The four of us (Wife & I with kids 8 & 6) are on our first WDW trip as AKV owners. We are staying in a 1BV savanna view at Kidani. So far, even after doing tons of research and reading reviews, we are just blown away.

The resort is stunning. I thought it would maybe give us a bit more than a good view, but we have spent so much time on the balcony in the morning and evenings, watching the animals is so relaxing.

The room is spotless. The furniture is in good shape. The carpets are a little worn and yes, the sofa mattress is thin, but that’s where the kids sleep and they don’t mind. I admit we may have just gotten lucky with this room.

The CMs are awesome. The Kidani pool is perfect for our family. Looking forward to checking out the rest of the activities and community hall.

This is a great view. Do you mind share which part of kidani this is located at? Want to plan for next trip - first trip for family of four of us as well.
Want to splurge for a Savannah view at AKL. Thank you!

Yeah it's a website issue right now, I called yesterday and booked a room at Jambo no problem.

Thank goodness. It would really suck if they changed the rules on us.

As a Jambo owner I wouldn't actually mind it

When I bought my points direct I wasn't given a choice, they just gave me whatever they had which happened to be Kidani. At the time I didn't think it would matter, and it still doesn't except for this bug. Hopefully, it is fixed soon. I don't want to try for a club level or value room right now, but I will before too long.

We were in room 7416. It is on the 4th floor of the second "section" from the Kidani lobby in the south wing. We didn't make any particular room requests but I enjoyed being close to the lobby & buses.

We have a mix of points from resale purchases, and just bought 25 direct at Jambo, because I insisted on it due to this bug.

I like the south wing as well because you are closer to the bus stop, and easier to walk to Jambo if you wish.

Is there a walking path from the end of the south wing rooms to the jambo?it looks very close on the map.

Yes, it is walkable, there is a path through the parking lot of Kidani around to the lobby of Jambo. From lobby to lobby it's about a 10 minute walk.

Unless it's closed due to refurb construction right now, there's a sidewalk all the way from Kidani lobby to Jambo lobby. You're not really walking through a parking lot.

It's alongside the parking lot I should have said. They may have the walking path closed right now because they've closed that entire wing of Kidani for refurbishment, so the walking path may be closed until that section of the resort reopens. I'm not sure, I haven't been to Kidani since just before refurbishment began.
