I always struggle a bit after our annual Disney Vacation is over with. How much I enjoyed it does little at times to help with the how much I miss it. Yet - we are so grateful that we are able to be members and travel to Disney every year. So - as I was thinking today, it has made me realize so many positives about DVC and Disney World, without stating the obvious (how much fun the parks are).

Here are some thoughts about all the extras
1. Accomodations - A lot of complaining and knocking resorts goes on here. But ultimately, we have stayed at a number of DVC resorts and have been happy with all of them. We have our favs, but these are just great accomodations that make the vacation so much more comfortable.
2. Resort Activities - You may not take advantage of them, but there are a ton of activities for the kids at these resorts. You could keep them busy without ever entering a park.
3. Dining - Some say the food quality has slipped, but we still find many excellent restaurants in Disney that we love
4. Orlando Area - There is so much to do around Orlando - it is a great spot for vacation
5. Upkeep - resorts, disney property - it is still amazing when you walk the resorts and see staff triming shrubs, and general cleaning and maintenence what a massive job it is, and how well kept most areas are.
6. Golf - What golfer could go wrong in Orlando or Disney for that matter
7. Detail - Walking through the parks and areas, there is such an attention to detail, you can always find something new you have not seen before.

There are many others - and I love going to the parks and cannot imagine skipping them. But at the same time, at WDW there is so much more to explore and see - I just love thinking about what to do next time around

What a great email about your recent trip. There are so many things that Disney does to spread the pixie dust, it is refreshing to see that you have enjoyed and remembered the often overlooked. :thumbsup2

Thank you,

Robert

Well said. We should appreciate what we have !

Well put. We especially love all the acticities they offer. We've had such a ggo dtime doing them with our kids, and even when it was just DH and myself this Oct., we had fun playing the trivia game at the pool.

I appreciate the Hess stations because they are so much cheaper than the other gas stations around WDW.

DW and I get away every chance we can to do things without every entering the parks. Anytime we stay DW cries on the way home. This is one of the reasons that I love going as often as possible and am alway planning multiple trips down the road. :worship:

I can't wait to see the looks on my parents' faces when they see the SSR treehouse in March. They'vew always stayed in Motel 6/ Days Inn type hotels, so this should be a huge shock to their system.

It's nice and refreshing to see a good news thread instead of teh usual negative ones around here.

Totally agree, very well put!
Just replace # 6 w/ Tennis/Bicycling and we're 7 for 7!

Only 20 more days and we're there to experience it all yet again! Can't wait.

I love my DVC because I KNOW I'm going back:goodvibes

It has allowed me to truly enjoy the resorts....I'm not a park commando so I love the community halls....more "homey" accomodations....and the relaxed pace.
I LOVE the choices....after my next trip I would have tried all WDW DVC's.....I LOVE that.:cloud9:

So well put. We would never fork out the cash to stay at BC/BW/CR or AK on a yearly or more basis. There are a lot of DVC bashers on the resorts board, but it has allowed our family to take many wonderful vacations with several in the works. (I think the folks that bash DVC are just jealous and wish they could be members too;))
