Karissa has just had a stellar week :)

Today I was talking to her new teacher and she told me that at her graduation the woman giving the speech closed with saying "Until further notice, celebrate everything" Then she said " Thats what I think of everytime I see Karissa, she always seems to be celebrating everything! :)

Isnt that sweet?

So whats the best compliment youve ever received?

My 4 yo ds said "Thanks for dinner Mom" in spite of the fact that he didn't like anything I made!

This is a great thread :)
You both sound like you have precious children, btw :)

One of the greatest compliments to me is when my husband says he is proud of me or talks about things I do well (things he likes that I cook, for example) to other people.

Aww, that is really sweet.

I got a compliment probably 20 years ago that I still remember. I was visiting a friend in Ohio and went to church with her. She was singing in the choir so I just sat in one of the front rows of the church by myself. I guess I was smiling at her up in the choir because when the service was over a lady came up to me and said she had been watching me and I had a beautiful smile. I thought that was nice and its stuck with me.

Professionally ~ after my former boss returned from a vacation, he brought me a copy of the saying: DO YOU WANT TO SPEAK TO THE MAN IN CHARGE OR, THE WOMAN WHO KNOWS WHAT'S GOING ON? He & I just clicked in that office and, we both knew exactly what each needed/did, etc. He was a great boss and, an exceptional attorney and human being! We're still friends.

Personally ~ The umpteenth time my DD tells me how much she loves me every day and, how I'm the Best Mommy she could ever have. She also tells ME that she has the Best Daddy and Best Brother, too! ;)

This is definately a 'feel good thread'!! Thanks!! :sunny:

Awww, these are so sweet.

My oldest son always tells me I'm so beautiful because I'm sparkly. :) I'm not clear on what sparkly means, but I like it! :)

A friend gave me a great compliment recently when she told me my home is like a warm bowl of chicken noodle soup. :)

My DS always gives me the best compliments.

With 4 weeks to go to my trip, I'm in a panic about how to loose 15lbs in that much time!!! So, you can imagine the joy I got out of something my 4yr old DS said to me the other day. I was dressed in an old pair of jeans and a 'strappy' top, just hanging around the house, and he said, "you know mom, you look just like Britney Spears, dressed like that".

Now, boys & girls, after 2 kids, Britney Spears I ain't!!!! :p I've got a flabby tummy and big thighs - which of course will be miraculously gone by Feb - but the love of a child just doesn't see those things. (I'm not blonde either - I'm brunette).

LOL on the Britney Spears comment... mine is similiar I was with the kids at the movies, and before the movie starts there is an ad with Britney Spears...

DD leans over and says Mommy your'e prettier than Britney Spears...

Mind you I'm over 30, two kids, etc...

My ds loves to tell me I'm fat and pretty.;) Then he usually gives me a big ole hug.:)

My dd tells me she thinks I'm just right.:) That usually gets her called Goldilocks.;)

The nicest compliment I have ever gotten was from a lady that I and my DD was in a wedding with. She told me that I was a great Mom and had a lot of patients. We were having a hectic day with the wedding and the little ones in it. It was so nice to hear that because I have very little self confidence.

We just returned from a week long vacation at WDW with our daughters (20 & 21). I just got an email from my 21 y/o. She told me how she wants to be just like me when she is a mom. She said she can always count on me to be the mom, but I am also her best friend. She thanked her Daddy and me for a wonderful vacation, and said that if her marriage was 1/2 as good as ours was, she'll have a wonderful life. Guess what? I cried when I read that email. I printed it, and it goes in my special card box in the top of my closet. I can't think of a nice compliment.

Binny - that is really sweet! This whole thread is so nice!

In 1999 I was taking my youngest niece, then 11, to Washington DC. On the way down, we were talking about this and that. She asked me if I could take her again the following year (seems we had gone three years in a row). I told her I probably couldn't because money would be tight because I was thinking about going back to school.

She said, "What does that mean?"
I said, "I think I'm going to go back to college to learn to become a teacher. I want to teach 5th grade."
Her little face got all scrunched up and she kept starring at me. Finally she said, "Really?"
I said, "Yes, really."
With that she said, "Wow, you are going to be such a cool teacher." :D

That was it. That helped me make my decision to go back to school. Believe me, if she thought anything differently, she wouldn't be shy about telling me. :teeth: That was one of the best compliments I ever recieved. :D

This IS a nice thread your right Saffron -

My DS5 told me recently "I love you and your pretty too - I just can't stop loving you forever". How sweet!

When my DD was 5 her kindergarten told me that she was very exuberant. My DD took offense to it and said "I am NOT ga-zoo-berant! and what's that mean anyway mommy?" and I said "I think she must have been talking about somebody else!" LOL!

I am loving this thread. :) How very sweet on so many accounts. :)

I'd have to say that one of the best compliments I've ever received was when my BF said to me, "What in the world did I ever do to deserve you!?" :)

This is awesome....so many sweet compliments!

Mine was from a guy friend who I never had the courage to turn into a true "boyfriend". He once told me there are two kinds of women- The first is the kind that are beautiful the first time you notice them, but they never look more beautiful than that first time. The second is the kind that attracts you, but each moment you spend getting to know them, they become more and more beautiful. He told me I was the second kind!

I'll take it!:)
