The Not So Fab Four on the Disney Fantasy...Complete

Hi and thanks for following along. I hope you had as much fun on your cruise as I did on mine!! We haven't been on the Magic yet.........you are going to have so much fun! 6 months will go by fast - before you know it you'll be on the ship!:sunny:
I hope so! We have been on all four ships now and while the 7 night was by far my favorite, the Magic is still my favorite ship!

Today is Sunday August 14th and it is a sea day! Before I get into our day, I want to post a picture of our door.

We love our magnets! The Stitch and Alice were given to our girls as fish extender gifts. The best part of this is they were given to our girls by two sisters (same age as our girls) and they quickly became best friends! All four girls had so much fun with each other throughout the week! Stitch and Alice now decorate our refrigerator and remind us daily of our magical vacation.:-)

And before I forget, here is the navigator for today.

I was the first one to wake up at 7:45am. I was going to go to the gym but decided to head down to deck 4 instead. 2.5 laps on the walking track equals 1 mile. I am not a runner by any means so I compromised and walked a lap, then ran a lap. Today, I did 8 laps total. One side of the ship was cool and shaded and as soon as you hit the other side, it felt like you stepped into a sauna - Hot Hot Hot! Not complaining though because the view was spectacular!

When I got back to the room, everyone was up and ready to go to the pool. We arrived at the pool a little after 9:00am and easily found chairs. We were out at the pool for 4 hours, swimming, eating, riding the aqua duck and just relaxing. And Camryn, if I couldn't find her I knew just where to look - if she wasn't in the pool she was getting an ice cream cone. That ice cream station is her favorite spot on the ship! Austyn spent a little time doing the mid-ship detective agency while we stayed at the pool. This is first time she has some independence, with rules of course and she did a great job. I was a little nervous at first but she did great and was good to communicate via the DCL app. Once we came in from the pool, both girls went to Anyone Can Cook in the club. They were supposed to make cupcakes but they made cookies instead......and they both said the cookies were horrible. Probably not the warm chocolate chip cookies they are spoiled with from room service! Jim found his new favorite spot in a lounge chair on deck 4 while I started getting ready for formal night. At this time I also did something that I have never done before on a cruise......I did 2 loads of laundry. Laundry on vacation you say?? Believe me, when I am on vacation I am the first to boycott laundry. However, we had already been on vacation for 4 days and had 5 more to go, so laundry day it is! Disney, oh Disney.....why haven't you invented a laundry fairy?? In all honesty, doing the laundry was easy peasy - and this wasn't the first time this week I would be doing it.o_O

We all got ready for formal night and headed to the lobby to take a picture with the Main Mouse...

Dinner tonight was in Animators Palate....another wonderful meal in one of our favorite restaurants. After dinner we went to "So You Think You Know Your Family" where Camryn and I were selected to participate in the show. They selected four parents with their children to go onstage. The parent sat in a chair on the stage while the child sat in a chair right in front of the stage. They would ask a question like "What does your child want to be when they grow up?" The parents had a white board to write down their answer and the emcee (CORY from Michigan - we loved him!) would ask the child for their answer. If the answers matched, you got a point. Then the children switched places and they got to write down the answers. This was pretty funny and quite embarrassing for some families, but luckily I got to keep my integrity - WHEW! Thank you Camryn! We didn't win, but we did have a lot of fun! Once the show was over, we headed to the theater to see Aladdin which was of course, AWESOME. I know you all have heard it before, but I gotta say it again - the GENIE is HILARIOUS!!! He had the audience ROARING! After the show the girls got into their pajamas and headed off to Pluto's pajama party in the club. While the girls were in the club, Jim and I went to Shutters to check out our pictures. Speaking of pictures, the camera on the Aqua Duck was broken this week so no cute Aqua Duck pictures....not that I would look cute on the Aqua Duck anyways.:scared1: We had a little time before picking up the girls so I went back to the room and sat on the verandah and journaled while Jim went to watch the funnel vision and then headed to the movie theater to watch Civil War. I ordered our usual before bed dessert, got the girls and it was the end of a perfect sea day. I'll leave you with another beautiful sunset....

Thanks for joining in Lisa! In regards to my dress, I bought it a while ago but this is the first time I got to wear it. I believe I purchased it at Dillard's. Thank you so much for your words of kindness. You have a trip coming up soon - are you getting excited???:mickeyjum

Well we don't have Dillard's around here. Bummer! I still need to find something (and yes, it is down to the wire, we leave a week from tuesday! :dogdance:) looks like I will be making a trip to Portland.
I am really excited about this trip, can't wait to be back on the Fantasy again!
Looking forward to hearing more about your trip!

What a great family picture and I love your dress. One of my favorite things to do would be to sit out on the balcony at night before bed. It's just so peaceful. Great update.

Monday August 15th....sea day number two.

WOW! We were tired! I am not one to sleep in, so when Jim and I both woke up at 9:30am, I was shocked! But yet it felt SO good! Jim headed to get seats at the pool (he only saved 2 seats as the girls never really sat down) while I went to exercise on deck 4. I wasn't alone on deck 4....this guy was playing a mean game of shuffle board with his caretaker.
IMG_2834.jpg IMG_2836.jpg

I completed my 8 laps around 10:30 and headed back to the room. WHAT?? Both girls are still asleep? I'm glad they got some much needed rest. The slowly got up, got ready and we headed to the pool. Today was another gorgeous day that included sitting on deck 12, soaking in the sun and drinking yummy drinks. We left the pool about 1:45, got showered and headed to Disney music trivia. How do I put this mildly?? UMM.....we suck at Disney trivia!!o_O It was so difficult to recognize the songs being played on the piano with no lyrics. The girls then went to play shuffle board while Jim and I went to TV music trivia in the pub. This was a lot of fun! They played the theme songs from so many great shows like The Love Boat and Dukes of Hazard. Jim was really good at this! We didn't win any Disney hardware but we still had a great time. We met up with the girls and decided to deliver some of our fish extender gifts. We split up and actually delivered them really quickly. I got a cute pic of this girl - a little sass in the sun!
IMG_2844.JPG

We had a little time before dinner so we headed to the arcade. It was fun for the girls and their daddy too.:yay:
It was then time to head to dinner at Enchanted Garden, which was wonderful of course. Before the cruise we had promised the girls we would go night swimming and tonight was that night. The Aqua Duck is SO cool at night time - be sure to do it when you cruise!! After swimming, we headed to another version of "So You Think You Know Your Family." Austyn was really hoping she would get a turn and she was SO excited when her and Jim got picked!
IMG_2847.JPG

They did really well and actually tied for 1st place but lost the tie breaker. It was a great way to end our day. As you know by now, we ordered our night time cookies and milk from room service before heading to bed. Up next, Tortola Tuesday....

I'm getting such great ideas from your report.:goofy: It's like I never even Looked at the Navigators on our cruise!! We will definitely try the family games, Aqua Duck at night and the cookies and milk!

I am excited to read your trip report, we will be on the fantasy next year! We will be squeezing in a day at US this year in the middle of our Disney trip. We have never been, our main focus is HP. Any advice on how to get selected for the wand experience?

Yay!! I'm so glad that you are getting some fun ideas. One thing I wish we had done more of were the adult trivia events. The events in "The Tube" we're SO much fun!! The crowd really got involved and the host was awesome. If you are able too, I would definitely recommend going to a few of those. They are usually later in the evening.

I've also read that room service had a delicious cheese and cracker platter but we haven't tried it yet. It's so nice that all of this is included in your cruise, except for the tipping of course.

Thanks for following along. :-)

Hi. This was our first time at US as well. My first recommendation would be to get there early and head straight to Olivander's. We arrived a little after 8:30am and walked right in. The room where the little show is at is very small - fits maybe 20 people?? We went by there later in the day and the line was extremely long. My daughter that got chosen was wearing her HP robe that we purchased from Amazon (much less expensive than from the park) so I think that helped her get picked. I've heard some people go to the show more than once in hopes of getting picked - we were very lucky to get picked on the first time. Let me know if there are any other questions that I can answer for you....I'm happy to help. :-)

Tuesday August 16th..... Tortola Tuesday

Crap! Jim and Austyn both woke up not feeling well. Both had sore throats & runny noses. I let them rest while I went to walk/run/get distracted by the scenery and take pictures on deck 4.

IMG_3466.JPG IMG_3467.JPG IMG_3468.JPG

Jim and Camryn rested a little more while Austyn headed up to Cabanas. Finally everyone was ready and we decided to head out to Tortola. We didn't have any excursions planned today but decided to take a cab to Long Bay - Westend Beach. We forgot we were on a British Island and were surprised when the taxi driver started driving on the left side of the road. We drove up through the hills of Tortola on our way to the beach. I wouldn't say our driver was the safest but he was nice and pulled over a few times so we could get pictures of the breathtaking view.

We were going to have lunch at the beach, but the restaurant was really expensive.....it would have cost over $100 for the four of us. With that in mind, we decided to head back to the ship. We had a really nice driver that had gotten married in Las Vegas so we enjoyed chatting with her. She took a different route back to the port so we got to see more of Tortola, which was nice. We stopped to get Benadryl and Ibuprofen and were back on the ship around 1:30ish.

We grabbed some lunch and because we needed some more fun in the sun we hung out by the pool until about 3:00pm.
Up next.....Pirate Night

AHOY Matey's!!

At this point Jim and Austyn are still not feeling well (no fevers thankfully) so we gave them Benadryl and headed down to the festivities in the atrium. Nothing like pirates to distract you from not feeling good.::yes:: I will apologize now for the picture overload!

After dinner, we watched Mickey's Pirate's in the Caribbean show on deck 12. The show was great and finished right before the rain started. Luckily, the rain didn't last long and we still got to enjoy the amazing fireworks. After the show we headed back to the room. These pirates were ready for a snack....any guesses what we had?? Good night
matey's.......

Thanks so much! My kids might be dressing up as the 3 main characters for Halloween so I'll have to check out amazon. My son also looks a little Harry Potter ish so maybe that will help. :)
