The Non-Catchy Title PTR

I hid Levi's new shoes for school the other day to teach him a lesson because he did not put them up. Then, when we were getting his outfit ready for the 1st day of school, I spent TWO hours helping him find the shoes because I FORGOT that I had hid them!!!! :headache:
I really do believe that you burn more brain cells when you have kids than by doing drugs! :rainbow:

Anyway, today was our 1st day of school! Our last glorious, protective year in Elementary school!

Here are some pics:

THE NEW SHOES

Those are the shoes that my dd wanted. Twinkle toes.. :) I have yet to get them for her...

Man, what a difference, we still have three whole weeks until school starts (Sept 7th this year).

I just found your PTR and read it! I have a boy and girl who are 11 months apart. It is so much fun having one of each so close. I was looking at the picture of the new school shoes. My DS(2) has that same pair of shoes and it made me sentimental thinking of him growing up one day!

Great pictures!! Gosh your kids are adorable! LOVE the shoes!!!

Thanks Queen!

The Twinkle Toes are the "it" shoes right now with girls. The flashers on them will blind you!

Sept 7th!!!!!! NO fair!!!!!:crazy2: When do ya'll get out for summer?

Us too (fellow Buffalonian). I hate the first day of school because I love having my DD home with me all summer.
I agree with you 100 percent! I'm always sad when school starts. I love our summers spent together!:beach:

You're right, it is so much fun having them close together! You definitely have your hands full with a 2 & 3 yr old! I forget about how much work it was until I keep my neice that is two yr old.
I know everyone says it, but the time just flies away. Hug & kiss those babies of yours all day, every day! :love2:

Sept 7th!!!!!! NO fair!!!!!:crazy2: When do ya'll get out for summer?

Usually the last full week of June. Don't know why the North does it this way, but it's pretty common in the northern states...perhaps a lot of schools up here don't have air conditioning, so they are waiting for the heat of summer to end. :confused3 It's the way it's always been.

It's also kind of why I suspect when DD is a few years older we will have to start going end of August every year...free dining + low crowds + not missing school = best time of year, even though I prefer to avoid the heat if we can. We went at that time in 2007 and 2008 and didn't mind too much, though.

Subscribing to you PTR! Love the photo album organizational idea!!!
I am also in SC, so my DD started back to school yesterday. We also took a little "before school starts back" trip to the beach (Charleston).

We get out the 1st week of June. It still sounds like you have a longer summer break!

Hi neighbor! Charleston is so beautiful I love going there! Hope your daughter is having a great 1st week back to school!

Hi, Amy!!! I came across your report from ***********'s thread, and I'm so glad! Like you, I love reading Pre-TR's and TR's!! First, I have to say, there is no way that you turned 40 this year. Seriously, when I saw the picture of you, I really thought you were in your 30's!! Both your kids are precious!! I'm getting so excited reading all your plans. I wish we were going back to WDW this year, but we are taking a Disney cruise next month. Nothing like the parks though!! I can't wait to read more! BTW, I love the title of your report...I can never think of anything clever either!

Yay for Back to School! My two older kids are home and getting back into a routine and start school on Aug 30th. DH is taking a few days off b/c our yougestis going to a new school this year. Our schoolboundries changed and he now has to go to a school further away. He has to be on the bus by 8 am and isn't home until after 4. poor kid he is only going into grade one and it is his first year with all day school. He is going to be wiped out! (he goes to a different school then Alice and goofy because he is french immersion and they are english)

Hi State Neighbor! Thank you for the compliments! I'm so jealous of you going on Disney cruise! My daughter has been begging to go on one!

It's rough getting back into the school routine! What is french immersion?

French immersion is a program Canadian wide where kids learn french reading/writing first and then once in high school they learn english. The goal is to get the child to become fully bilingual by the time they graduate

That sounds like a great program!

Thanks! I love Lexi's shoes & she can't wait to wear them at Disney as they have flashing lights on them! You would go broke with girls, there's like a million more things geared towards them than for boys!

I was so excited about my 1st WDW trip two years ago that I made our family matching t-shirts to wear one day with our names from the Creative Designs thread.

If you want to get attention in Disney, do this. When we would enter the parks the Disney CM's would greet us by name. They would also greet us by name throughout the park & when we were leaving. It took a while to get used to it. At 1st we would forget about the shirts & for a second think, "How do they know our names?".
Men & women would run up to us wanting to know where we bought the shirts.

This year I cannot decide what to do. I loved our matching shirts for pictures, but Brad really didn't like wearing the shirt. He will wear one if I make one, but I'm not sure if I'll subject him to it again this year!

Driving Day to WDW

Very cute. I think I would have a harder time getting my daughters to wear them than my DH, and he certainly wouldn't be thrilled! :rotfl:

I love the matching shirts!

We did them 2 summers ago when we went with my sis and her family and it looked so good in pictures. Of course Jasmine was almost 16 at that time and couldn't believe we subjected her to such a thing:lmao: Makes me want to do it again just to bug her:rotfl2:
