look back and catch the eye of the first employee I see, then, with a look of shock and horror on my face, I am going to RUN!!!!! :lmao: :lmao:

OMG! I have set off 3 alarms in a week. It is starting to annoy me.

If you are setting the alarms off, there's probably a security tag attached to something you bought. I'd look at everything very carefully--they hide those suckers really well sometimes--especially if they are gifts.

I ahve had the alarm go off when I walked in or out empty handed though, sometimes those alarms are just nuts.

One store person told me that some cell phones also set off the alarms!!

Well, that'll do it then!!

A bunch of the pants that I bought recently had security tags sewn into the seam. I didn't realise it until I set off a few alarms....someone then asked if I had new pants and sure enough -- there it was. Once it was cut out, I no longer have the problem.

One of the sewn-in security tags was in my DD's winter jacket last year. We set it off all winter long, until one of my nephews mentioned what it was when they were together, and she set off the alarm. The jacket was from Kohl's.

when i worked at kmart, we had to deactivate every left shoe, because there'd be a security tag in it, it may be in your shoe, or somewhere on your clothes you don't even realize.

And that cellphone thing is a bunch of BS. there's nothing in a cellphone that would set off a security alarm.

The same thing happened to me with a pair of jeans from the Gap. A friend had to tell me about the tag I needed to cut off.

What's worse is when you DON'T set off the alarm :rolleyes1

Bought DBF a Pirates watch from the Disney Store for his birthday, wrapped it all up, he opened it, the excitement was in his eyes...

And the plastic tag was securing it tightly to the back of the box :rotfl2:

Thankfully there is a Disney Store about 20 minutes away and I had the receipt on me. DBF drove me right over to fix it. :goodvibes

Definitely annoying!

I just bought my step-daughter a coat from Kohl's Monday night and the young woman that checked me out showed me the sewn in security tag. I've never seen or heard of it before. I asked what will happen if my step-daughter needs to return the coat?? She said it wouldn't set off their alarm. I said what about other Kohl's stores and she said she didn't know. Ended up finding out she would prefer a different color so I will be returning the coat myself. I just have to remember about the tag when she opens it on Christmas...don't want her setting off alarms!!

I kept setting off alarms once and found that it was a DVD from the library. (I had it in my bag since I was going to the library right after to return it).

Once, my son found one (I forget how) and put it inside my husband's pocket on April Fool's Day. My husband was not laughing then, but he laughs about it now. :rotfl2:

You know how inktags are supposed to go off if you try to walk out of the door with them still on? Well, that never happened one time.

We (my Mom and I) had just been shopping for dresses to wear to my second cousins' ordination to the Church. Well, the lady at JC Penny's forgot to take the inktag off, but neither my mom nor I noticed until the day of the ceremony, so it was too late to take it back and we didn't want to risk prying it off! I sat through a 4 hour mass in a church full of Bishops and priests and nuns and such with an inktag on my dress. All we could think was "Oh...we're going to go up for Communion and somebody (possibly a priest/bishop/nun) will notice it and think that we stole it!" Luckily, nobody noticed (or if they did, they didn't say anything) and we took it back the next day to have the tag removed.

sometimes them cds hidden under my coat do the same thing

I was going to say the same thing. Pretty much all my families clothes from the Gap and Old Navy have those stupid tags sewn in them.

DH thinks it's funny to stick a security sticker in my pocketbook or jacket pocket.

All of a sudden I started to set of alarms. I couldn't figure it out. Even when I didn't take anything out of the store. One day I had it so I started to take things out of my pocket and got it narrowed down to my wallet.

It turns out somehow I got ahold of a security tag with change and put it in my wallet.

That thing drove me nuts for a week!!!

Clothes from Old Navy and Gap are the worst for setting off alarms. I was shopping with DD one day and we kept setting off alarms. The clerk at the store said she probably has Old Navy on, she did, her pants. She gave me a scissors and we went into the changing room and cut out the tag. I check everything now. Some of the tags are really big, others are just a small silver sticker looking thing, about an inch square.

I have heard the cell phone thing too but I haven't noticed that as much with my newer phone. My old phone set them off all the time.

This was happening to me at Barnes and Noble! I didn't set alarms off anywhere else but there. After this happening three or four times one of the employees asked me if I was wearing anything from Old Navy - I was, new maternity jeans - he told me to check the seam when I got home. Sure enough, a sewn in security tag. Th
