I agree that this is incredibly heartless. Family should always come first, so staying home was the right thing to do.
I never heard anything definitive about MLB's mandate that they had to leave early for NY while the airport was still open. When they talked about it during last night's Twins game, they only said that MLB was going to investigate whether or not a mandate had been issued. Without the mandate, it was up to them. They may have thought the airport would be open in time.
Even though the Indians are a rival of my beloved Twins, I was soooo happy to see them embarrass the Yankees in that 22-0 game.

I couldn't agree more with the earlier post, that wondered how much of stink would the SpankMees
make if they were still up 12 games?!
