Hi all Happy Friday! Checking in after my long run for this week. Somewhere in between unbearable humidity and pouring down rain, I managed to get in 8 miles

Was really nervous about this one but it went great. I love it when I get my whole run in, get in the car to drive home, and THEN it pours down rain
I still struggle with the whole "Go slower on the long runs" thing, so I took several longer walk breaks during the second half. Still managed to get a great time in, 12:30 for me is fantastic in this weather so YAY! The hardest part are the first three or so miles. Once I get past mile 4, I'm golden.
Today I stuck to my gatorade fueling plan which always works best for me. Tried the liquid fuel pouch thing... not sure I like it, but it WAS grape unlike the chewys which is important LOL. I think I need to experiment with fueling more often in the first half.
Question- what kind of socks do you wear when running? Up to now I've been using some Hanes dry socks that I got at target. Super comfy for shorter runs but they've been bugging me lately. Anyone got an idea of anything better? I'm not opposed to spending a bit more if I have to.
