3 Months, 3 Months! Jiminy Cricket is getting closer to the end of the ticker!
I can finally do the double-digit dance!99 days to go! Getting more and more excited.
Yay! Btw, how did your Christmas surprise for your family go? (I think it was you. Lol.)101 days for me!

It was me!! It went awesome! I though my husband might suspect, but after his reaction, he definitely did not! I knew the kids wouldn't quite get it (just bc we aren't actually going until April), so the surprise was mostly for him!
I recorded it and he was so shocked. He made me stop recording bc he didn't want to get misty eyed on camera. Lol...he was so ridiculously happy and surprised!
My girls just grabbed their magic bands and said "this is for if we ever get to go back to Disney!!" Haha... Now they understand that we are going back, but said it is going to take forever to get here![]()
So here's our trip:
Polynesian, April 18-25, regular dining plan
ADRs: CRT breakfast, Ohana breakfast, BOG dinner, others TBD.
Squeeeee!!!
Edit: Resort booked and we did some math. Since we were planning a 3-4 day trip in the fall and another trip next January, it made more sense for us to purchase Annual Passes. Big squeeeee!!
Looks like we will be arriving at Poly just a few days after you leave! What room requests are you thinking of making? We booked a standard, but I'm still overwhelmed by the choices we have, and wondering what construction will look like by the time we arrive.
I'm considering going the Annual Pass route, too. My brother and SIL are expecting their first child to arrive next week, so they are already planning an extended family trip for his first birthday next January. I'm 99% sure that DD and I will go, but DH is still on the fence about whether he would join us. If I buy an AP for just myself and get DH and DD's tickets through UT, I could save at least $300 on the combined cost of the two trips, compared to just buying MYW packages each time. It would be an even bigger benefit if I decide to visit the world by myself during that July conference...I'm hesitant to take the plunge, though, just in case something comes up and I can't go next January - it's so far away!
Hi!It has been a very busy time with the holidays. And I have been going through Disney depression worse than ever because November of last year we were in Disney. April still seems far away!
I would have had the same dilemma for the DDP but we are staying off property so it is a non issue now. Last trip to Disney we had free dining and this would be our first trip my oldest son would be a Disney adult. (He turns 10 in January.) But if we had stayed on property I would have paid out of pocket because he would want to eat off the kids menu anyway and his 2 year old brother eats more than him.Instead I am buying gift cards ahead of time for meals so it is kinda like pre-paying. Not sure about the trading credits.
I would definitely consider this move. It is just so much food. We did this last year and the tips we spent seemed to equate to a whole dinner at a quick service restaurant.
Another chunk of time has passed and just getting around to checking out the posts here again.. Hope you had a wonderful holiday! I am still up in the air about the DDP.. hubby is no help with helping crunch numbers to figure it out, my gut says its not worth it, but i for whatever reason continue to hang onto it. If I do wind up cancelling it, I will prob get a visa GC for the amount of the DDP to see how I make out at the end of the vaca. Happy 10th Birthday to your son, hope he enjoys his day!!
I found this website really helpful for figuring out if the dining plan was worth it for us - http://distripplanner.com/. It's a calculator using your specific dates and restaurant choices. We generally come out a few hundred ahead with the number of character meals that we like to do with the kids.
