I posted a few posts back that I joined the 'half-crazies'.
I'm Leslie.

This will be my first Half-Marathon. If I were to run this race TODAY, it would be my first formal race.
I am a Turbofire (by Beachbody) graduate. I just finished the program.

I decided to test my running legs, and what do you know??? I ran 3 miles without stopping. I've been running for a few weeks now, consistently clocking 8:30-9:30 splits on my 3-4 mile jogs. I've yet to tackle anything longer, yet my marathon-running SIS and Disney-race-running SIL talked me into the Wine & Dine b/c we're already planning on being in WDW during this timeframe. OMG, I was so nervous as I hit the submit button on my registration. But alas, here I am. I'll be 35 when I run this race and I've got a super-awesome little girl who is almost 5.
I'm kind of following the Jeff Galloway plan, but not really as I started jogging before I really knew who he was and didn't know about the run/walk thing. I guess I'm kind of doing my own thing. I am trying to do the three-to-four per week with one longer run on the weekends. I've been getting three of four miles in during my lunch break...about two or three times/week. I work in an urban setting near a spot meant for walkers/joggers/bikers. It is PERFECT for squeezing out 3 - 4 miles! No cars!!!!! Weekends will be the longer runs...and will have more logistics - having to make sure that my husband is around to tend to our daughter/etc.
I'm HOPING to get a 10k in before the race. I think that I read that is enough to get you a spot outside of the last corral. Seasoned racers, do you know if that is correct?
