actually taken the big ferry when we stay at the Poly. We’ve always lucked out taking the resort ferry. We don’t mind the quick stop at the GF. Hopefully our luck will hold out for this trip.![]()
I need your luck! I never make the first resort ferry, even mid day.
We've hit 90 - 95 plus crazy humidity every day this past week here in WI. I think we are more then prepared for our trip!
We keep planning to order the twilight feast every time we stay there, but somehow we keep ending up at the Tambu Lounge and ordering bread pudding, pot stickers and wings from there. We’re going to try again this trip. When we stayed at Poly in August 2017 our only complaint was the monorail. We had horrible timing and luck. We walked to the GF for dinner and to the TTC for the monorail to Epcot or we took the little boat to MK or bus for everywhere else. I absolutely loved loved captain cooks and the tiki torched lighted paths! Watching the fireworks on the beach couldn’t be missed either!! The very best was the in room dining of the ohana feast! That was heaven for us!! Unfortunately all of our littles are now over 3 so for us it is a wallet buster for sure to reserve two rooms each night!
So I just changed my resort on a whim, cause I thought, why the heck not?
We switched from Pop to POFQ.![]()
We’ve stayed at Riverside once, and while we enjoyed our stay, it was just too big for us. But whenever we visit, I’m always tempted to book it again. I think if I booked a preferred room next time, I’d love it.Port Orleans is my absolute favorite moderate, though I must admit that I enjoy Riverside a bit more than French Quarter.
My daughter goes to summer camp too. Normally I bought my kids summer clothes around April, then would not let them wear anything because I wanted to "save" them for our vacations...in September/October!! They would wear them once on the trip, then they wouldnt fit the following summer. This is the first year I decided how foolish it was and am letting her wear clothes for our trip all summer long. Have to say, its been nerve racking. I cross my fingers each morning that she doesnt sit on the ground, trip in mud, spill ketchup, drip ice cream etc... !!

my daughter is so into fashion
That is funny. I didn't like the mansions section of Riverside, but the Alligator Bayou section, to me, feels much smaller. I absolutely love the dense vegetation, and the small quiet pools between the buildings. We’ve stayed at Riverside once, and while we enjoyed our stay, it was just too big for us.
