I am so frustrated that I'm almost in tears. First I called OKW to make a request that we needed a first floor room and to be near the first bus stop because we will we traveling with two scooters. They told me that they didn't handle that sort of thing, and that I had to call the Main Disney number to talk to someone about special needs reservations.

I then try calling the main Disney line, they are unaware that there is a phone number for special reservations, so I politely end the call with them, and then look on the Sue's post to see if I could find this mystical number the first person told me about.

I thought I had found the number that OKW was talking about (in bold was taken directly fro the FAQ thread) Special Reservations Line: (407) 939-7807 - option 1 , but when I called that and pressed the button for special room reservations, it took me to a person that said all they could do was tell me to call OKW, and they would handle it.

Has anyone made a special reservation recently, and can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

It looks you are going in the near future (which it looks like you are if I'm looking at your signature right).
You may be in the 'window' where Special Reservations has already handed over your reservation to the resort, so they can't help you any more.
And, when you called the resort, my guess is that you didn't get far enough to give them your arrival date.
I would try calling OKW back and tell them you will be arriving July -- (whatever date) and need to talk to the room assigner. The first person you reach is probably at a call center instead of actually at the resort.

If worse comes to worse, just tell the CM when you are checking in what you need. Many people prefer second floor at OKW because the view is better (you can see farther and there is less vegetation in front of the windows.
Most people making requests want to be close to Hospitality House (where you check in). The first bus stop is usually Miller's Road and there are quite a few buildings very close to it.
Here's a link to the OKW map. That should help you know which buildings are close. Buildings 62, 63 and 64 have elevators, so you will be fine on any floor in those.

Thanks for the advice SueM.
I'll try again in the morning.
