Yesterday I ran a 10 miler that I was using for my marathon corral placement. Pre-knee injury, I was hoping for just a little below an 11 min pace. Then post injury, since I've only run 5 times since DL half and my knee hurts, I was just hoping for sub 12. I got a 10:27 pace! I was shocked! My knee definitely hurt a lot, but it wasn't excruciating. And while the rest of my body wasn't sore yesterday, it sure is today!
I finally got in to see the doctor today. I like him much more than my other doctor from last year. He didn't once try to just glaze over everything with an ITband or Runner Knee conclusion. He's sending me for an MRI. He thinks it might be a meniscus tear or bone bruise. He also said that while he could tell me not to run, I probably won't listen and if I've run several times through the pain already, I might as well until the results come back (if it's something I really shouldn't run through). He said he knows how runners are
(This all said in a funny way, not in a jerky way)
I think I might try 4 miles tomorrow. I've only run 1 other weekday run since I hurt my knee 5 weeks ago. Debating on whether I should KT tape it or not like I've started doing for the long runs...I think I might try without it this time (I'm cheap and don't want to have to use it for every short run if I don't have to!)
I'm really hoping that the MRI results don't come with something that is going to prevent me from running the W&D. I'll be so upset if it does!

By the time I thought, "yeah, let's go for a little bit" the tickets were all sold out.
and
headed your way!

. I'll clean it and cover it and should be good to go
. My next planned run is Thursday. As long as the weather is decent, I'm hoping for 7-10 miles. If not, I'm not gong to sweat it. According to my Nike app, I've logged 43 runs for over 200 miles and my average overall pace is 12:12. I no longer afraid of being swept. My target training pace has always been 13:00 so that I could go at 15:00 in the race and sill be fine. I am confident that I will be able to finish!

At least maybe I can get it out of the way NOW and not have a headache on race day. I hate taking imitrex b/c I feel like I have a harder time running the next day. I feel like it kind of holds me back or something. Sigh.
all you math junkies! If I look to hard or too long at the numbers, I'll
...
,and so far it's looking like low 60's to mid 80's on the 10 day forecast.
. Midrin is the same...the sedative knocks me silly. Fortunately, it is a brief sedation and the sleepiness is usually completely gone in about 8 hours. Benadryl hangovers last about 2 days for me
. Wow! He's planning ahead!
