I agree that this is incredibly heartless. Family should always come first, so staying home was the right thing to do.

I never heard anything definitive about MLB's mandate that they had to leave early for NY while the airport was still open. When they talked about it during last night's Twins game, they only said that MLB was going to investigate whether or not a mandate had been issued. Without the mandate, it was up to them. They may have thought the airport would be open in time.

Even though the Indians are a rival of my beloved Twins, I was soooo happy to see them embarrass the Yankees in that 22-0 game.

How could you say that the Yankees can't win on their own? How many Championships have the BoSox won? How many Division Championships have they won? Last year was the first time in how many years that you were able to eat a hot dog in Fenway in OCTOBER!!!! Get over yourself. It's not over til the fat lady sings.

As much as I am a Yankee fan, I think it was a pretty low move.
Just because the pitching stinks, don't try a find a way out of it.

I guess my only quibble with this (Yankees wanting to cheat to win) is that it's Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay is like 30 games out of first place. The Yankess have repeatedly trounced them and it's not too much to think, that even with their current problems, they wouldn't trounce them again (and in fact, they have). So, I guess I just can't buy that they wanted to forfeit because they couldn't win any other way.

That said, I have respect for all the Devil Rays that stayed home with their family and protected their homes. Those are more important than any other b-ball game.

I think it's legitimate to wonder if the Yankees would have tried to pull this same bush-league move if they'd still been up by 12 games instead of seeing their lead over the Sox shrink to such a close margin. .

The Yankee's slide started when they played here in MInnesota a couple weeks ago. They have been sliding ever since, many times at the hands of the "lowly" central division. Their "dirty politics" on the Devil Rays played big in this town!

Oh please, give me break! Jayson Stark is a pencil-necked little geek, who has always pulled for his teams from NYC. So why wouldn't he come and try to put a positive spin on this? The simple fact is that the Stinkees tried to pull a fast one and then whined about it. If that article would've come from anyone else on this planet, I would believe it and retract my original post. But it didn't.
