I'm pretty sure it was this dinner on the live thread that made me change my GFC dinner to a 1900 Park Fare breakfast for my upcoming trip. I just can't have slow service with a 2 year old! The desserts look great though. Did anyone take the chocolate Mickey home to eat later?

Hi Jill! Oh my! Other than the Tremaine clan potentially being rude I think you may have a better meal than we did!
I definitely think 1900 is a better option with a little one.
Good question!! I think I offered the Mickey chocolate to any takers but after I broke his leg no one wanted him.
Hi Brenda! Just catching up, after our trip a few weeks ago I haven't been on the dis that much. How awesome you were able to meet Kathy and Mark! One of these days I hope to meet them. We love the TH for breakfast, the variety is great, and who doesn't love Donald Duck. BTW I am planning on going over to DL in either Nov or Dec for Christmas Season.
Hi Lori! It's hard to get caught up isn't it?
If you want to meet Kathy you should go early December!!
We'll be there on the 5th as well. Just sayin'.
While I do LOVE Tusker House, I need to try Kona for a breakfast since you are bargaining!
I can't let you keep something I haven't tried!
I'm sorry that the service wasn't up to par at the GFC. The burger does look amazing, but I'm afraid that shrimp cocktail wouldn't good to me. I rarely like verde sauce and I certainly don't like avocados!
But that Chocolate Fondue
It's not on my "must do" list for now, though. But that's why I have your dining reviews!
We LOVE 1900 Park Fare Breakfast with our kids!! I have taken my kids twice when they were 2.5 y/o and then when my youngest was 19 months. It's sooo yummy!!!!
Hi Christen! I know you love TH but you HAVE to try Kona some time.
I'm sure we'll be back at GFC (we always make it for breakfast) but I'm sure there's a reason the service was slow.
But yeah.... verde sauce for the shrimp cocktail... now they were just getting weird with that. Have you been to Hollywood & Vine?? That's the only place at DHS that we haven't tried. I'm curious about it.
I'm a 1900 PF fan but we've only been for breakfast. I really want to go for dinner for the Tremaines.
I'm slowly trying to catch up so I don't get any further behind (plus I need to occupy my mind on something).
I would like one of those cookies right now, please.
Sorry the service was lacking and the food wasn't stupendous at Grand Floridian Cafe. We had a reservation there in August and I cancelled it. I've read pros and cons and just haven't been able to commit myself.
I will say Em's burger looks wonderful.
for more DISmeets.
Hi Kathy. I'm so sorry about sweet Cookie.
If I was within 100 miles of you I would bake you a batch of cookies and deliver them to you! (they may not be as appetizing as the CL lounge.)
We've had 1 good dinner at GFC and 1 not so good dinner there so you just never know.
Em definitely liked her burger.
And yes, Mrs. Queen of Dismeets - definitely
I'm sorry your dinner wasn't that great! Em's burger does look fantastic. I do have to say I'm not that impressed with the presentation of the fondue. The fruit looks like it was just thrown on the plate.
Hi Kylie! Ha ha! I was thinking that about the fondue as well when I saw the photo. That's the best they can do with that? Throw a few things on the plate with a bowl of melty chocolate?? Everyone who ordered it seemed to like it so what do I know.
My sister and I just returned from an amazing 14-day trip to the World (and too much food!) and I'm playing catch up with your wonderful reports. What awesome Dismeets!! It looks like breakfast at Tusker House is wonderful and I can't get over the variety offered. I love the characters all decked out in their safari gear, so cute! Great pictures of you, Em and fellow Dis'ers. Sorry your dinner at Grand Floridian Cafe wasn't the best, although Em's burger does look tasty. I'm sure the company more than made up for the lacklustre dining experience.
Welcome back Carol!!! Please let me know if you do a Dining Review.
Tusker House is crazy with the number of choices available! I agree, you get to see the characters in their adorable safari wear.
You are absolutely correct! Dining with Dis-pals distracts from the mediocre food since we were enjoying spending time together.
Ugh, I'm sorry for your lack of service and attention to detail at GFC~
but, like others have said, at least you had great company!
We were hoping to use it for a dinner for something different during our Marathon Weekend trip, since we are staying at the Polynesian and looking for close options. We dined there for dinner quite a while back and had a similar experience with service. Was hoping it would be better. Maybe we'll just stick to breakfast there instead, which we like better. Hmmm....
Appreciate your review!
Hi Minniebeth! No worries. I think I should be a little more forgiving since it was crazy busy. But we did have some awesome company!!!
I do love their breakfast too!
Thanks sweetie!!
UGH on the slow service!! Thats always a bummer! I rate my service on my water glass a lot of the time! I like to drink a lot of water during my meals and if its empty thats not a good thing!
At least you had GREAT company while waiting for non-existant servers!!
Hi Paula! Love your service benchmark! I am impressed when they don't let the water glass get empty. Perhaps I should look at it a different way and be annoyed if it DOES get empty.
And YES, dining with the fellow Disers was pretty great!
6 more days!!!! And then what, 54 or so before you are dining with the same disers!
We had excruciatingly slow service at the GF Cafe when we ate lunch there eight years ago. It took us more than an hour and a half to get through there, and it was the same thing that you experienced, servers who were non-existent or couldn't see hand signals. I see that nothing has changed.
We ate breakfast at Tusker House for the first time in February and really enjoyed it. The ham was delicious and I would go back there just for that.
Oh no!! Maybe dinner is not not their strong point. That's it! I want to call Restaurant Stakeout to iron out their service issues!
I think I needed to try more dishes at TH.
Mickey waffles and Krispy Kreme, well, we know how those are going to turn out.
