The Non-Catchy Title PTR

I have not tried Tusker House but our family LOVED Coral Reef! The steak was better than LeCelliar!! (in our humble opinion). This being said I do not eat seafood. DS loved watching the Aquarium. One of our favs.
Good luck. I like your choices!

Will agree the steak WAS excellent at Coral Reef, while the seafood was just OK.

Great choices! We are Coral Reef lovers and go every trip! I love the aquarium, we are never in a rush at this meal!

I made the mistake our first trip too about the dining, but haven't made it since:lmao: That's the great thing about going all the time, you learn something new every trip!

Tusker House we ate at in 2008 & 2009 for lunch and is an absolute favorite of ours, I'd put it in the top 3 restaurants we've eaten at in WDW

I'm glad you said this, the menu online was one of the reasons I booked it. There is a salad listed (don't remember the name of it) that sounded soooo good!

We haven't done Coral Reef but we did do Tusker House for breakfast. The breakfast was great and the atmosphere can't be beat!:thumbsup2 Not much help with your choice, I guess.:confused3 Just my two cents!

If the menu appeals to you, then I say you should try it. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of all the dishes...some of the salads are excellent. The biggest problem is having room to try everything! (The breakfast is very different, as that is a character meal...we have not tried that, so can't comment, but it sounds like you are interested in lunch.)

I hope I did not come off as bashing Coral Reef, as we had two very good meals there in 2008 and 2009 the atmosphere is pretty unique and wouldn't hesitate to return, just we ate at both those two trips, and both times Tusker House was a favorite.

I cut and pasted this from another PTR maybe this will help.

Agree 100 % with that post, though we haven't tried Boma yet, but will in October (the only reason we're not doing Tusker House). The Samosas ARE excellent, and we have friends from India who make them homemade, and these are pretty close. These are the triangular objects, which are a fried batter that surrounds a stuffing of potato, vegatable and curry.

I have heard so many good things about about the TH brkfst, but havn't seen as much info on the lunch. I had thought about doing TH brkfst when booking, but I already had several character meals.

Thanks so much for that link!!! I'm enjoying looking at her reviews & pics!

Lexi & Levi are really big readers and it's neat how our Disney trip has influenced their summer reading. They both just finished reading Walt Disney's biography. Yesterday we went to the library & Levi checked out a book on Norway since we will be visiting world showcase for the 1st time in Epcot on this trip. Levi said he is going to read about each country. I say go for it! :thumbsup2 I told Lexi about the Kingdom Keeper series that I heard about on the dis. She wanted to check that out, she got the 1st book Disney After Dark.
Lexi & Levi received free Six Flags tickets from a reading program at their school. So we are going on a mini-trip to Atlanta this weekend to Six Flags & the GA aquarium. I received a free Six Flags ticket too for heading up the school program. We only have to buy Brad's ticket - great deal!

Next post - Shrinky-Dinks

First off- you're lying! NO WAY that you're 40.

Second- BEAUTIFUL kids. You will be locking them up in about 6 years!

I'm anxious to see what you think of the moderate vs. value. We booked a value and I'm regretting it. I know we're only there to sleep, but still! I hope CBR turns out to be a good choice for you.

Where are you staying, you may not regret a value, we loved POP!

It feels weird saying that I'm 40! I still remember when I thought people that were thirty were old!
Thank you for the compliment on the kids!
I am anxious to see what I think of the mod vs value also & I will let you know. I do think you'll enjoy your resort.

Today the kids & I made shrinky-dinks. Flexible plastic sheets that you draw on & when you heat them in the oven they shrink to VERY SMALL hard plastic. We made Disney tags out of our shrinky dinks. Lexi & Levi are putting some on their bookbag & some on our backpack that we're carrying to the WDW parks.
I've posted pictures of our Disney ones. We also made Spongebob
& other misc characters.

Where did you get the disney shrinky dinks?....I've never seen those!

We are also heading back to disney in August for FD! We always go at the end of August, b/c DH is a teacher (we live on Long Island) and teaches summer school, which doesn't get out until around 8/19. Then we don't start back at school until after Labor Day, so we usually drive down to Florida at the end of august and FD works out awesome! It is hot, but I don't mind the heat!

We are also staying at CBR this year, which we've never stayed at! I was nervous as well, b/c we've only stayed at either the Poly, or twice at Riverside. I loved Riverside, but wanted to try something new, and the theming at CBR looked pretty. My mom is meeting us down there, so we are doing two rooms and I am going to request the Jamaica building as well. We drive down there though, so we usually use our car to get to the parks, not the buses. I will let you know what we think of the resort!

My older son read all of the Kingdom Keeper books, in fact, he just finished the third one. They are good! How did your kids enjoy the bio on Walt?

Looking forward to reading more of your pre-trippie!

Wow, Amy - your family is stunning! And you don't look 40!! :)

Subbing to your report - can't wait to hear more!

I was going to say the same thing! You all look like you just walked out of a movie or magazine! What a beautiful family!

I'm Joining in, we will be at ASM sept 19th-28th. I have never been in september. Hoping the crowds will be less and worth me taking kids out of school. (DH's idea) Enjoying your report!

I am taking my son out during that time as well, I hope the school does not get upset. I am making him do a journal of his trip. As well as any homeowrk given. How old are your kids?

My boys are 10 and 12, but there both really good students and the both of them did not miss any school last year, so i think they deserve a surprise!

They don't know were going any idea's on how to reveal the surprise?

I would love to surprise my kids but I am WAY to excited to keep it as a secret! Are you going to wait until the day you leave or sooner? I saw one post that made a fold up card addressed to both kids and inside was their magical express tickets.
My son is 7, when we booked the vacation I thought no big deal to take him out of 2nd grade. If it was middle-high school I would think twice. Then after booking he started getting strep throat and ended up getting his tonsils out. He missed a whole bunch of time then, oh well. He is a good student and is going to be 8 in November.
