The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

Lucas totally said "da-da" last night!

We get him ready for bed together and then Tom plays airplane with him- swooshing him around the room, tossing him in the air, etc. and Lucas LOVES it! Laughs and giggles the whole time.
Last night Lucas was on the changing table, looked at Tom, held his arms up and said "da-da".. Tom and I just looked at each other like WHOA!!!

It was neat. :)

5:30... so DH wouldn't have to take leave or anything to go with me.

Then dinner with my friend that is pregnant, she wants to talk about it! She is soooo crazy thrilled she is making me laugh constantly. She was like "I can't believe I get to go through all this with someone... not to mention someone that has already done it!"

I'm excited but dreading the idea of it being an internal. :scared:

In case anyone is interested...they have PJ Pals on sale at the Disney Shopping. They are 2/ $20 (reg 16.95). But there are also some in small limited sizes for $5.99 in the clearance section. The item of the day is also infant stretchies reg $14.95 for $6.99.

Depending on what you buy there are codes that worked on retailmenot. I got my kids 4 pairs of PJ Pals and a Christmas stocking for $28.00 total.

Welcome to the world Scarlett, congrats Justine.

Patsy, good luck today. Way to go Lucas!!

Internals aren't bad at all. I used to get them every other week at my high-risk dr's office. They usually don't hurt at all!:goodvibes

Does anybody know of any cute toddler rain ponchos or jackets that aren't going to cost me an arm and a leg?

All of the cheaper ones I've found online cost too much to ship them to me by Friday.

Man are the weather reports for next week goofy. One says rain all week, another says rain only 2 days. I just want to be prepared, but not waste too much money!:thumbsup2

Check out Amazon, if you sign up for Amazon prime (free trial offer) you get free 2 day shipping. That should save you a ton just in shipping. If you sign up for Amazon prime you can log into your account and set it so it won't charge you when the trial is over.

We are heading down on the 5th and I saw the wether is supposed to rain until Saturday...

Alright Ladies (and sbell) did any of you have this much trouble introducing solids?

We've had the squash that I made, then we gave her Earth's Best Sweet potatoes, and this morning I tried rice cereal again (1 tablespoon rc to 3 tblsp of bm). She hates it all. She's reacted the same way everytime...disgusted look, followed by gagging and then throwing up.

Do you think we should just wait and try again this weekend?

Everything i've read/been told is that you're not supposed to introduce more than 1 new food every 4 days.

Lucas hated apples, our Pediatrician told us to just try apples everynight for a week before we moved to another food. He likes them now, mixed with rice cereal.

Other than apples he has loved all the foods so sorry I don't have more to offer :-/

 That's really frustrating, and I can't offer any words of help, except to just keep trying and she'll (hopefully) eventually give in easier. I think Isabelle has the opposite problem; she enjoys food WAY more than milk. She still likes the milk (she loves bf'ing and that close comfort), but doesn't drink long at all. When she gets bottles it takes her at least 20 - 30 minutes just to go through 4 ounces. Now food on the other hand...let's just say she had a stage 2 jar gone in about 5 minutes the other day. :rolleyes1

Good luck!!

Sarah, I would try and make a very soupy mixture...then place the spoon to her mouth and see if she will suck it in like soup. I read that somewhere and it worked with DS#2.

I'm trying to make some tshirts for our trip. I was wondering if I could get your opinions on this design.:goodvibes

Thanks! It's so weird that she's reacting this way...she is REALLY interested in what we eat. It's almost like she's thinking I want what you are having! Not this junk!:confused3

Lilliana is good with ALL pureed fruits and veggies. I tried a beechnut stage 2 mac and cheese - she was disgusted and would not eat it. I have also tried to give her cheerios, fresh banana pieces and those made her gag and throw up all over the place.

How thin is the food your trying to feed her? It may be to thick since she is is used to B-Milk. Not really sure though.

Should I use the rice cereal for the mixture or real food?

I love the design! At first I didn't notice the pics of your family. Cute idea!

Well first we gave her REALLY thin rice cereal and she just looked at us like we were nuts, she didn't like it, but she didn't throw up. She only took a couple of spoonfulls before refusing it though.

I tried two consistencies with the squash--the first was way too thick, but the second was thinner than the sweet potatoes straight from the jar.

Should I try mixing bm with the jarred food?

I guess I just thought it would be easier since we waited until 6 months. lol

oops..sorry. Rice cereal. Then, as she gets it, add a little more rice each time.

Okay, that's what I was thinking. Especially since the super thing rc was the only thing she didn't throw up.

I thought this would be easy!:lmao:

It's all about "getting it". Once she's figured it out, it'll all get easier (until they started sneezing their food all over you :lmao:)

She'll get it soon. Technically, food isn't really necessary when bf'ing.

Yeah, she's still bfing like a champ. In fact she usually makes me feed her after her solid food try outs. I think just to make sure it's still there.
