The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

Right now I'm leaning towards Christmas. I think Lily might enjoy it more at 17 months...or be a complete pain in the patootie :confused3:rotfl:

It's so beautiful at Christmas-time with all of the lights and such! As crazy as the weather has been this winter, maybe by December you will have a heat down there!:rotfl:

17 months is such a funny (and by funny, I mean :rotfl2:, not :confused3) age. They are learning so much, especially how to say NO!:lmao:You guys will have a blast whichever month you choose.

Did you see that they extended that gift card offer to August now?

Okay, this just cracked me up!!

I realized it was Monday (DH got the day off, that always throws me) and I had homework due. Logged in and this is the assignment:

"Critical Thinking Question - Chapters 7, 8
Identify the parenting style of your parents. How do you think this style impacted you? What style would you have preferred? What style do you (if you are a parent; if not, project) use/anticipate using with your children and why?"

Sorry, I just thought it was hilarious and had to post.

(It's for a psychology/human development class.)

:lmao:How did I miss this post?:rotfl:

I think we are all ok now, right? :flower3: I will say, for you first time moms, don't make any plans for your next baby based on this one! All three of mine are so different!

so true!!! Enjoy your new washer.

And I still haven't decided whether we're going to WDW in August or December...but I got all of my ADRs for August! ;)

I loved the beginning of December when we went. Low crowd levels, we had great weather, and nothing beats WDW at Christmas.

We are going in Sept this year...not looking forward to the heat, but we will cope.

When DS was under two we went to WDW several times. I will say as he got older flying was a little harder and he had some moments on the plane. But overall...each trip was wonderful at WDW.

I know you will have a blast.

I just want to keep the integrity of the "Newest Moms Hangout!"

I totally agree! :thumbsup2

Well, what is new here ...not much...I am still waiting for my stubborn little girl to cut a tooth. She loves her solid food and hardly wants a bottle most of the time during the day. If she takes it, it is usually only about 4 oz. because she is so nosey she wants to look around instead of drinking.

They grow to quick!!!!

I'm not sure about everyone else, but I didn't think anyone here jumped on anyone else. Maggie and I stood up for ourselves and defended ourselves but we didn't throw Sarah or anyone else under the bus. I think we did pretty well.

Like Sarah said, I'm amazed it took us this long to have a disagreement! We've been together through some very hormonal things! :rotfl:

Oh, and I totally got 11/10 points on the assignment so there~!

Jeez Patsy. How did you get to be 12 weeks pregnant so fast? Next time I turn around, you're going to be popping out #2!:rotfl:

I have no idea!!! :scared:

I can't wait to find out whats baking in there...

Patsy, when do you find out? Another two months?

For those of you that BF, Alex has been on cereal since Friday. He's got an appetite and eating, but we haven't had any pooping lately...I know BF babies don't go on a regular schedule, but I figured with cereal in him, he'd be more...active. He's not uncomfortable at all so I probably shouldn't worry...but still...I like to see some movement here! :rotfl: Any thoughts?

All is well!

Pediatrician told me not to worry unless it's been 3 days. Not sure if it goes the same for a BF baby, though? Then they told to give him some mixture of water and sugar. Can't remember exactly what it was.

I should find out in a little over a month! :) I see my OB Monday (I think, I need to find that appt. card! eek!) and then it'll be another 4 weeks to see her... and she'll write me the order to schedule it then. If she doesn't (which I'm 99% sure she will) I will probably get a 3d in Columbus with my friend the weekend of that consignment sale! :)

Anyone haev a 3d ultrasound at about 17w3d? Wondering if it's too early to get some good shots.

Luca seemed to have problems with the rice cereal, so we switched to oatmeal in the beginning and he went back to being regular (which, as Patsy said, can be up to 3 days or more). We re-introduced rice cereal later on.

It's definitely unnerving to go from 6 poops a day to 1 every couple of days!:rotfl:

I had a 3d at 16 and 18 weeks this past time. I got a few good pictures but the tech wasn't very experienced. I mostly went to find the gender and she had a really hard time. It was still a great experience though...

I was thinking ti might be the best time for me.. especially since I seem to make such large babies. Don't want the baby to get squished and not be able to get good shots.

I think this year's weather has something to do with El Nino/La Nina? At least that's what I'm telling myself!

I did see the gift card, but I think free dining works out better for us...I have to check though.

Lily's poop has been thicker since we started solids. She was super cranky, plugged up after pears, but has been fine with avacodo. I think solids make things more solid...lol

Speaking of poop, DH said I have to ask you guys:lmao:...did you every have trouble with blow outs? We have from time to time, but lately it's happened just about every poop. It goes up her back. We went up a size and that didn't seem to help. I'm thinking we might need to try Huggies? I seem to remember them having a different waistband? We've tried Pampers and Target brand.:headache:

We used to have tons of blowouts when I BF and transitioned to formula. Not so much anymore now that she is on formula and solids. Now they are just firm. The joy's of parenthood :lmao:

Never had a blowout, but I almost always use Huggies.

I buy Luvs/Pampers whenever they're on sale. :)

Anyone else start using the overnites? I bought a box last week because he was soaking through his diaper/sleeper/blanket/sheets nightly.

I haven't needed overnights yet. I used them with DS, he used to pee out of the top all the time. If you like them let me know, I may have a coupon or 2 you can have?

Nothing got soaked last night... so far so good. They're a little pricey (I've never seen them included in sales!) but I'll pay for it if it keeps me from changing his sheets and washing his blankets and stuff constantly.

He just PASSED OUT in his pack-n-play. I'm afraid to move him to his crib.

Anyone else let them have blankets now? I gave him one a few months ago and he curls up with it.

My LO sleeps with a tiny little fleece blanket. It's more like a lovie that's about 15x15. It manages to stick to his sleeper after I lay him down, even after he rolls over at night.

Yellowfish, it could be just the cereal. If he doesn't seem uncomfortable or horribly gassy he's probably fine. Is his stomach still soft? I think the longest I've ever heard of was a week.

We used to get the Huggies overnights for DS2y but then just bought a pack of the next size up diapers. The others are so pricey for how many you get but I guess if you buy the big pack it's enough for a whole month.

We're a Target brand family which keeps the cost per month pretty reasonable.

DS2 has a double ear infection and pink eye. Ugh! Now I have to try to keep him away from the baby, who has decided crawling all over the floor at all costs is the project for the afternoon.

I used overnights for DS also. Target is the only place I could get them on sale when Huggies were on sale.

We have only have one blow out. But she was in her activity chair at the time so I think it just got squished up the back...oversharing allowed on these threads!!!

I still do all the diaper deals from Rite Aid/CVS/etc. so I haven't HAD to buy diapers the entire time Lucas has been alive. I've picked them up to take advantage of a sale, though. I think I got some at CVS last week for $2.50/pack. Which I didn't even technically pay because I've been transferring Rx back and forth to get the free $25 gift cards.

I went through to check my inventory last week and had well over 300 size 1's, 3 packages of 2's, a TON of 3's (all lose, I opened them and put them in baskets thinking Lucas would wear them all! ugh. so those are in a trash bag now waiting.) and Lucas is currently working on the 4's. I have 6 packs left and over 200 size 5's and 6 packages of 6's.

I also still have about 13 cases of Huggie's 360ct wipes refills from that Kroger mess-up last May. :rotfl:

So it doesn't bug me too much to buy the Overnites... I got two packs at KMart during double coupon week so they were $6/pack. Not bad.
I did just get some $2 Overnites coupons in the mail, so maybe KMart will have double coupons again soon!!

*Ohhh ETA!*

I just checked the Rite Aid ad and Huggies are on sale for $8.99 with a $3 MIR back. Overnites/Pull Ups are included. Plus, you can use a coupon. Bummer is you can only get 1 rebate but it's still not bad, especially if you have the $2 coupons they just mailed out. Only $3.99 for the pack after that! Oh, and you could always sign someone else up and have the refund check mailed to them if you want to do it more than once. :)
