Just checking in again because I'm feeling antsy for our June 2014 trip even though we are going to Disneyland this summer. I was just reading through the Theme Parks forum hoping to soak up WDW knowledge.

Probably too late now, but it would be fun to see on the list who are other first timers like we are.

It can be overwhelming, ITA. I lurked on the DIS for a while before I joined. Had a binder full of notes and was so unorganized and freaked out! There is so much information to learn and try to remember.

I posted this on a seperate thread, but thought I would post here in case anyone can give me some insight!

Our 2013-14 school calendar has finally been released so we can choose our Disney dates ~ yay!!! Originally we were going to go sometime during the first 2 weeks of June (our dates are very flexible); but now that I know our spring break is not the week before or after Easter, I am considering it ~ March 22-29. Any thoughts? I tried to compare crowd calendars at easywdw, but I don't feel like what I"m looking at will be accurate, since for 2013 that last week is Easter week.

I know that spring break is crowded, but will it be more crowded than sometime during those first 2 weeks of June? Comparable? Trying to decide if the (somewhat) cooler spring temps will be better than the summer heat. And it would be nice to be going sooner rather than later! But on the other hand, if we wait until June, might be more of a chance for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train to be open?

I'm torn!! Would love any input on crowd levels for that last week of March!

Well...I just checked the rates and it is a good bit more during spring break week ~ it is considered Peak (where our other time is summer) ~ i only checked the rates for BC and it was around $90 more a night! We still don't even know if we will do onsite or off, but I'm thinking it will be less crowded early June...

I know would rather go to DLR during the summer over spring break. My reasoning is kids are out of school for both times, but you have more people trying to crowd in to one or two weeks of spring break, but more spread out over the summer. Don't know if that applies to WDW too, but it makes sense to me.

One way I'm keeping track of all my info is Pinterest. When I see a product recommended on the boards, I look it up and pin it. I also pin restaurants I want to look in to as well as Disney food.

Oops! Guess I missed this! Thanks for the nice welcome! I am getting excited about experiencing the Christmas party when we go in 2014. Hubby and I leave in about 45 days for our anniversary trip, and we are going to try some things we have never done to see if we want to do them with the kids in 2014. We are doing the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party and the water parks. Well, we are doing TL anyway. I just found out BB is going to be closed for refurb. Darnit!!! Well, I am glad to meet all of you!!!

Yay for an anniversary trip! We are booking ours this week for October. We just went in Dec and it is by far our favorite time of the year to go. Some days in Dec may be too chilly for water parks though. I can't wait to take our kids to the Xmas party as well. This year we skipped it (we did it as a date night instead)

Unfortunately, MNSSHP dates for 2014 won't be released until into 2014. If you're planning to stay for a week, though, you'll likely have at least one or two party nights to choose from.

At 499 days out, you can make a reservation over the phone only for room-only.

By the time of the trip it'll be over two years since we spent a full week on disney property and that is a long time for my family! We are staying at the WL in 2 studio rooms. I've never been in the 'World for the holidays - any holiday! I know from reading the TPAS board that NYE can be very, very crowded in MK, so be sure to plan ahead and get there early if you're wanting to celebrate there.
