The next country to drop the "bomb" will be?

I don't think that too many countries would be crazy enough or desparate enough to drop a nuclear bomb, but I'm gonna rank my top 5 in the order that I think they would:

1. Pakistan
2. India...... either one against the other
3. Iran ... if / when it gets one
4. Israel
5. USA..... if we get attacked first. I don't think we'll ever use one again unless absolutely necessary.

Who do you think?

So far I can only think of only one country which was desparate or crazy enough to drop one :confused3 Hiroshima could qualify for desparate, but Nagasaki definitely qualified for crazy.
My best bet for the time being would be Israel if they were really driving into a corner - I just hope that the wind is blowing the right way when they do it :sad2:

Wow.

Can you be any more condescending and hateful towards the US?

I don't think so...

Putting things in historical context, I don't think either was desperate or crazy. It might, at worst, have not been the best decision, but it succeeded in it's goal.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

I could say something about Germany, but I'll rise above!

As crazy as the attempted systematic elimination of an entire race?

Okay, folks. This could be an interesting discussion, but it's already taking an ugly tone. Can we drop the 60 year old stones being tossed about and stick to current events? Thank you.

IMO the next nuke used will be by a rougue group who gets one and has a specific agenda. Hate to be all "24" about it but I do believe a scenario like that is more likely than the leaders of a country deciding to use one.

I was just about to write the same thing.

I believe this as well. And that scares me to death.

But are you thinking like I am that it's better to work to get rid of all of them rather than just worry if somebody like Iran gets them.

That would be the best solution but I don't think it would happen. We'd also , IMO, have to get rid of all nuclear actives such as power plants, irradiation facilities, nuclear medicine, etc.

Coming from someone like you I take that as a compliment

What are your referring to? Native Americans?

At least over here we regret our misdeeds and try to make good for them.

In historical context that excuse may be used for Hiroshima, but definitely not for Nagasaki. The second bomb was nothing else but an extended field test for new weapon.

A dirty bomb - perhaps.
A full-fledged nuclear device - I don't think so.

Why not? I believe one of the biggest worries around countries having nuclear weapons is that the security around them might not be up to snuff. I know I don't trust everybody to keep unbreakable security around them.

IMO a scenario that involves a stolen nuke is totally plausible.

Desperate? Hardly. Intelligent use of available weaponry to end a war, quickly, and in doing so, save more lives than lost, on BOTH sides of the battle equation? Yes. Crazy? Hardly. Effective use of available resources to obtain a quick resolution and end to additional daily loss of lives, on BOTH sides? Yes.

I am biting my tongue so hard it is bleeding. The audacity of a German casting stones about and other nations's WWII era policy or deeds galls me to the core. I would type more... but, enough said.

Do you have anything to back that up? A guy at the bar the other night said that all Germans were behind the countries decision to perform medical tests on the Jews in the concentration camps in WWII. I told him that it's not polite to spread rumors that have no basis in fact.
