The Non-Catchy Title PTR

We are doing matching shirt for this trip, but no names. I am now wondering if I should add names!:goodvibes I loved your shirts!

Hi Amy! I'm a little late but I'm in! Your title caught my attention when I was reading Queen and Jasmine's PTR! Can't wait for more!!!

Cute shirts! :goodvibes

I did the same thing two years in a row. There are soms super talented people on the DISigns boards.

My family is giving me a hard time about them this year. :sad2: I wish I could get them to agree to wearing them again.

I too love the DisSigns! They are great! I too am debating on the T-shirt thing I just don't know when we would wear them lol!

Yours in the pic are great! :thumbsup2

Very cute. I think I would have a harder time getting my daughters to wear them than my DH, and he certainly wouldn't be thrilled! :rotfl:

lol! My kids, for some reason, like the shirts. I was afraid that Levi would be at the age, & being a boy, he would think he was too big or cool for the matching shirts, but he likes them. And, I'm like 'yay'!

I love the matching shirts!

We did them 2 summers ago when we went with my sis and her family and it looked so good in pictures. Of course Jasmine was almost 16 at that time and couldn't believe we subjected her to such a thing:lmao: Makes me want to do it again just to bug her:rotfl2:

Do you have a picture of it in one of your past TR? I'd love to see it. I can imagine Jasmine thoughts on the matching shirts at 16! :rotfl:

Go ahead & do another matching shirts w/names! Do you think DH & MIL would agree on that? :) I still can't wait to see your pics on your TR!

:welcome: Hi TinkerbellLuvr! I'm glad to have u visit my PTR. I'm also glad my creative title caught your attention!

At least you did get some pictures in the past. I think that will be our only matching t-shirt picture we will ever have. :sad1:

Yes, the Disign boards do have lots of talented people. I try not to go to that sight much because I will spend hours on it & start thinking of all kind of projects that I don't have time to do! :p

The shirt I made Brad was only worn that one day & never again. Poor thing, it's on my FB & I think he must have had his friends make fun of him. He's not going to do it again! :rotfl:

Joining in! I saw your post on my PTR, so I scurried over here and am all caught up now. :goodvibes I'll just comment on your last update instead of going way back to the beginning - my DH isn't so fond of the matching shirt idea either - but I agree with you, it sure does look nice in pictures!! Maybe you could do more of a theme than matching exactly? Like the boys in Mickey and Goofy and the girls in Daisy and Minnie? Something like that!

Glad to have you BrookElizabeth! We will see about the shirts. So far, Brad has politely pretending not to hear me when I mention them :teeth:!

Hi there Photoshare Friend! Subbing...can't wait to read it all!

Just a few things:
1. Wow, you look GREAT for 40!
2. I LOL'd when I read about your DH getting the volunteer award...you should be used to that by now though...Mom's never get any "credit". What a horribly thankless, wonderful job we mom's have. ;)
3. Your kids are beautiful! Love the matching Children's Place sweater picture!

Didn't get a chance to read it all yet, will cuddle with my iPad in bed tonight and catch up.

Hi Jenny!:wave2:
Wow! You are fast! I'm so glad to meet one of my Photopass share buddies!
Your signature picture is adorable with Mickey hugging your daughter!
That was funny with Brad getting the award! Let a man do something for a few days that women do everyday & give them praise! :rotfl:
I love clothes from Children's Place. We buy the sweaters every year. In the beach picture below the sweater one, they are also wearing coordinating outfits from Childrens Place.
I'm so jealous of you cuddling in your bed with your iPad. I'm always stuck sitting at our computer desk till 12am!:surfweb:
Where are you staying at in WDW?

We check into CBR on Sat, Sept 18th.
I want a full 1st day at WDW, so we will be leaving on Friday, Sept 17th.

Lexi & Levi will go to school and then we will get them an early dismissal after they have taken any test they have. We will be packed & ready to go when we pick them up. I'm hoping it will be before lunch.
I talked to their teacher about Lexi/Levi missing school for a week & she was cool about that. She's going to send all of their schoolwork they will miss, so we will stay pretty busy on the drive down with HW.
After we get Lexi/Levi from school we will start on our 9 hour drive.

We drove last time & it was not bad. I like driving so I can take everything & I do take EVERYTHING. I really don't drive, Brad does all the driving. I can just read, sleep or whatever on the way. ;)
Depending on what time we get to leave from school, we should arrive around 7:00-10:00 pm.
I am really, really, really hoping for 7:00. We would then have time to go to Downtown Disney that night.:goodvibes
We are going to stay somewhere, but I don't know where:confused3.
I need to find a hotel! I've looked at priceline a couple of times, but still undecided on where to stay. We will only be there to sleep. I don't want to spend much money, but I need a nice clean place to sleep!

Next Chapter- Mickey Jewelry

Great plans for your trip down! I hope that Levi & Lexi get out earlier so that you can go to DTD! But even still, you still get the entire day the next day to start your official vacation, that's great! I"m so glad that their teacher was okay with your trip, I always worry about pulling the kids...so i'm nervous about that still since we dont' even know who the teachers are this year, my kids don't start for two more weeks!:scared1:

That sounds great! I wish we were close enough to drive, because then we could go every year lol! :lmao: The downside would I would no longer be a Canadian! So I'll Stick with being far away lol!

I'm hoping that when I tell the teacher that we will leave after their test, she will offer to give any test to them that morning. :smooth:
We took Lexi/Levi out of school this same time 2 years ago. That teacher was fine with it too. I think if there is a attendance issue, taking 5 days out of school would be a problem. Fortunately for us my kids, to date, do not get sick much. They are always on the honor roll, so I think the teachers know I will make sure they stay caught up with work.

This is just with Elementary school. I've heard it's more difficult for student to take a week out from Middle or High School.

I think it works out best for you that you're not starting until 2 weeks. The reason is because they usually do not do much work that 1st week of school. And, then the next couple of weeks is mostly spent on reviewing what was learned the previous year.
What grade will your oldest be going into?

I am also jealous of your ability to drive down. I am not sure I could get any farther away from Orlando and still be in the continental US. Oh well, flying is costly...but for the most part comfortable.

The 9 hrs probably does sound close to you. Since we can be at the beach in 3 hours, to drive 9 hrs every year sounds terrible to me:eek:. But it's really more of thought of driving 9 hrs every yr WITH kids in the car that sounds terrible.

If it was just Brad & I going we would definitely fly (or if we lived as far away as you!). The price difference between 4 tickets & the price of gas driving, 9 hours doesn't seem so bad! :)

I'll keep my fingers that you get to leave sooner than later that day!!:wizard:

My oldest is going into 2nd grade, so I really don't think it should be much of an issue. I hope!;) You're right, since we don't start for two more weeks, we'll just be getting started so hopefully it won't be an issue....cuz we're going anyways! shhh!!

I hope you are able to get on the road quickly that day! :goodvibes. We onc flew in really late and waking up th next morning IN Disney with a whole day in front of us was GREAT!

This will be our 2nd time taking our DD out of school. Like Kristen, we don't start back until the Tuesday after Labor Day. Madison will be in school for 11 days and then she'll miss 6 days. She's going to be in 3rd grade and she's very smart. The whole month of Sept is all review (which, not to toot my own horn, she doesn't really need) and she can catch up on any work she's going to miss on the plane.

I had friends in HS that would miss school for a week for vacation. They were always able to make up the work just fine. I think it all depends on the child and if they can handle catching up to what they missed.
