The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

I don't know how willing he'd be do to do that and I think, with everything going on, I'll avoid a conversation about DH going under the knife. I'm not sure how much "medical intervention" he'll let me talk him into in one year. :rotfl:

He is shocking me how happy he is! He called all of his family (his mother flat out said "I am not happy." and that pissed him off!).
I'm eager to whip out the name book I've got floating around here somewhere, but thats me. I am such a planner and gotta do things ASAP.

...and I realized last night I'm going to need another crib, aren't I? 15 months is probably much too early to transition Lucas out of his.

I think we're switching our bedroom, too. So I've got lots to do.

I'll probably wait for the summer... so I can open windows and repaint rooms. Maybe this will motivate me to get my house completely put together!

We waited on the crib issue because we knew we would have DS#2 in the bassinet in our room. Turned out that we did need to buy another crib, because DS#1 stayed his for a while. Now DS#2 was out of the crib quick. He was out and sleeping with big brother before Luca ever made his appearance. Guess it depends on the kid.:goodvibes

I'm not going to do a bassinet or anything like that... so looks like another crib is in order.

Someone told me to re-check the WIC guidelines and sure enough, if they count the unborn kiddo as a "household member" we'll be eligible for 4 months. That would be awesome! I'd love to get a break on the formula for Lucas for awhile.

Will the baby be in your room for a while?? What about a pack n play in your room for sleeping. We did that for CJ for a little bit, he had outgrown bassinet, but I wasn't ready to put him in room w/Brady, just yet. So we used pack n play. It worked out well. We had him in it in our room when we painted their room, too. No biggie...

I am not sure what all states offer for formula but here in NH it's Good Start plus they have soy. A little bit helps.

I would get another crib, I am not sure of other's but I took DS5 out of his crib to early and to this day he doesn't sleep in his bed all that much.

Anyone try Kindermusik? I can get a break on tuition for Alex because its held at our church, and they have an evening Sign & Sing class that starts right when he turns 6 months...thought it might be fun to do!

We have demo classes at my library twice a year. IMHO you can just as much fun from a free library storytime as you do paying for their very pricey program. I think the classes are nice for older kids where they actually learn something, but free storytime is just as good (if not better in some ways) for the prek crowd.

I had an internal with Katie, and the radiologist did everything, not me. So I guess this is another case of everything is different everywhere! It wasn't painful at all, though.

Patsy, I hope this is what your dh needs to push him to take care of himself!

Interesting - I've had them done in NC, DC, MD and FL and at all of them I inserted it myself. But either way, I am sure it is not bad at all! So no worries Patsy!

In FL they do Good Start also - UNLESS you get a note/prescription from your Dr. stating you need to be using X formula for whatever reason, then they give you checks for those! I am EBF so I don't get formula, but I know it is how it works. They will also give you checks for Lucas for baby food (starts at 6 months) and cereal (starts at 4 months for Formula baby's and 6 months for EBF baby's). I was amazed at how much you can make and still qualify - especially since they count the baby you are carrying!

I get checks also. As of right now I get 8 cans of formula, 32 jars of baby food and 3 boxes of cereal. I think for EBF you get a lot more jared food including meat.

I am borderline for the WIC, if I receive a raise or DS goes back to work I will be way over. I don't think I will do it after DD is off the formula anyway. It's a great program if you qualify.

Congrats Piecey!!!!!! My first 2 are 24 months a day apart. I did get 2 cribs but baby #2 was in my room anyway so I really didn't need the cribs but you just never know where babies will sleep or what they like. Silly babies!!!

As for WIC--

I have a 7 mo old and get for baby a month (EBF):
nearly 100 jars of food (64 jars of fruit/veggies, 33 jars of meats)
3 boxes of infant cereral

and for me: (as EBF mom)
3 cans tuna
2 cans salmon
$10 in fruits/veggies of my chosing
bag of beans
jar of peanut butter
2 doz eggs
5 gallons of milk
loaf of bread or pack of tortillas
2 lbs of cheese (the 16oz Kraft blocks)
3 boxes of cereal or oatmeal
2-3 cans of juice (I buy Juicy Juice)

I think that's it!! It's a lot!! And the limits for HI are pretty high, over $4500 a month for a family of 5.

I'm hoping they count the baby because if they do we're eligible!
Unfortunately, we'll only be eligible until April- DH will get a raise for his "anniversary" at work and that'll bump us back out.

I'll take 4 months, though! I just want the formula paid for with Lucas, that'd be an amazing help! It's Similac here on WIC which is what Lucas eats...

I know my BIL's girlfriend said they just changed the WIC guidelines here. You can't get Juicy Juice here anymore. I forget what she said they replaced it wtih, though... I know when she was telling me about it she gave me a glass of store-brand pineapple juice so I figure it's gotten pretty restrictive. lol.

I filled out the application online and hopefully I hear something soon. That'd be sweet!

They definitely count the baby...to sign up, you will have to have written proof from your doctor of the baby's due date.

Awesome!

The only thing I could find on the WV site is that if I'm not "visibly" pregnant, I have 90 days to submit written proof from my OB.

I have an appt. for my annual on the 26th so if I don't see her by then I know I can get one then.

Still hoping to get an ultrasound order from her Monday, though!!

I hope they get you in quick. I hate waiting! :goodvibes

And my New Year's present is....

Holy CRAP!! Congratulations!!!!!:cool1::cool1:
One of the best parts is that you never really "transition" out of the pregnancy/early baby stages...you kind-of just start the cycle all over again. Basically, you are used to everything and that makes it easier. Plus, when the newest one is old enough to start playing with Lucas, you will just melt. They will be so close...although my 2 are fighting like cats and dogs lately. Hopefully just a phase.:rotfl:

I wanted mine close together too. With all of my pregnancy problems, I figured I would rather go through it all and get it over with. Unfortunately, we decided we were done after Luca and DH got "fixed" and I have been having serious baby-fever. It's so overwhelming and I want to cry. BUT, it's not like I'm not ok with our decision, so I will get over it.:goodvibes
I want another baby so bad it hurts.. The twins are just growing up to fast.. They will be walking really soon.. I wont have this stage anymore, and it really makes me sad. I was helping them open presents and it hit me. No more first Christmases... They are 10 months old now. :sad1: Its going to fast.

it was funny.. I asked my husband what we were doing for my birthday last week.. and he was like, wanna make another baby??;):lmao: I was like, YES!!!:cool1: Thats not quite what he meant though.:rotfl2:

But I think with my sis in law coming in August, we have enough to do. I will have a senior in high school, a 3rd grader, and a kindergartner. :lmao: PLUS the twins!

Thanks for the input! Our library doesn't do anything in the evenings for prek though...that's where I seem to run into problems. Nothing is after DH or I get off of work. :confused3 And the only thing they have on the weekend is "Read to a Dog".

My girlfriend with twins updated her FB status. She lost both boys NYE, but mentioned they were fighters and tried their best. :sad1:

You are going to have a full house!:rotfl:It's so hard....I don't know how to make the feeling go away. My gut tells me that we made the right decision, but my heart wants more babies. Maybe when Luca gets a little more self-sufficient, it will feel different....like we are in a different chapter of our lives. For now...especially since Luca STILL isn't sleeping through the night, I'm still in baby mode. Been there for the last 5 years and I don't know how to break free.:rotfl2: Maybe a pina colada would do it!:rotfl:

Thats funny...the only group we don't have in the evenings is pre k too. We've tried it a bunch of times but the attendance is always terrible.

So sorry about your friend.:sad2:

Has anyone ever tried gymboree for an older child??

It's a little more expensive than I'd like, but I think Brady (my almost 3 year old) would benefit from it. Closest one is about 35 minutes from here, we've been tehre for a bday party w/my 8 year old when he was about 2.

The one near is us 69/month for a class/week. Ther is one for him on Sundays, which is fine. We really don't have anything around us at all for this type of thing. No Y's that I would bring him too, etc. There isone, but in a not so good city and in a bad area of that city! We belonged to a gym, but they didn't really have that type of program for him.
