Would this info be released to the public? My whole schedule is based on last year's dates to predict when the MNSSHP will fall (since MK closes at 7pm on those nights).

We are planning on October 18-25. Really really hoping for the free DP... we had it last time we went, and it was nice. If we can't get it, we won't buy the DP though.

I don't know anything about the Not so scary Halloween, I didn't even think about that going on! We went in August last time, and it was just too hot. There is a 2 day school break in October, so we are just taking them out for 3 days to go, and it is over my birthday. Hopefully it won't put a big cramp in our plans!

And it looks like they have more characters during the party, right?

I read about half of the link posted... will have to get through the rest! It is long!

Are the parties more/less busy than normal times at the park? Our main focus is mostly meeting all the characters...

My kids are going to be 7, 4, 2... and a lot in that article seemed really LATE! When we went last time (when they were 4 and 18 months) we only did one fireworks show... I am not sure what we will do this next time.

Day guests must leave the park at 7pm. If you do not have a party wristband, you will be ushered toward the exit. There are two in park locations to have your party ticket scanned, so you don't have to exit and re enter.The party is much less crowded than a normal day.

Typically, yes. Those who don't have hoppers will go elsewhere, and those with hoppers will spend the day in MK and leave as party guests start arriving.

Hmmmm... that is definitely something to think about. As if there isn't enough to consider going to Disney without a special event!

Tuesday and Wednesday are the best days to fly, price wise. November 1-7th is Jersey Week @ WDW, which may be why costs are a little higher.

Advantages to the 11/1 - 11/7 week.

You can see the last MNSSHP (normally 11/1) and the first MVMCP (should be the 7th or 8th)

You get to see the decorations change over from fall to winter, including the lighting of Cinderella's Castle.

It really is a good week to go, but October is beautiful as well.

So I got a flyer from Disney! I've never gotten one before, but it's probably because I'm checking prices by putting packages in my cart 2-3 times a week and never checking out!

Sadly, no pin!!! Ugh, I was so excited that I might have gotten that elusive pin, but no dice. Just rack rates and "all the fun things we're doing in september!" even though I've been looking at October. haha!

I did find out my co-worker is going a week before me! Small world!

I think I may have a breakdown waiting for the Oct discounts. I was playing around on Orbitz last night and saw the YC there at end of August with the 35% discount and then the 20% Orbitz promo it was about $205 a night for my GV room....So far I am paying RR $415.....I will need therapy by the time the discounts come out
