***The Official AKV Owners And Lovers Thread***. Come And Chat

The four of us (Wife & I with kids 8 & 6) are on our first WDW trip as AKV owners. We are staying in a 1BV savanna view at Kidani. So far, even after doing tons of research and reading reviews, we are just blown away.

The resort is stunning. I thought it would maybe give us a bit more than a good view, but we have spent so much time on the balcony in the morning and evenings, watching the animals is so relaxing.

The room is spotless. The furniture is in good shape. The carpets are a little worn and yes, the sofa mattress is thin, but that’s where the kids sleep and they don’t mind. I admit we may have just gotten lucky with this room.

The CMs are awesome. The Kidani pool is perfect for our family. Looking forward to checking out the rest of the activities and community hall.

This is a great view. Do you mind share which part of kidani this is located at? Want to plan for next trip - first trip for family of four of us as well.
Want to splurge for a Savannah view at AKL. Thank you!

As a Jambo owner I wouldn't actually mind it 🤣

But it would really suck for all the Kidani based members

When I bought my points direct I wasn't given a choice, they just gave me whatever they had which happened to be Kidani. At the time I didn't think it would matter, and it still doesn't except for this bug. Hopefully, it is fixed soon. I don't want to try for a club level or value room right now, but I will before too long.

We were in room 7416. It is on the 4th floor of the second "section" from the Kidani lobby in the south wing. We didn't make any particular room requests but I enjoyed being close to the lobby & buses.

Unless it's closed due to refurb construction right now, there's a sidewalk all the way from Kidani lobby to Jambo lobby. You're not really walking through a parking lot.

It's alongside the parking lot I should have said. They may have the walking path closed right now because they've closed that entire wing of Kidani for refurbishment, so the walking path may be closed until that section of the resort reopens. I'm not sure, I haven't been to Kidani since just before refurbishment began.

Hopefully the refurb will be on schedule. I’m thinking to go later June next year.

I need a combination of info and advice :)
The last time we stayed at Kidani, we had a dedicated 2BR. It was just my DH and I, our DD and DGD. On this trip, my DH and I would like some more privacy (my DD has remarried and besides her spouse there are 2 more children!). Our plan was to stay in a studio and have them stay in a separate 1BR instead of a 2BR lock-off. But now I am looking at a room map and realizing that all the studios are next to 1BRs, is that correct? So, we might be ensuring our privacy from the rest of our family, but we would still end up right next door to a 1 BR with perhaps noisier neighbors or some other unknowns. So, please advise or just share your opinions. Our trip isn’t for a very long time, but I still want to figure this out now. TIA!

Seems to me you probably should look to book a 2BR lock-off in your situation. You are correct - if you're in a studio, you're likely going to have someone next door in the 1BR anyway. By booking the lock-off, at least you'll know who that is! And at certain points during the trip, you can even open the door in between if you like. It's going to be less points to do it that way, too - a 2BR lock-off vs a studio and a 1BR.

Thank you for your quick reply. Now I just have to run this idea past my DH :)
