I was just wondering what is the nicest thing a cm has done to anyone. My daughter is big on pin tradeing and she is really talkative. She goes up to cast members and just talks to them. One cast member just gave her a free pin. also when she took her pins on the airplane the backs broke off. a cast member traded all her broken pins for new pins plus a free pin!!! I would love to read any stories!!!:sunny:   :Pinkbounc :bounce: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :smooth: :earseek:

For my 40th birthday on Christmas Eve a cast member gave me an illuminations cruise for free. The original party canceled and they asked us if we would like to go.....Of course we did...it was a wonderful way to spend the evening of my 40th bday...

To some, it might not be that big a deal, but to us, it was. We were having dinner at Hollywood and Vine with the Fantasmic Package. Connor was young and not having a very good night. NOTHING on the buffet was pleasing our tired, hungry youngster. Our waiter, and I SO wish I could remember his name, was SO good with him. He finally asked Connor what would he like to eat. Connor said a peanut butter sandwich. Off he went and came back with just that. He told Connor that he better eat it all 'cuz he made it special JUST FOR HIM! Well, Connor was pleased, but really didn't eat too much of it...even after all the fuss, but he was in a better mood and managed to make it through Fantasmic. He was just so nice and was willing to do WHATEVER it took to make Connor happy. He was there on a later trip, but he wasn't our waiter and I didn't see his name.

WOW! I dont think anyone can top a free Illuminations Cruise! :D Very Cool Zurgswife!

When TT was out of FPs for the day and the line was almost 1 hour long we stood around debating what to do. My niece didnt want to go alone in the singles line as it was her first time on it, and we didnt want to stick my mother with the kids for too long while we waited in line. Eventually 3 CMs apporached us and asked what we would do to go to the front of the line. We said anything. After some joking around, they finally told us we(all 7 of us) had to sing the Mickey Mouse Club Song in front of TT and they would get us on. Like fools, we did it and 1 CM even videotaped it for us. Then we were given made up FPs that got us right on.

" I think my cm was the BEST!"

10 years ago, on our 10th anniversary - 1994, we were on our first trip without the kids for 3nights at WDW. We had one ticket leftover for a park (we had taken the kids in the spring) and our in-laws had bought us plane tickets. This was the year Tower of Terror opened up and so we planned to go to MGM for our 'day'.
When we arrived (the ride had only opened a month or so before), there was a huge sign stating that "Tower..." was closed. We were SO disappointed. We asked a cm if it would reopen the next day (as we were leaving the next) and she asked why? We told her we were there for our 10th, had a one day ticket and wanted to ride the "Tower of Terror" - to our delight, she immediately gave us 2 free tickets to any park and said to go anywhere we wanted on Disney for that day and come back tomorrow. Not only that, but when we went back to our room, Mickie and Minnie had autographed a picture for us and left it!

How Magical is that? We will never forget that cm's kindness!

Going back soon for our 20th!

thanks for all these great replies!!!! Keep um commmin!!!! I remembered that i was planning to buy my dd12 and ds10 a lanyard. WE were with some friends and they bought a lanyard the day before. It is the type w/ your name embordered on it. Well the people there were really rude, and being my demanding self i told the manager. SHe asked us our favorite color and what our name was. she told me to come back at 3:00. i did and she gave us free lanyards and a fast pass to rock n roller coaster. it made my day :bounce: :Pinkbounc  :sunny: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :smooth: :earseek: ::MickeyMo

this past summer we had our traditional dinner at narcosse's. i had ordered mussels and noticed something odd in my dish. so i show my brother and we were hysterical. finally my mom, dad, and grandma needed to know what was so funny. so i said "i just thought the rock in here was an unusal garnish" my rents and grandma in shocked said "THAT IS NOT SUPPOSE TO BE THERE" this rock was the same color as a mussel shell. so me being laidback pointed it out to our waiter total as a joke, still laughing. within 3 minutes the manager approached our giggling table to apologize giving us a free bottle of wine as well as taking care of portions of the meal. we really had no problem and found the situation to be funny and were amazed with how those disney cm took care of us!

We were staying at the Poly and we decided to do the luau with the family. At the time dd was 7 ds was 8. We went to the luau and had our appitizers and drinks but when the drums started to get loud and the fire appeared DS (who I should mention is a special needs child) decided that he had had quite enough. He was so upset that I left with him. I pushed him back to the hotle in his wheelchair and we went back to the room. He calmed right down. After about 15 minutes there was a knock on the door. It was one of the hotel employees. He told me that the waitress who was serving us at the luau had called and told them that DS was upset and that we had to leave before we had our dinners(Which were all pre-paid along with the show). HE told us to go ahead and order off the room service menu anything we wanted and he said to make sure we included appitizers, drinks, dinner and dessert. We ordered and had a lovely meal. When DH came back I told him what had happened and he told me that we had not been charged for our luau......none of us. Seems the waitress was so sad to see DS so upset she had the $ taken off our hotel bill somehow. This was a few years ago and I am not sure if we paid for our tickets at the Poly or not but I know that all the $ was refunded. I called the front desk and explained that I felt terrible as DS and I had eaten appitizers and drinks at the luau and then a great meal back at the hotel and that DD and DH had eaten and enjoyed the show. I was told that they understood that but they wanted to make sure DS had a magical trip!!!! I still remember how wonderul I felt that they had taken such an interest in DS. MAGICAL!!!!!!

I LOVE THESE STORIES I THOUGHT OF ANOTHER WE ORDERED A POSTER OF OUR PIC ON ROCK N ROLLER COASTER. WE WANTED IT IN COOLOR BUT THEY PRINTED IT IN BLACK AND WHITE INSTEAD OF COLOR. WHILE THEY WERE PRINTING THE COLORED VERSHION WE GOT TO GOTO THE FRONT OF THE LINE FOR THE RIDE ,,,,,:bounce: :Pinkbounc :jester: :sunny: :earsgirl:  :teeth: :hyper: princess: :wave2: ::yes:: ::MinnieMo

Boarding the bus from PO/FQ to MK, Freddy the bus driver was working on pencil sketch drawings. I complimented him on his work. It was really quite good! We ended up being the only ones on the bus. As we were getting off the bus at MK, Freddy stopped me. "Here, I had one left" he said. He signed a pencil drawing of Tarzan and handed it to me. It's in our photo album as a one-of-a-kind souvenir. What a blessing Freddy was.

This wasn't a big thing, but just some of the Disney Magic that helps make your trip special. I can't remember the details, but the jist is that we were going to ride the boat ride in the Land, but the kids wanted to see the movie about the land w/ Simba in it. (Sorry, I'm having a blonde moment and can't remember the name!) LOL!! I was trying to save time and said we couldn't watch the movie and do the boat ride both. The CM heard us talking and told us the movie would be starting soon and gave us a hand-written FP w/ a time right after the movie would be over. I was really greatful for that, the movie was pretty neat (I hadn't seen it before) and was a nice break. Of course the best part was that the kids were happy!:sunny:

My son's hat was knocked off his head on the boat ride to FW. We told the captain and when we got to the dock we were told to wait. Our boat had radioed that a hat was missing and the next boat had found it and was bringin it back to our dock. The next boat came in with a wet figment hat (from 1988) on the captains head.

:bounce: CM ANDREW (told him I would let you all know how great he was):)
We were waiting on the [parade over by frontier bridge and he let us pull up stools from the little restaurant there. He told us pull them right up to the line and enjoy. We had a great seat and talked to him and othe CM who was helping with the parade. The cool CM from Haunted Manshion took our water fan and used it and then refilled it with cold ice for us off one of the carts. We even got Chip from the parade to come up and take our picture with our camera!!! Thank you Andrew for a day at the park that was so friendly and had special magic for us!!!!!:Pinkbounc

::yes:: LOve those friendly CMs!:wave:

my story is from universal studios, as our 1st trip to DW is coming up this july.
but it goes along so well with the great cm stories at WDW(hopefully we will get one there too)

I had made my 3 kids special autograph books for our trip last year to universal studios. we had found what charachters would be there, and found stickers for each of them. if we couldnt find stickers. i had made our own using the printer. All the characters showed such great interest when they saw there picture... the kids LOVED the attention from it.
We had went ot watch the animal live show and will we were sitting waiting a CM came over and started talking to my 5 yr old daughter. She was sharing her book with him and telling him all about the characters she had met.
The show opened up and we went in to sit down .The cm came up and asked if he could show another cm the books, and we said sure.My daughter said that they hadn't gotten all the characters and we were leaving the next day.
The cm asked me if she could "borrow" the books for awhile. She said she knew where the "characters" hung out. after the show she brought back the books and told them their was a suprize in them. she had gotten a ton more autographs for the kids...We had them pose for pictures with the kids, and made a special scrapbook page for them in our scrapbook.
It was very nice of them!

We were staying at AKL a few weeks after it opened. One morning drove over to Animal Kingdom in rental car, when we left the park around 2:00 realized that car keys were gone. Took bus back to AKL, as we rode back my wife remembered leaving the keys on the counter in a restaurant restroom at AK. At AKL my wife went to main desk to talk to CM about problem while I looked after our daughter in lobby. About 15 minutes after starting her discussion with CM my wife returned and said the CM was giving her a ride back to Animal Kingdom to get the keys and the car.

Later on I found out the whole story. The CM at AKL had a friend at AK. She called the friend at AK, the friend called someone at Lost and Found at AK, the CM at Lost and Found looked around and found the keys which had been turned in. The AKL CM drove my wife to AK, found the appropriate person to get my wife to Lost and Found to get the keys.

The CM at the front desk at AKL could have made one call to AK, they could have said don't see the keys and the CM could have told us sorry nothing I can do. But the AKL CM made several calls to try and determine if the keys were in lost and found. Made what could have been a bad situation into a little bit of a Disney adventure.

Many magical moments thanks to the CM's...while waiting fo DD and DH to get off TestTrack I started chatting with a CM and mentioned that it was DD's first time on TT, every time we'd tried the line was HOURS long and the FP's were gone. About 5 mins later CM showed up with 6 front-of-line passes for TT! One trip with another family, each of their kids had $300 spending money, which is my budget for food and snax for 2 for the week. DD was keeping a stiff upper lip about it all, not pestering me for souvies, etc. CM in AK shop noticed cousins with $$$ and DD with good attitude and awarded DD a Magical Moments certificate! Of course when they saw this later in the hotel, all cousins wanted one, wanted to buy one, etc., but these can't be bought! DD felt pretty special! DD has also been chosen to do the 'Lion Call" at Festival of the Lion King, has been chosen to dance in parades, and at Sea World was asked to be the kid who gets to be in the pseudo-orca show, standing in the pool, feeding animals, etc. This was a pretty magical moment for me, too! A good CM can really make a kid's (and parent's) whole trip!

On our first trip to WDW last summer, things did not start off well. Our plane was delayed 6 hours, our luggage was lost, and my 7 year old daughter was running a fever. PLus, many of our PS's came up cancelled in the computer including CRT! The CM checking us in was the nicest person in the World (literally!) She was new to the job and didn't know how to do many of the things I needed such as Hoop Dee Doo tickets, E-Ride night passes, etc. It took forever to check in and she kept apologizing. As we talked I told her about our not so great start to our trip. Well, she took care of all the PS's even calling the person in charge of dining (this was at 10:00 at night) to make sure our CRT reservaton was still there. Then the next day we come back to our hotel room to find a signed card from Cinderella personalized to my daughter with a picture of Cindy herself standing in front of the castle. The look on my daughter's face was priceless!!!! I can only think that the CM checking us in was the one responsible for this piece of "magic"!

One time, got to Listen to the Land so early, that I was the only one in the boat. The CM turned to me and said, "Do you really want to hear the spiel?" I laughed and told him "No." and we spent the entire cruise talking about Disney, learned a lot of cool stuff.

When I'm at the Magic Kingdom, the piano player behind Casey's (Jim) always plays Maple Leaf Rag for me, which is my favorite ragtime song, which I just love to sit there and listen to and then he chats for a moment or two.
