I like Target and I enjoy shopping there. But, I don't go crazy. I do hit up their 75% off toy sale and holiday sales and get some good deals. I can't say I hardly ever spend too much; we did just have a $75 order because I got a free gift card when I spent that much and we needed a lot of kitty supplies and snack food anyway. That's probably one of my higher bills there.
It's a nice place to shop when you have little kids. But, you do have to show restraint. When I felt like I was going too much, I also went cold turkey. Now, after doing the no-buy thread for so long, I can trust myself and usually just pick up the essentials. But, I see no point in passing up a good bargain if I will use it up within a short amount of time. For example, I got my kid’s party invites and goody bag stuff months before their parties at 75% off. We have since had both of their parties and used it all up, saving me a lot of money. Plus, the 75% off toys go a long way in kid birthday land.
Like all good things, moderation is key. I just got tired of storing stuff; my new motto is use it up! For what it's worth, I'm finding a lot of stuff is actually cheaper at Wegmans. Who knew?
