Poor Vivien hasn't had a soft bm since starting solids. Her pedi does't seem too worried but it still bothers me to find little.....nuggets (sorry, I really can't think of any other way to describe them!!) in her diaper. So weird to go from almost completely liquidy diapers to that.
I'm hoping to get us up, dressed, and out of the house for mass in the morning. Might be a minor miracle. I have a feeling we will be going to afternoon mass instead. Not looking forward to Lent as I decided to give up cokes. We might actually make some nice money for our disney fund as I end up driving through for one wayyy too often!
I am giving up soft drinks for Lent as well, although I'm a Pepsi girl! Today has been rough, especially since my son was up several times last night!
As for the poop issue: the nurse told me that babies have to develop those muscles since breastmilk is almost completely digestible and liquids are easier to pass. The doctor told us to switch to oatmeal since it can be easier to digest with a little apple juice, but I would check with your pediatrician first! When we started veggies and fruits he pooped about six times a day! I think their system just has to get used to being something different than breastmilk or formula!
He went last night and DH got the diaper. I got home from work and asked him "well, what'd it look like? What color? Was it runny?" and all I got was an eye rolling. I'm like this is important stuff here!
And I was like, "yeah and I knew about them before I got preggers, and I love you so much that I still agreed to have your child!"
If DH wasn't 110% committed to having a baby, we probably would stayed child-free.
He does ok, and surprises me sometimes. I'm trying to train ds12 to be better! I work full time, plus school, plus the kids. I think I do my fair share!
I'm so sorry. My dad lost his job my junior year of high school. My mother barely makes anything as a cafeteria worker-mainly her spending money and Christmas money. We were scared to death. It got pretty bad (I was working at Fred's Dollar Store and pitched in what I could, but my little sister was still in middle school). It took years to recover, long after he had found another job.
This baby I was way more relaxed and able to enjoy a lot more.
I hope he can find something else...
